I went straight to the pictures! Love, love love them!
DH had a ford galaxy 500 when we met and we used that after we were married! It was a 1963. Blue, sat real low to the ground. I wish we would have kept it! I'll see if I can find pics! But if I post them I will have to take pics of the pics! Didn't have digital back then!
Really grainy pics, but you can get an idea. The car was sitting at my friends house. I have other pictures from that day, so we must've been hanging out. The other is in the back seat of it leaving the church to go to reception hall.
The Ford Galaxy 500 my parents owned was also blue, Kathy. I'll have to see if I can find pictures of it. I don't normally name vehicles (though both of our current vehicles have names but that is due to the girls), but I named the Galaxy 500. It was Maynard and Maynard was a great car for our family. I always thought mom wanted me to drive what they provided so she could put me in a tank!

Gracie, cooler would be lovely as we've got triple digits going here. I just checked my phone and it is 92 here at home - and 104 where I work - where I am headed back to shortly as I have board meeting tonight.

Had a great time at my 4 day scrap retreat. Love going to those! Got a lot done. DH says Thursday and Friday night wasn’t bad, but by Saturday night he was lonesome for me. We messaged back and forth on our iPads, though. Good to be home though.

Gosh, back in the 70s my stepsister drove a Lincoln Continental Mach 1 or something like that for years. Being as she was only 4’10” tall, it always looked like a child was driving!
Catherine, love, Love, LOVE the DD1 photos!!!
I have to have a chat with huge bumblebees who keep flying into the back porch and then buzzing all over the screens because they can’t get out again. Do they not see the door is open, which is where they flew in in the first place??? Something under that old potting bench is attracting these humongous bees. I put a cup over one on the screen and slid a piece of paper between the cup and the screen, and oh my gosh does the buzz volume go up! I can probably translate it, lol. I take it outside and let it go, and in an hour it (or another one) is inside trying to get out again.
Believe it or not, I was watering the tomato plants yesterday which have marigolds planted around them and a huge bee was flying around the flowers, and suddenly it started flying in large circles around me! I said okay, okay, and I moved away, and it went back to the flowers. Jeez, they ARE my flowers, for Pete’s sake.

Good morning, Kandie! I can’t lay on the floor anymore, I could never get up! LOL. I know Kathy sometimes sleeps on the floor when she is having pain. She is a lot younger, I guess! LOL
I actually got back on, Kandie to tell you we , DH and I liked that tabs open sign you posted. And I love the one with the puddles under the swings! Oh, my goodness! I can remember that so well! Big problem, back then. Thanks for the smiles, Kandie.

Kandie, I run a mile from bees and wasps. I’ve never been stung but when they start buzzing around me I flap and waft and jump and run...not a good look lol.
Sharon, glad that you enjoyed your scrap retreat. I bet you got lots of pages completed. I don’t think I could go away from my hubby for 4 days but we are still in honeymoon stage lol. So cute that your hubby missed you and you were sending messages to one another.

I missed it but son said Athena threw up all over last night! We don't know what is causing it. All the test she had and still nothing!

Good morning all! Kandie, I always love your posts and pictures. I still can't get my computer to do the little thumbnails. Oh well! Our internet isn't so good here and lots of times I get error messages and it says reconnect to internet. Frustrating. Hopefully, you won't get stung by one of your friendly visiting bees! They don't sound too bright!
Catherine, I saw on the news last night that the West Coast is having a heat wave! Sounds like you're in for another hot day. Rain here. Late meeting for you last night! I was going to comment last night, but our internet was worse than usual...very spotty and hit and miss because of all the rain.
Ann, poor Athena. Sure wish they could determine what is upsetting her stomach! Your craft room sounds like mine! I made 4 cards yesterday and it is a disaster! I just don't know how people can craft neatly.
Hi Sharon, sounds like you had a wonderful 4 day retreat and got lots done. I love that your DH missed you! So sweet! I have a craft retreat in a week, next Thurs. - Sun. with 18 women! There is a huge 2 story building that was renovated into a craft retreat. It has 6 bathrooms and 8 bedrooms, full kitchen and living room with a huge room for crafting.
Well, DH has made brunch: strawberries and Belgian waffles! So have a great day all! Hello to Melody, Shirl, Sis Vicki, Annette and anyone I've missed. Still thinking of you Linda. Hugs and prayers for you and Sis Vicki for her eye surgery.

Good morning! Yes, we are in for another hot one today, then, supposedly, cooling tomorrow. Yesterday, the forecast was saying that Thursday would be a good 10 degrees cooler than today should be, meaning we'll be down into the 90s instead of triple digits. That will be a relief. At least it cools off, so we can open the house up at night.
Last night when I got home, there was a deer in our front yard. I walked quietly and slowly to the front door and it didn't run off which surprised me. It had probably been making a snack of our roses out front.
Sharon - I bet you had a lot of fun at the scrap retreat and got a lot done. I love that your DH missed you!
Kandie - your image of your stepsister looking like a child driving her car made me smile.
With regard to bumble bees, I don't think I would be so brave as to trap them and let them outside!
I don't think I watched TV laying on the floor. I like having a seat with a back.

A raining, messy day sounds wonderful. And the perfect excuse for you to clean up your crafting area.
Thank you for your comments about the girls. I think they are beautiful, but then I'm biased! I was so proud of DD1 during the weekend and my eyes did leak just a little, I tried hard to keep it to a minimum but did have waterproof mascara in case I failed.
Gracie - now I'm hungry hearing about your breakfast. Yum! That sounds fantastic. It also sounds like you have a wonderful scrap retreat coming up. What fun.
Kandie - I have seen that Jennifer is active on Pinterest and wondered how she is doing.

