Gracie, we are having the same weather. The rain is steady, sometimes down to sprinkling and then more to pouring, but it’s 68 out, and I stood out in the gentler rain and did the deadheading of flowers that I have gotten behind with since puttering in the back porch instead. Also pulled off all the dead petunias, and with two large hanging plants, that did take a while. I kind of enjoyed getting soaked!
Just ordered two indoor/outdoor rugs from the Home Depot site for 20 each. I don’t need quality, I just need something on the back porch ugly and stained concrete floor that drips can go through without ruining anything. DH graciously paid for it. I think he’s tired of me dragging him store to store to look for rugs, lol. I have found many I liked, but not the price!

Kandie, a cold front is moving in. The rain held off and DH washed cars and I cut down some small scrub trees, then we walked the dogs about an hour ago and it was 79 and now it has already dropped to 66 and is windy. The rain is moving in. I need to get motivated to go craft, but now I'm being lazy! Can't wait to see the new rugs for your porch!
Annette good for you sorting, purging and cleaning your craft room! I started doing that a few weeks ago and sold a lot at my mom's thrift sale. I have a retreat in a couple of weeks, so I may purge more to sell there.

I thought of kandie. I was up at moms barn measuring because we are going to re roof it and out behind it was an old gate! The minute I saw it, I thought I wonder how kandie would use this to decorate!
Kathy, since DH won’t disturb the mortar on the two brick sides of the back, I would position that old gate against the wall and hang vintage barn pictures on the fence instead!!

would you believe, I was browsing Pinterest and saw I had several messages, which I never pay attention to, so I looked at them, and some guy is trying to pick me up. He must be really hard up if he’s using Pinterest as a dating app.
Kathy, I forgot to tell you, I was bit by a brown recluse many years ago. It was in the toe of a pair of shoes stored in the basement. I tried on the shoes to see if they still fit, never felt a thing, but brown recluses venom numbs the area at first. When the pain hit, I was in bed, holding my foot up in the air with both hands and crying from the intense pain. The hospital found the site, blackened skin between two toes, and a red line had begun to run from the mark up my leg. Shots, salve, and quite a while before I could walk on that foot. SO YOU BE CAREFUL! Oh yes, and a dead brown spider fell out of that shoe when I ventured down to look inside. I never found another, and that was always ok with me.

Grand kids were here all day!! We got lots of tadpoles off the top of the pool cover!! The grand kids had such fun!! I found a large pretzel plastic container and let them load them up!! Much to their parents dismay!!
Teresa even caught the tadpoles mom, or so she says!! That little girl loves all creatures, ants, any kind of bugs!
Hi everyone! She did it! Today was commencement and we are now done with graduation weekend. Now she needs to write thank you notes and get a job! My brother and sister-in-law left for home almost when commencement was over because they had a long drive home. They volunteer at their church doing community service and it is open Monday afternoon but they pick up groceries Monday morning for it.
I told you she sang a duet Friday evening and was lead vocalist on a group number Friday night. Saturday the elite choir sang and they did a song where she had a solo. She also participated in leading the music and introduced the speaker, who is her pastor (my boss) and he's like a second dad to her. I wish I had taped her doing the intro. He has never had an intro like that. Of course, she grew up going to work with me.
Saturday evening we had her party. A lot of people came and it got quite loud in the room.
Today she didn't do anything musical, just marched in and got her diploma and enjoyed the commencement address. Then, this afternoon, we went to several of her classmates parties.
Let's see if I can remember what I read, because I did catch up on the reading.
Melody - yay! for getting the AC repaired. That is awesome!
Jayne - I believe that public school graduations are just the commencement address but the girls attend - or, in the case of DD1, attended - a private Christian school so it is an entire weekend thing. When I graduated from a private Christian school, we also had a class night which, essentially, was a student talent show. It was great.
Annette - congratulations ot your daughter. Love the pics!
Kandie - Wow, girl! Your porch looks fantastic! I'd love to be there, as long as it was really hot and wasn't humid at all.

