I grew up next to a Basque family, straight from the "old country." I have seen things butchered that no sensitive little red-haired girl should ever see. LOL But he just thought it would be "amazing" to do it, so I said, "If you really want to . . . " :-)
He was surprised (I wasn't) at how much work it was and how long it took to get all those stupid feathers out.
Good to see you around again, Kim! We were wondering if you'd like to plan a big dinner for 400 people????? (not really)
I am looking forward to dinner for three at Thanksgiving.
If you're talking convention . . . I won't be there next year. I'm thinking of going to Ireland instead. Something I've wanted to do for 10 years. I need to go before I can't walk easily.
Sometimes hubbys just need to do things to see how involved they are. lol
Like Christmas shopping for the family the first time. lol Yeah, done in an hour. Only if he stood at the gift card display!
Hi Kim! We will miss you but certainly Ireland is a trip of a life time and I can understand picking it over convention. But I will miss seeing you around at all the swaps.
I called DS this morning and they are replacing my snowflake die. I don't even have to send the old one back, although it doesn't work so why would I want to keep it.
Hi Kim! Can we do convention in Ireland?! That is a place on my list to go - someday.
DH has informed me that convention might be too much to ask next summer. I am going to Ukraine in Feb/Mar, hopefully Zimbabwe in May and then Alaska in June. He thinks my boss will already be thinking ah, no...and he thinks our pocket book will be saying ah, no. We'll just have to see how things play out.
I have been a party to chicken round up day - all I can say is YUCK! Turkeys are just bigger.
I will miss the crowds, the swapping and the lack of sleep! lol
Just trying to catch up here in the thread, lots of great ideas. I'd love to be part of the preview swaps. ]
I am waiting to order until December 1st as I want a set or two from the catalog sampler 20% off deal and the bundle, preview sets, and anything for the Holiday Extravaganza special. Oh well, I want it all. I haven't ordered anything since early October. I am trying to use up what I have (DSP, etc.) before it retires or goes out of season. I find I don't use if once it retires. I have lots of retired. I moved my stamp room upstairs (to move my son back in temporarily) and also moved 2 other rooms around. I have found I own so much retiresd stuff, and I have lost so many things in moving them around. Camera disk to upload the program into the new computer, sigh. I can't update my website.

Convention in Ireland would be great! Part of my reason is I've been to Utah twice now and while it is great, (and I have wonderful friends there) I'd like to go somewhere else.
You're right, chickens, turkeys and even ducks, yuck, just a lot of feathers.
Try cutting heavy duty foil with your snowflake die. Can't hurt it. I do this with my punches when they get dull. Chipboard really dulls a blade fast. My paper cutter had to be sharpened after cutting for a flip calendar.
OK, I had to laugh about the turkeys because just yesterday, I was driving home and ran into a flock of about 20 of them. They are all over up here. Then, farther down the road, I met a hunter coming out of the woods with his rifle. Now, mind you, it's really populated here - but we have these massive electric lines that run through town - so we see the people hunting there and I hear the gun blasts, which scares the carp out of you early in the morning!
When we visit Spain, all the family meals are home grown/raised/slaughtered. The worst is when you go to play with the bunnies or lamb that you played with yesterday and they aren't there anymore! :( My parents used to have to make up excuses all the time when we were little.
LOL. Which is why, when I'm in Spain, I am constantly looking through the kitchen to figure out what is for dinner, so I know. Because I don't eat bunnies.
OMG! Drew is sooo funny. He got picked to be Star of the Week and he is so excited he is walking around with the board. So we put two pictures on as a start, so I can help Jack with his homework. Well, he has been walking around the house finding odds and ends and tacking them on his board, including a Victoria's Secret card for a free pair of underwear!!! it has a model just wearing undies on the front. How funny is THAT??!!!
Meanwhile back in the kitchen, Jack is stamping pilgrims and native americans for his project. I have that Turkey Talk set that is really cute and goes for a decent sum on the bay, it was NUM, well, not anymore!!!!!!
So where is the cute accordion fold holiday thing that Amy showed us awhile back that made everyone want the Serif Essential dies? My neighbor wants to make a bunch as the centerpieces for our church's Christmas party but I can't find them anywhere.
I did it!! I got all 62 pages prepped for my retreat weekend. I just need to pack for myself and two of my kids (multiple sports). On the weekends, my DH and I split the kids and get them where they need to be, so I'm sending my two to my parents. They will do my duties! I just love them!! I need to pack my stuff as I leave tomorrow and I will be gone in less than an hour (that's 3 pm PST) until 9 pm, finishing my afternoon/evening run of various kid activities. It's raining and I have soccer duties. I wonder if I would be a bad mom and not bring my DS to soccer! He lives for and loves his soccer though. They already had a practice yesterday and my Dad will be taking him to his game on Saturday...hmmm...I usually don't mind but tonight I wanted to pack and buy a few snacks. Oh well, hopefully my friend won't mind a pit stop at the store.