OK, today's graduation photo installment. I have attached her table display at commencement. She and I planned it together. I know that normally you would use something to cover up the items you used to achieve different heights for the display, however, the books that were used for that purpose were actually also part of the display. They all belong to her. There is a picture of her in the dress she wore under her gown at commencement and picture of DD2 in her blue/white skirt and blue top, and the last photo is all of us at commencement. We had to take it before commencement commenced because my brother and sister-in-law were heading back to Idaho as soon as commencement was over. I'm so glad they came down!
Oh, Catherine, you have a beautiful family! And you, especially you, all look so happy! That is such a sweet table display, with even her ballet shoes with the photo of her! It is just all special. Thanks for sharing your special moments with us.

Wow! Catherine, what a wonderful display of your DD1's belongings and pictures! Love it! Both of your daughters are so beautiful and love their outfits! I remember the day you talked about shopping for them, such fun memories! Beautiful, wonderful, awesome family photo! Home from babysitting. I wasn't a happy camper at first because niece was dogsitting again (did I mention I'm allergic to dogs?) So four dogs in the house. However her little chiuaua was nasty to the new dog so she caged both the nasty one and the sweet one she is sitting. The other two are really old and slept the whole time. She put the little one, cage and all, in the bathroom so I didn't have to hear her barking the whole time. The one she's sitting just sat quietly in the cage. She said she was going to see if her mom would keep the snarly little spitfire (my words, not hers!) A couple of days so I snitched and gave her mom a heads up! I'm so glad her mom was able to get away a couple of days. This would wear me out if I had to do it daily. Maybe it would be different if he were my grandson....
Be back in a bit. Mom is bringing a letter for me to read. Looks like her doctor retired so I'm going to see exactly what they say.
Back home from work. Thanks for the compliments on the photos. DD1 was quite happy with her table display, it really isn't my forte. I needed to hire the principal or have Kandie come out and do it! But she was happy and that is what matters.
I guess I did fail to tell who was in the family photo. You are correct, Kathy, that it is my brother and sister-in-law on the left. He is my oldest brother and they are the ones who drove down from Idaho. Then it is the four of us. On the other side is brother and sister-in-law who live here locally. About 7-10 minutes away from where we currently live, in fact. I didn't do a good job of inviting family who live out of the area (didn't do it at all, actually) so I am extra thankful and happy that they came down from Idaho. It is a long drive. I'm sorry I didn't get DH's sisters invited to come, one sister in particular, but it just didn't happen.
Kathy - you are so good to baby sit with dogs around since you have allergies. Do you take meds on the days when you are going there? I'm thankful your niece separated them and you didn't have to listen to the barking. I love dogs but not yappy ones! I'm typing this to the music of Honey's snoring! She hardly ever barks.
Well, we have a challenge of finding homeowner's insurance. Our policy was cancelled, many are experiencing that here due to the catastrophic fires that have happened the last couple of years. I'd appreciate your prayers that we can find affordable coverage. It looks like our timing in moving up here wasn't the best.
Just spent twenty minutes looking for my cat! We couldn't find him anywhere so thought maybe he slipped out while we had the door open. The farmers are still mowing hay so I figured that might scare him. Looked outside but couldn't find him. Then DS comes to the door and said found him! He was in our bedroom under the large computer disk sleeping on DH's suitcase he takes to the cabin! This cat is mostly black so he can be really hard to see at times. But DH had actually looked there and didn't see him!
Catherine, I usually take allergy meds when I get home.
I'm organizing again. I couldn't see the sizes or pictures on my punches so I labeled them. This is just the SU flat punches. And not even all of them!
Please come organize me, Kathy! Actually, it is too hot here to do anything. However, that is not stopping DD2 from working on her room. She is the only one who has done any painting in their room (or public rooms). She got her walls and most of her ceiling painted on one of her breaks last school year but never got the closet done as she wants it to be done. She has an entire plan for her room (including wanting to build bookcases and a dresser for her room). Today she has been painting the closet ceiling and walls. The back of the closet wall is getting painted with chalkboard paint. Should be interesting...and dark.

Catherine...such beautiful photos and I also love the display. I am a big fan of typewriters and books and was wonderful to see them on display and with her ballet shoes. Love everyone’s dresses. The cobalt blue your youngest daughter is wearing is one of my favourite colours.
Hope that you get your insurance sorted soon. We have to pay ours today...I cannot believe what they charge but unfortunately it’s necessary.

The pharmacist rang to say that our flu vaccine was in. Hubby has just come back and is happy so it can’t have been that bad. Unfortunately I can’t have mine until I’m well. I had a slight relapse last night...coughing and pain in one ear again. I’m being very lazy and still in my pjs but will seize the day soon. Weather did the usual overnight flip and is raining with a high of 57, after yesterday’s gorgeous sunshine and 70s. I’m so glad I bought more Zyrtec-D because my poor head can’t keep up with the fluctuations.
Catherine, i love today’s photos. Your DD2’s outfit is gorgeous. Did you get a shot of her high heels? . And I doubt I could have set up the display any nicer than your sweet DD1 did. I adored the photo of her as a ballerina!

I have a seven drawer cart that held my punches, but they were so heavy my cart was sagging. I got the idea to stand them on end in a basket but I couldn't see the sizes and shapes without pulling them out and couldn't tell between a circle and scalloped circle so I decided that my label maker would make this easier. I just need to get a couple of baskets that are heavy duty. This one is tough enough but all those punches are heavy so I'd like to put fewer in a basket to make lifting easier.
I just saw a raccoon crawl out from under DH’s work truck! Darn place is turning into an animal reserve! Chipmunks all over, raccoons, and a groundhog was outside the porch door the other day. I think it used to crawl into a corner to sleep, before I cleared all the junk out.
