Kathy, I got your Christmas card, too! So pretty! Thank you...you and Ann are so good at getting them out early! I'm impressed. I'm still working on mine.
Kandie, you're welcome and I love that gorgeous journal cover! Wow!
I'm doing much better today...I think. LOL I just got up and it's almost 10 a.m. I've definitely got my sleep in lately! Hoping to get some cards made today. I did make one yesterday.

Good morning! I was up late last night signing, stamping (as in postage stamp), and sealing Christmas cards for all those that I have made. I need to make ten more to complete just the ones I want to mail. Unfortunately, I woke up early too...hmmm, stayed up late and woke up early to make up for it...not a good combination! Oh well, it is what it is.
I also got DH all set to go to DMV and renew his license which expires next Tuesday on his birthday.
Gracie, an Alpha chat would be fabulous - though everyone is probably extra busy this month.
Kandie, your journal cover is fabulous, so pretty!
Chocolate chip pancakes sound very tasty, Ann. Are your poppets coming over?
That is amazing that Sabrina got her card before some in the states, Kathy. It is so strange how the mail operates these days...I guess it goes with the year!
I'm mailing some cards out to a friend that ordered 15. She buys from me periodically, but more this year, because her mom is living with them. Where her mom had been, they couldn't visit, so they brought her home, so they are sending out a lot of cards to friends.
There is such an uptick in cases here. Especially nursing homes and my DIL took a second job at one that has cases. If she stops by, she does not come in. I wish my brother and his family would wear masks at Mom's. His wife still shops s lot. She shouldn't because she has only one kidney due to cancer, so I'd guess she should be more careful. Everyone else wears masks. I've made it a point to tell anyone that I come in contact with that if dad caught covid-19 it would be a death sentence. If they look at it like that, I think they would be more thoughtful.

Happy day everyone.
I think it's wonderful that they could bring their mother home with them. That's really the best way to protect her. And if she would catch something, they would at least be able to be with her. I hate the thought of people dying alone without their families.
Shirl I’m not sure if it was just the English name for the Netherlands years ago but now everyone calls it the Netherlands, I suppose it’s similar to why we say Germany but the German people say Deutschland, mind you in Spain they call it Alemania.
Melody that’s so good that your friend took their mother home with them.
Kathy you’d think your brother would be careful around your parents but then our DIL in England is like that, she couldn’t understand why when we had to quarantine we didn’t want to eat a meal with her sister who runs Pilates classes, steve has heart problems so we have to be extra careful, he doesn’t go in any shops unless it’s something I can’t do.
Wait to see friend will make sketch card challenge for today! She been a night owl. she most likely still a sleep. But, I have the ideal already! it's cold broad here today.
Just had an email from DIL and a photo of our GS, four, we bought him an advent calendar but instead of chocolate it has a dinosaur in the door every day, so day three he has already opened five doors, our son said he wouldn’t be able to wait once he saw the dinosaurs!
Jan, how fun that there is a dinosaur for every day in that Advent calendar!
Ann, chocolate chip pancakes? What time is breakfast again?
I’ve got the barking cough in my chest this morning. Crazy weather!
I finally decided to make cards, but the papers are downloads from Etsy, so I didn’t stamp or color or anything. Lots of printing, trimming, accenting and gluing. I am tucking some fun things inside. So forgive me that they aren’t really “hand made”, lol.
My former MIL tells me a friend of hers is on life support from COVID, and it upsets her so much when she sees people saying it’s not true or people who aren’t wearing masks. And DH is so angry that his DS3 complains of all the people where he works who won’t wear masks, and yet he goes to a football game party where there is someone who later tested positive, and yet he didn’t wear a mask while he was there. He told the son, don’t you dare come over here! Grrrrrr

