Thanks. It was a tough day. I did enjoy lunch out with a GF. She's jobless right now too. She lives down around Galveston and invited me to go down and visit her there. Just a day trip. I'll probably take her up on it in a few weeks.

Good Morning--Project Organization is moving right along. Almost everything is put away and I stopped at Home Goods to pick up a few more various size bins-and they had the ones I bought on Amazon for $4 less! I do have a box of items to post on eBay and might get to that today. I did make a couple of cards yesterday and have a few more are on my agenda today! The weather has been just perfect as we have sunshine and temps in the 70's!
Just to let you know... I'm going out-of-town in a couple of hours. I'll be in a meeting all day tomorrow, arriving home about bedtime. Then DH, Brock and I leave early Monday morning for a 2-day meeting. So I'll not be back to SCS until Wednesday. See you then!
I jammed my right hand ring finger when I was reorganizing my 6 x 6 pads yesterday and it hurts like crazy. Looks a little swollen. :(
Slept in this morning until 8 a.m. Haven't done that in years even on weekends. Last night was the first night in years too that I did not close my kitties out of my bedroom last night. I was surprised that they didn't all end up on my bed, but I didn't have anyone bother me until about 4:15 and Casper came and messed with my face. Then I got up and put him out and closed the door and went back to sleep.

My finger is doing better Shelly, thanks for asking. It's still a little sore, but manageable.
Yesterday I worked on deep cleaning the two bathrooms. Mine was a mess but the other one went quickly. Tomorrow I'll work on the kitchen, dining room. I have book club at my house Thursday night and I want the main rooms all cleaned up by then. My storage room, craft room, and office will wait till after that.
Hope you stay well.

Good Morning. I had a good weekend in the stamp room as I completed 3 sets of swap cards, plus some additional cards. I met some friends Friday night at a Cajun restaurant and had yummy jambalaya--also had my leftovers for a late breakfast yesterday! I recorded and organized a swap yesterday and hope to start to swap it this afternoon. We are to get some storms this afternoon and tomorrow-Rebecca gets to the airport at 7:00 tonight, so I hope her flight is not affected. I hope you have a great start to the new week!

Good morning - Productive weekend Barb.
I'm working on cleaning the dining room/kitchen today except for floors. I'll do them on Thursday since book club is at my house that night and I want to make sure they are clean. I've been working on coloring up some images but haven't put any cards together yet.
I also have a painter coming this morning to give me an estimate on scraping and painting the white trim on my house.

Good Morning Inky Friends. Rebecca is home from her backpacking trip to Colorado. We had a storm roll through last night and since we are dog sitting, we were awake during most of it............................. We may go to a $5 Tuesday movie today. I hope you have a Terrific Tuesday!
It was a safe trip and good meetings, but now I'm so far behind that I may not be able to "ketchup" before I leave again on Sunday (for 4 days of meetings). Anyone else ever get that far behind?
Good Morning Friends. Happy Wednesday! We did not go to the movie yesterday as we both got busy around the house and the show times of Rocket Man did not work for us. I did spend a few hours in the stamp room and got quite a few cards done. Today I will swap out the variety cards to get them postal tomorrow. I hope your day is Wonderful!
Good morning. I spent yesterday in my computer room going through a ton of papers from school; tossed most of it. Filled my recycle can twice. Some of the papers I couldn't find on my computer, so I scanned them. I still have some more work to do out there - stack of recipes and magazines with recipes I want to keep. I'm thinking I'll scan the ones I really want to a folder on my computer and toss the paper.
I need to work on the living room today though to get it tidied up for book club tomorrow. I have to move chairs. I also need to make a grocery run. Need to make a meal plan for this week and get food for tomorrow.

Good morning. I made yummy cookies yesterday - stuffed chocolate chip. they have a filling of chocolate Nutella in them. Oh so good. I also made some brownie muffins and will frost them with a Nutella/milk chocolate frosting. I'm making sandwiches for book club - ham & cheese sliders and some roast beef finger sandwiches.
I need to do floors today.

Sounds yummy, Maggie! I'm sure the Book Club group will enjoy all the snacks!
Book club went great. We had a dozen ladies show up, about enough for my living room although I could have squeezed in one or two more. They loved the food and we enjoyed discussing the book - The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle. A great mystery story with lots of twists and turns.

Good Morning SCS Friends. Happy Friday. We went to the State Fair early yesterday morning, so I did not check in. We had a good time, saw some great exhibits, had my cream puff and some cheese curds - plus we rode the wonder wheel--16 stories tall!
I am usually not on SCS over the weekends and probably will be on very little next week. We are having our 3rd Great Aunt Camp next week. We have hosted our great niece/nephew Arlyn and Simone the past two years for 5 days and this year will add two of their cousins from central Wisconsin, Nayla and Trevin. So--4 kiddos from age 6-11 are coming Sunday afternoon and will stay here until Saturday. Our plans are to have them make a bird house for each family, go for a boat ride, go to a minor league baseball game, fishing, swimming, a trip to the zoo, with a stop at Buster & Dave's and some quiet time each day for reading. I am sure we will spend some time in the stamp room with them as we are planning to have each of them make a journal of their week. They will probably sleep in a tent one or more nights as that was a highlight with Arlyn and Simone last year! So--fun times ahead and I am sure tiring too! Next Saturday, I am meeting Arlyn and Simone's parents for drop off in the parking lot of the stamp Expo in Schaumburg, ILL. Is that a coincidence?????
So---I may not be here much in the next 8 days--have a great one!
FYI - I'm leaving right after church tomorrow to head to our state offices for meetings, meetings, meetings. I have 6 meetings in 3 days. LOL! So excited about the last of the 6 - it's a planning meeting for my upcoming mission trip to Hawaii! Sooooo... even though I will have my computer with me, it's unlikely that I'll have time to get here while I'm gone. So after today, you'll probably not see me again until Thursday.