Sounds good to me!!! Congrats!!
Ellie, That is my constant state through winter...swimming doesn't help me I'm sure. Rest up for the big push to the holidays!!
How sweet that the baby has the same name. How touching.
Hey wonderful ladies!
Missi - cool on the bathroom. Wish we had a second one sometimes and it is just DH and I.
Erin- Go you! have a great weekend!
Jen - we have hunters in our area. Every now and then you hear a shot fired. Sometimes it's me hunting those D!@* gophers. I am not partial to bunnies either, bu they are better than squirrel.
Hi's to Paula, Amy, Kim, Ellie, Rhonda...and everyone I am missing...Liz...Angie...Stacy...
I am at my sisters getting ready to go. I am meeting my GF parents for lunch - this is the GF that died in April after battling CF having a full lung transplant and so many complications from that. She was 32. Anyway - her parents live only blocks away from the retreat house where we are going this weekend. I have sort of become the "adopted" daughter through the years, so I try and keep connected to them as much as I can.
I have done my nieces a favor this morning too by doing their dishes and cleaning up the kitchen. And fed and watered the dog. He (the dog) was kinda happy this morning when everyone left and I was still here. He just stood at the door and said throw the ball, throw the ball, come on throw the ball...I said are you crazy it's like 7 degrees out there!!! So he is snuggled on my feet now.
Good Am ladies.. these germs really want to bother me..
lol I am giggling over here cause Gabi everytime DH is leaving to go to work go see her run to the front and say Daddy where you going... DH: Gabi I'm going to work.. Gabi: Ok have a good day. lol.. EVERYDAY.. its soo cute and then she comes back over to me and say Mama paper.. color.. lol..
OHHH.. well I hope everyone is bundled up and warm cause its sooo cold here..
Now Erin you need to come here and help me prep.. I'd be happy with just 10 pages done! lol.. 62 thats so AMAZING!
Ok now to "offically" get up get somethng to eat and head into my office.. lol.
Morning Ladies. I am jealous of all of you going away to retreats this weekend. Have fun and get some projects done for me too. ;)
We're going to the local children's museum today with my friend and her kids. I think we are just going to get a membership this time. We've put it off, but with two kids, and a long cold winter ahead, pretty sure it will pay for itself.
Still have lots of projects to finish up. My DH and I are going to see a local production of "Into the Woods" tomorrow afternoon and to dinner for my birthday after. He must really love me because we are going during the Utah/BYU game. It will be the first time we leave Spencer with a babysitter. Hope it isn't a total disaster.
Sorry the museum was a bust. Sometimes that's just the way it goes. Drew and I went shopping today, as my mom wanted me to go to the Christmas Tree Shoppe to look for something for her. It was soooo crowded! It's an awesome East Coast/New England chain. I never go in there after Thanksgiving, since it's soooo crazy. Lots of good bargains. Today Drew picked the longest/slowest line possible...ugh 25 minutes on line. I'm done with that store until Jan. 1. On our way home there must have been a fatal accident on the highway, as all traffic was diverted off. There were at least 10 police cards there. It was crazy.
Location: Oklahoma...State (OSU) We love 'em even when they lose, and we're never disappointed!

Sorry about your museum visit Paula!
I'm going with a stampin friend to our Christmas place on Tuesday Jen...I'm not one to go after Thanksgiving either!
Go Amy! I'm going to wrap some of my elf packages tonight!
I went to the post office for other stuff today, and they were so slow and needed more workers b/c.....an entire person was spending all day on the care packages for the troops.....I didn't complain of course
I'm going to make dressing and sweet potatoes tonight too. (This is my first Thanksgiving to cook because my mom is in the rehab place after their car wreck.) Oh....Liz's recipe.....brb