Good morning! Yay, it is Thursday (which is my Friday for work). I have to leave early to do some grocery shopping before work. DD1 is off so the shopping falls to me this week. I thought I'd check in quickly first, though.
Melody, I'm so glad your friend could bring her mom home. We've already had a friend die who was isolated in an assisted living facility. His wife had been going to visit him every day and he had been doing OK (obviously he was declining otherwise he would have been home). But, when this happened, they wouldn't let anyone visit him and part of his decline was due to mental decline so, suddenly, he is isolated and not receiving visits and confused etc. He didn't die of Covid, he died from the response to Covid. So, I'm extra glad that your friend was able to bring her mom home.
Shirl, I'm glad you had a nice dinner out.
Hmm, now I need to research the name change of the Netherlands...later though.
What a fun Advent calendar for your GS, Jan!
So Kandie, when you bark in the morning does Dusty bark back? ;) Sorry that cough is back, I hate coughs.
Kandie sorry to hear you have a cough, take care of yourself, this is why the virus keeps going as people won’t follow the rules, this weekend is a fiesta and although no one is supposed to travel out of their area we know some will try to come down here so we are hoping the police will be checking, if it gets busy we won’t go out.
Everybody must be busy getting ready for the holidays! It was a long day for me - and I had to bring work home. But, I did successfully get a pack of our usual TP at Sam's Club this morning before work - yay! A long day at work and then the grocery store before finally heading home.
I went to a Starbucks (not DD1's store) to get a beverage this morning and it wasn't tasty! I called DD1 to tell her they made bad coffee, she told me to go to her store and have them remake it for free. I wasn't going to but then ended up going after all. So glad I did, her co-worker made a wonderful cup of coffee and, when I was headed back to the car to head back to work, I hear my name and look over and here are two British friends that used to live here but they have returned home to Britain. They are here for a visit (their kids are both here). So nice to see them and totally accidental.
Jan, I didn't ask them how long they've been here. I know he is going back next Thursday, not sure when she is headed back. I'm sure they came over to visit their kids, include Thanksgiving (they lived here a long time), probably needed to check on their house too.
Catherine, I didn’t know Starbucks would remake a cup of bad coffee. Very cool.
My barking has turned into bronchitis. I haven’t had that for years, don’t even know where it came from. DH says trying to work on stuff 4-6 hours a day and then running around trying to keep the laundry and the house up wore me out. But he also said, before I could open my mouth, lol, that he gets so totally into projects that he won’t take time to rest, and then does the lawns and gets the groceries, and then finds one day the Mack has run over him several times. So we are both cut from the same bolt of cloth.
Anyone else persistent to the point of ill health to get things done?

Good morning! I've already dusted and vacuumed and finally allowed myself to sit down with a cup of tea and see what you are all up to.
Grocery delivery at the crack of dawn, Ann? Too early for me!
Yes, Kandie, Starbucks will remake your cup of coffee and you don't even have to go to the same store (which makes sense because obviously that store failed at making it once already!). While I waited for my new cup, I threw my original cup away as they didn't ask for it back. I didn't know that either - until DD1 started working for them. It makes sense since their coffee is so expensive.
Sorry to hear you have bronchitis. Yes, sounds like you and your DH are cut from the same cloth. I sometimes will do that, it depends on how imminent the deadline is looming. I do try to get rest but have a hard time going to bed early.
You are too funny, Ann, good thing your fingers were crossed!
We have card class tomorrow. I will wear my mask. We aren't really making cards. Just having our Christmas party. My demo friend is a very clean person, so I don't worry about covid being there. But the others will be coming in. Six or seven of us.
Kandie so sorry you feel so awful. Loved your last sentence of anyone else persistant to get things done to the point of ill health? I feel like I barely have enough steam to get lots of things done these days. But going out to a drugstore sale today. Unless I change my mind, lol.
Ann I sure hope you get a nap in today!
Catherine, I started re reading Shepherd's Abiding by Jan Karon last night! And how interesting that you got a bad coffee and had such a good result of meeting some friends because of it. The Lord works in mysterious ways. Love it!
I need to do some baking but no mojo in that dept. I shopped at Safeway yesterday and saw all their baking, but thought it was all probably too much sugar and that I should be making my own. We like having a little something after a meal.
Kathy, I am praying nothing results from your card get together group.
Haha. Linda, stuff is getting missing in the mail. If the postal workers smell baked goods they wouldn't make it to Texas! LOL. You need to send someone to Walmart to get you some cherries cordial kisses!
Yes! on the cherries cordial kisses! That's okay my sister works for the
postal. I can get her to hunt down the bake goods. LOL

I’m hoping Kathy will see this....Kathy was there an embossed toilet paper tutorial? I can’t find it.
Happy Saturday everyone and get well Kandie and anyone else who isn’t feeling great. I’m still searching for that mojo and it better hurry up and come back soon. My motivation to do a thing is zilch.....that includes stuff at home lol.
Keep well and have fun everyone. Hugs