Ann, I think I've come out in sympathy with Athena but I'm not barfing LOL. The Dr told me that my inner ear infection was either through flying or swimming but as I've not done either of those for weeks it was doubtful from that. I thought from my sinusitis but even though they are stuffed too at present she doubted it. I started with a sore throat and she thinks with all the flu/colds going around I've either just caught something when someone sneezed or coughed. I've never had ear pain this bad and I have relapsed twice in the past week. Today I am feeling somewhat human again but my ears are still full of fluid and I can't hear properly. My chest is still infected but not getting worse. I start my second batch of antibiotics tomorrow.
I finally got out of my jimjams yesterday and washed my hair. Today I went to my friend's home...next door LOL...for our monthly craft get together. I made one very very simple card and just chatted for a while before coming home. I just don't have the energy and have cancelled all my appointments again for this week except a haircut on Wednesday if I feel better as it's nearly 3 months since I had my haircut...I have never gone that long and the grey is showing LOL. I am doing as I'm told..... most of the time. LOL

Kathy...eek spiders. I know about those. We have big hairy ones that jump but don't harm, we have redbacks that live on metal usually outdoors and can kill a small child and make an adult sick. We have white tip ones that I've seen where people's limbs swell up after they've been bitten and need urgent treatment. There's ones over East that I would not wish to encounter. When Kandie mentioned about her foot, I thought of hubby who found a web in his ugg boots recently. We had to make sure there was nothing in there before he put his foot in. I will take spiders any day though over snakes and over things we have here. You were a lucky lady it didn't bite you.
Your cards are wonderful. Love the little guy on the piano...what talent. I also thought of Kandie and the old gate. I can picture that in her porch as a frame or to hang things off. We also donate lots every year and particularly to cancer research. I always thought I would do voluntary work when I retired but I do so many other things that my time is limited but maybe one day I will. I have 3 friends who do so much voluntary work...I admire them.
Gracie, glad the weather was nice for your family wedding. We also have rain...stormy, windy and wet. I don't mind as long as I'm indoors.
Sis Vicki, oooh such cute GG pups...adorable. I won't show them to our DIL1 or poppets or they would want one LOL. I am thinking of you tomorrow...wishing you a quick op and speedy recovery.
Kandie, your porch is so gorgeous and reminds me of how I always wanted to do things years ago. I love country style and even though we have changed to a modern home and modern look I still hanker over the country style. I have a dresser, washstand and box I brought over from the UK and a collection of antique jugs and gravy bowls that I wish I could box up and send to you if the postage didn't cost so much. I would love them to go to someone who would love and care for them. Your porch reminds me of my MILs porch when they lived at the farm. A DND is good and hope that you did absolutely nothing. LOL re Pinterest as a dating site. No-one has sent me messages LOL although someone from Africa...maybe it's Nigeria or somewhere keeps trying my mobile phone. I ignore them. Hubby says...it will be a scam and how they got my number I have no idea.
Annette, for our graduations the grads usually have a dinner with the Principal and teachers offsite...that is what our boys did and they went to a private Christian College. For parents, we were offered 2 tickets to the graduation ceremony at the school and there's evening supper on afterwards. The kids then have their ball/after school ball parties in Years 11 and 12. When I was at Uni there was just the ceremony and parents go out with their kids for dinner. It is very low key here.
Catherine, I am so happy that everything went off well. How special for your daughter to sing solo. Special memories.
Well my time is up on the pc for now...time to watch the tennis finals with hubby. Enjoy

Good morning, ladies and ladies. What a weather switch. Rain totally all day yesterday and all night and still raining this morning. I ran out to check on my porch as there are leaks when it rains hard, and there was water everywhere. The old plant bench and pots had standing water but won’t be harmed but the wicker chair and blanket were slightly wet so I relocated them a few inches farther away from the wall. So apparently all is normal for a rainy day.
Jayne, I am continually keeping you in prayer for healing. You really are having a terrible attack, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of such a long duration of infected ears. I used to subscribe to the oil cure, but when DH saw a hearing specialist the doctor told him half peroxide and half water with an eye dropper and to keep his head tilted till it stops bubbling, then rinse with warm water. It works great. Get well, lady.
PS. I wish I could afford the postage for your pots as well, even a few at a time!! I would be honored to use them.
Catherine, happy Monday and recuperating day for your family! Wow, so much planning and then all the wonderful singing and parties and happy tears and memories. Did you take lots of photos? I look forward to seeing some!
Ann, the little tadpoles caught little tadpoles! So sweet. Will their parents allow them to be kept? I see a picture of it in my mind, along with lots of squeals and giggles.

