Good Morning Friends! We had a wonderful weekend in northern Wisconsin. We went to an art fair at a greenhouse and bought a few plants too, spent time on the water in the pontoon and swimming/floating in inflatables, played corn hole, laughed, chatted, listened to Rebecca play guitar/sing and great good all weekend long! It was very hot all the time we were gone and will be here all week too. Today is catch-up day in the stamp room too. I hope you had a wonderful weekend and have a great week ahead!
Hi my Stamp Addict friends. Just thought I'd let you guys know that come July 31, I'm going to have more play time, time to craft, time to get organized, more time for school, and genealogy. Yep, I will be among the unemployed.

Maggie, I am assuming that was not what you were wanting to happen. If so, I'm sorry. Sending good thoughts your way.
Thanks Jeanette. I guess it just speeds up the inevitable that was going to happen in about two years anyway. I am very sorry for my boss. The new firm is not treating him very well at all. I would not be surprised if he left there and started his own business again, but I'm not counting on that either. The paralegal is not happy either. She hates it when I'm gone and she has to do my work. Now I'm going to be gone, but I won't be coming back.

It's too bad your boss, and you too, aren't being treated well. Such a mess.
It is, but now I have to deal with it - medical insurance, life insurance, what to do with my 401(k), etc. There's a man at church that is big into finances. I don't think he's a financial planner, but he knows a lot about that stuff and another man who is a CPA. I called the first one and he's to call me back. I need to get some guidance on what to do going forward.

It's good to have someone helping you process and figure out the best plan financially.
Yes, I am thankful for that. I also talked to my youngest DD who was helping care for her in-laws before they moved to Utah. She told me that the health insurance company that I am considering was one that they used and it was really good. I have a life insurance policy now, but I think that I can convert the policies I have at the firm for the same amount of insurance at half the cost. My policy is whole life, so if I cancel it, I should have some equity in it.

Well yesterday evening was interesting. The power went out - no weather going on outside - just poof! AND it was out for about 10 hours. It came back on a little after 4:00 this morning - the light woke me up. LOL! I'm so glad it's back, since the house was getting quite warm and we're heading into a heat wave. I'm so thankful for the workmen who labored through the night to get us back in working order.

Yikes, Jeanette. At least it was overnight so you didn't have to have power all that time, but not having a/c would be difficult for me because fans won't work and no air moving. Glad they are back on. We had a similar incident last week only it was in the morning when I was getting ready for work. There was no bad weather in the area and the lights just went out. Luckily they were only off for about an hour and a half.

Maggie, it actually went out about 6:00. Fortunately I'd already fed Brock... but DH was out mowing and the two of us hadn't eaten yet. (He got us cheeseburgers after he mowed since I couldn't cook or anything).
It was quite hot in the house by the time we gave up to go to bed. I slept okay, but DH can't handle heat so he did not. I hope he can sleep in a bit this morning as he leaves around noon for his trip and he'll be driving alone. Needs to stay alert for the drive.
That's sure odd about your electric issue, too. Wonder what's going on???

Oh, hope your DH has a safe trip. I'm usually okay in the morning, but by afternoon, I'd be dragging.
I have no idea. The power company have no reason for what happened.

Good Morning Friends! I was not online yesterday as I had an early morning meeting that went longer than usual, and then I stopped at my brother's house. We went out for lunch and I got home mid-afternoon. I was able to make a card to post tomorrow. We went to a wine dinner last night and had a nice time. It is raining this morning-a nice, slow rain after a few storms rolled through earlier. We must have had a micro-burst yesterday when we were both gone as many of the flowers and laying on their sides and there was over an inch of rain in the gauge! It is to be hot this afternoon and for the next few days. Tomorrow is our annual golf outing honoring a friend who died of cancer a few years ago. Pat and Wendy are flying in from Denver today and will stay until Monday. It is to be 97 tomorrow, so I am not sure we will golf all 18 holes! I will probably not be back online until Monday afternoon, so enjoy the week and be safe in the heat!
Thanks Maggie... he made it fine! Today he's not traveling far; he is in his home state (Kenucky) visiting with some aunts/uncles. Tomorrow he'll drive the rest of the way to Georgia where he'll be preaching the revival.

Good news Jeanette.

I am back and trying to get on a nrmal sleep schedule....! I somehow left my laptop in the airport in Amsterdam, so am using my old one- the display is broken, so I can only use it hooked up to the TV. SO, once hubby is in bed, I am on the computer! The laptop was found and turned in, so expecting it sometime next week- Wednesday approx.......
A fantastic trip- met relatives in Ireland, and I DID ride an e-bike. They have batteries and give you a touch of a boost, so that was great! I did have to take a couple of days off to rest my aching back, but was able to keep up and not sloe anyone down.
We sae Lion King with my daughter. She stayed over for an inservice. The entire time I was gone, it was never over 70.... I am back and it is in the 90's with a heat advisory- heat index 110. It is supposed to cool down tomorrow after a bit of rain.
Welcome home, Shelly! WOW! What an awesome trip!!!
Maggie, I hope you enjoyed the Houston Symphony with your DGD!
Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Jeanette. We did have a good time. I enjoy the one-on-one time that we have together.
The kids came over for dinner last night. I made a Thai dish over rice with salad and ice cream sundaes for dessert. Yummy. We played three games of Uno Attack. My DD won two games and my DGD won the third.

Good Morning Inky Friends! We have had a busy few days. Pat and Wendy came Thursday afternoon and we had the golf outing on Friday. The temps were forecast to by in the high 90's, but that did not happen until later in the afternoon as we had a breeze and cloud cover for most of the day. It was a wonderful day and lots of money was raised for a great cause! On Saturday, we went on a pedal tavern with some friends as the "event" was won in a contest. We got rained on and it was a fun 2 hours, but I can now say I did it and will not need to do again! Yesterday we went for a hike and then over to a friend's house for a cook out. The past four nights we have played Wizards every night and all have taken turns winning............. I need to cut the grass today, even though parts are brown, we had more than 5 inches of rain over 4 days the end of the week, so it is now long! I also hope to spend some time in the stamp room later. Have a fantastic day to start the new week!
Good Morning--today is Stamp Room Day for Me! We went to see the movie Maiden last night. It is a documentary about an all women's crew team for race to sail around the world in 1989. It is outstanding and is mainly in small theaters. Tonight we are going to play trivia with some friends! Happy Tuesday!