Sounds like a great time with the kids, lots of fun things to do.

Jose finished up the outside painting. All the white areas outside have been renewed. It all looks great.
I had an insurance broker come by with recommendations for a new policy, so I got that taken care of.
Spent most of the day in my computer room going through personal papers and genealogy papers and getting rid of some that I don't need to keep. Did some scanning of some papers.
Had a phone call with a GF that used to live here but she moved to Colorado 17 years ago. We recently reconnected after I tracked down her new address last Christmas and sent her a card. We get together and chat every so often.

So sorry I am not checking in more often, I am reading on my phone, just so hard to type on my phone!!!
I got started on the DTGD challenges- and have only 3 more to go by Friday to complete all 39 of the challenges. I have been really digging out some older stamp sets and inking them up! I am going to start a major clean out after the challenges, so it will help me take a good look at all I have and what I use.
Both of my daughters have gone to Colorado to visit the new baby : ) Stephi is home and back to her research, Katie is there right now. It is amazing how much Rowan has grown!
I had a friend here for a couple of nights traveling through the area for a month her hubby died in April and it was a farewell to Wayne visit. I have known her for years- Katie and her daughter Jillian are the same age. We really bonded when caregiving. Her husband had Amolydosis of the heart (protein deposits in the organ), and he holds the record for the longest living individual in the world with that diagnosis.
Maggie and Barb, I have been following your cleaning and organizing adventures! Awesome!
Maggie- no milkweed here- nothing grew, so no monarch's at all!!!
Day two of great aunt camp is almost in the books. The kids are downstairs for movie night with Harry Potter and I am not a fan of those, so I decided to spend some time online. Yesterday we went to the Children's Museum--we got free tickets for all of us from the library, so keep that in the back of your mind-they also have free passes to a local YMCA that we will pick up if it rains one day. We also went to a minor league baseball game-the Milwaukee Milkman! Today some neighbors took us out in a boat and the kiddos went tubing. Tomorrow is fishing day and I will stay home and cut the grass. They made the cover to their journal yesterday and I brought out the bins of stickers I will never use! They write in it each morning of what they did the day before! We are all having a great time!
OH look at Barb making the kids do homework while on summer vacation - writing in journals! LOL! I did that same thing - and they loved it! Good on you!
Not a fan of Harry Potter? We. are. not. friends. hee hee!
Hi Maggie, sounds like you are enjoying retirement days! We are reading The Guest Book this month - it's a good one so far. My TBR list is HUGGGGGGGGGGGGGE! One day!
school starts Monday! I'm actually ready. My son is excited. High school!! He had drama camp today and it was a meet and greet and get to know each other. He said they were VERY very nice. He's excited to go to HS so I'm finding it catchy. Not looking forward to the shuffle, but it's 10 minutes from my house
Maggie, I'm glad you and your friend reconnected, I'm sure that you two have lots to talk about.
Maxine, do you suppose Barb needs a nap - or early bedtime during camp???
Shelly - WOW! Way to go on DTGD!!! I really wanted to participate... but could not even squeeze in time to do one of the challenges. I'm pathetic!
Barb, it sure sounds like there is a lot of fun happening at your house. (I am sorry about the fact you lost a friend, though I doubt Kelly is serious about that. ;))
Oh, oh! Does that mean this year's commute will not be nearly as long, Kelly? I hope that's true.
I'm home again... great meetings these past three days. I have lots and lots of minutes to type and present to our state's Executive Director and am behind on things at home, too... but so worth it to be able to be a part of the meetings.
I've spent a few days cleaning up and cleaning out old paperwork some household and a ton of old genealogy papers that I don't need anymore because it's all online - like copies of census reports. I finally got done with all that sorting and tossing yesterday. I did have a glitch for about a day when my Internet and U-verse TV went out. Ugh! I hate having to call tech support. I had to call twice. First time was because one TV was having intermittent drops; very annoying. Then later that night my whole system went out. No TV, no internet. Gave me a little stamping time. I called back and they decided to send a technician out to the house. So yesterday, all of a sudden my landline phone rang which is connected to my U-verse so it was also out. I went and checked my Internet and it was back on. My whole system was back on except for the main TV in the living room. No video signal. I kept the appointment for this morning. The technician came and it seems that the cable to the receiver was bad and not working, so all he had to do was replace that cable and I'm back in business.

Welcome home Jeanette. Glad your meetings went well.
Kelly, sounds like a good year coming up for DS. Do you still have to taxi around DD's?
Barb, well, I would love to be watching Harry Potter with the kids. I am a big fan and have been taking my DGD to see the movies at the Houston Symphony for awhile now. The next one "Half-Blood Prince" is in April. I need to see about getting tickets.
Maxine, I saw you peeking in. Hope all is well down under.
Shelly, All my chrysalises have turned into butterflies. I released about 14, but sadly had 4 that did not develop properly, so lost them. Our weather has been very HOT, HOT, HOT, so no more butterflies have been coming around. I did see a couple Gulf Fritallaries flying around the other day, but no Monarchs.
I think today I'm going to get some stamping done. I was going to take my car in for service, but since the TV guy was coming, I'll put that off until next week. I also have to make a trip to the SSA. I need to get there early though so I don't have to wait in a long line. Ugh!