Kandie, thank you. I am starting to feel human again this evening and finished 1 box of double strength antibiotics. I don’t really know about ear infections but mine is my middle ear and why the dr called me back. On Saturday it hadn’t budged in one ear but I think it’s improving as my ears don’t feel as full. Hubby has just said that he thinks I’m coming back....whoop whoop. I don’t have to ask him so much to repeat things lol.

It's windy and cool this morning! So I'm going outside for a while to dig out weeds!

Athena, threw up again this morning! Such a nice way to start the day!
So fun with the grandkids yesterday!! Their parents let them take them home but I don't think we made points with our DIL!! She said she would remember this one!!
Teresa and Jack took home hundreds of tadpoles and one mama frog in a large plastic pretzel container!! LOL! Teresa called them her kids so she said look mom and dad your grandkids!!
Off to go pull some weeds! Laundry is going, sheets are pulled off so on to outside stuff!!
Parents! I took mine to the hospital for lab work. Dropped them off right at the door and got dad settled into a wheelchair. I told them I was going to the eye center to have them check my new glasses and then to DD for a coffee. I told mom that if I wasn't in the lobby waiting, she should call me. My errands were extremely fast so I found a good parking spot and waited. It was raining so I didnt go in. I waited for nearly an hour and thought they must've been extremely busy today. Finally had to go pee since I finished a large coffee sitting there. They were sitting in the lobby and had been there nearly all the time I was in the parking lot. At that point dad had to go to the bathroom too, so we went before I loaded him up. I'm a patient waiter, but I hate making them wait, so I felt bad. Mom said it was no problem, she's always sweet. On the way home I called the state police because there was a dead deer in the passing lane on route 15 and I didn't want anyone hitting it and having an accident. She asked if it was whole or in pieces! It was whole and couldve caused major damage.
Jayne, so sorry to hear you are still struggling with your ears! Hopefully, the second round of antibiotics will clear them up completely! I'm with you, I can handle spiders but not snakes!
Catherine, so happy everything went so well for graduation weekend! Such a fun celebration and milestone for DD1. Can't wait to see some pics!
Kandie, we lived across from an elementary school growing up and I loved to swing, so your picture brought back lots of fun memories! We just put up some cloth hammock-type swings beneath our deck, so now I can relive my childhood!
Ann, it sounds like a fun weekend with the grands! My son and DIL will never let the girls bring home all the snakes, tadpoles, frogs and whatever they find while here. They always make them let them go at the end of the visit! Such fun!

If it hadn't been raining I probably would've gone in and waited. But I didn't have my car, so no umbrella. I carry two in my car, but its easier to get dad in and out of their minivan.
Good hot morning! Triple digits are expected today and tomorrow down the hill where I work. Up here where we live, the forecast is for the 90s...so glad it wasn't this warm yesterday. It was plenty warm though. The after a big event sadness has set in this morning.
I'm so thankful that it all went well and that my brother and sister-in-law surprised us all. DD1 had a wonderful weekend, now it is time to get a job, and get registered for college.
I will share a few photos at a time. I don't want to overwhelm you all!
Jayne - I'm sorry you are having such a challenging time getting well. This is really hanging on. Glad to read that you are starting to feel human again, praying it continues.
Kandie - rain sounds good right now. I'm glad things were damaged on your lovely porch. It looks like such a wonderful place to sit and visit.
As for your photo of the swings with the puddles under them, oh yes, I remember that problem!
Ann - oh no to your wake up call with Athena! And I had to chuckle at your grandkids with their tadpole children. Such fun.
Here are a few photos of DD1 from the weekend. Actually, the first two are when she opened her gift from Vickster and Des to find the beautiful leis they sent her. Her classmates had leis too, but hers were the most beautiful. The last one is when we brought her out to see that her uncle and aunt from Idaho had come down to surprise her for her graduation.

Kathy, did your mom forget to call you? I remember my former in-laws. They were already in their 70s when I joined the family. Once, they were to take me to the dentist for a partial and some tooth extraction and I wasn’t supposed to drive myself. But they never showed so I drove anyway. Apparently, after 10 years of visiting their DS, they had suddenly forgotten where we lived. When they finally made their way to the dentist and asked for me the receptionist wanted to know what I was having done, and they couldn’t answer. They had forgotten that as well. That was the day the family decided they shouldn’t be driving anymore. So very scary for everyone.
It is so cold out for this time of year, 52 degrees and raining. I did get the dead blooms removed from the plants out front and mopped up the water in back, and now have a real bad headache. Dusty and I are watching an episode of Star Trek Voyager for a bit before I get back to inside chores.

Kandie, she didn't forget to call me. She just was afraid I was still at the eye center or getting a coffee and didn't want to bother me. Time just moved on and she did a Sudoku in the paper while she waited with Dad. When I finally went in in the rain she had her phone out and was getting ready to text me. I don't think she hears so well and she may not have heard me say that if I wasn't in the lobby she should call me.
Im watching little man from 8 to noon the next two days. My sister is camping until Wednesday night. I'm not looking forward to it only because I can't do anything when I'm down there watching him. But my sister needs the time away. She does a lot for her daughter and grandson. So I'm happy she is getting a bit of a break. So I will be out of the loop a bit. I will try to plan my next alpha card. Can't believe I've kept up so far this round!
Busy day and I'm still tired from the weekend. It was the usual day at work but DD1 came with me as she needed to make a deposit at the credit union as well as obtain a debit card. Plus I had a dental cleaning (that I had forgotten about).
Kandie - hopefully your headache is long gone. 52 degrees sounds lovely compared to the 103 degrees it was down in the valley. I think it hit the 90s up here in the mountains.

Hi Catherine, I didn't get to make a card today. :( I did laundry and some mending, then was going to make a card when DH asked my plans for the afternoon. Anyway, he had a 1984 Lincoln Continental Mark VII left to him in his former in-law's will. It only had 40,000 miles on it. It's been in storage for 20 years. He had it restored and new transmission put in it, so he needed a ride to go pick it up...so there went the rest of my afternoon. We will take it down to AZ when we go back. Usually we only have the truck there, so now I'll have my own transportation. Little old lady driving around in style! LOL
Your daughter looks so happy and she looked so surprised and touched to see her aunt and uncle! What a beauty! Love the lei's Des and Sis sent to her! How sweet and special. I'm sure you are a little sad with everything over now...always a little let down after big events! Hugs! Sorry to hear it is so hot there! We had nice weather today, but it's suppose to cool off and rain for the next couple of days.

I overdid it yesterday. I got all my chores done including vacuuming and I think I worked myself into a terrible headache. Early evening I went to bed and slept for 3 hours. It helped a bit.
Poor DH, his first day of setting up a pole barn for an auction this weekend was a disaster! The location is a former horse farm. The couple who own the property are splitting up, and a friend of their daughter has moved into their home and paid only half the asking price but won’t finish paying nor will they leave.
DH said the couple were inside the pole barn screaming at each other while DH and his crew tried to work. Then the daughter showed up with her five children and they ran wild in the barn as well. Oh yes, as the crew threw stuff (that they know from experience won’t sell) into the dumpster the husband was getting into it and dragging stuff back out.
I am SO GLAD I got out of the business when I did!

Thank you all for your best wishes whilst I've been unwell. Today I finally felt a lot more like myself and have done more, albeit my ears are still blocked. I started the 2nd box of meds and hope by the end of these I will hear properly again. It's good to be back and I have a few days where I can read and also create...yay.

Kandie - I used to drive a "boat," it was a Ford Galaxy 500. I can't remember what year but it was the car mom and dad provided for me to drive, though it was their car.

So funny, the sign you posted! One of the girls' favorite teachers tends to leave a lot of tabs open all the time - as does their dad. I know the sign is about their mind having too many tabs open, but it tends to drive us crazy when they leave tabs open!
