Maggie--congrats on releasing the butterflies. I bet that is satisfying. Like Shelly, we also have orioles and hummingbirds the past few weeks. The orioles will only stay for a bit but the hummers stay all summer.

Good Morning SCS Friends. I have a stamp class at Sarah's this morning and then I am going to stay longer to complete a class that I missed last week due to the shelter interviews. Another cool day here with possible rain, but it is getting better for the remainder of the week and right now it looks like a warm and dry long weekend ahead!
Hello Ladies--I have a second post today as I need to share some excitement and tell you of a great company. I few months ago I found an online place that makes covers that fit over a Scan n' Cut. There were some fun fabrics to chose from and it is made reversible so you get to pick two patterns if you cannot make a decision! I was excited to get one and cover my machine--just to keep out the dust. I was so happy with it when I received it, I asked Denise, the creator, if she made covers for a Big Shot. I have never covered any cutting machine--my first Cuttlebug 15 years ago nor the two Big Shots since then. But, I loved the first cover so much, I wanted a coordinating one. Denise said she had never made one, but would try. Fast Forward to this week and I received a sweet cover in the mail. It is the same creative fabric on one side and a similar coffee pattern on the other side. The Big Shot cover is not listed on her website yet, but I am sure if you asked, she would make one. Please tell her I sent you over.................... So--here is some pictures and links if anyone else is interested.
She makes covers for Misti's too and other bags. Her daughter Suzanne, was the creator of So Suzy Stamps and got to know Illiana, of My Sweet Petunia quite well. That is how all of this started. Enjoy:
My sister brought my Aunt over tonight (Mom's youngest sis), we visited, had dinner-and dessert, then Skyped my other Aunt. It was nice, but tired afterwards!. It was 80 here today, so hit the streets in the neighborhood walking! Doc says walk, walk, walk. 8000+ steps today. Tonight, I watched video's of my favorite You Tube Physical Therapists - legs and hips stiff, so found some easy exercises to do- most isometric, and I cleared one with doc on Tuesday. Still no driving, so stuck at home for another week!
Off pain meds since last Saturday, just Motrin and Tumeric- miracle med for me!!! Still on low dose of muscle relaxant.
Maggie- how wonderful with the butterflies!!! I saw your FB post- cannot wait for that joy!
Barb- so nice you have a great person who has stamp parties- mine moved to Florida, and others closeby- just OK- my friend- her cards were beautiful!!! Oh well...... Cool covers for your machines! Double sided- that is really cool!
We have a male Hummingbird that has been perching outside of the dining room window- makes for some really awesome pictures!

Beautiful bird photos Shelly. I released two more butterflies yesterday. In the morning I had seen one that had just come out of it's chrysallis. It's wings were still all bunched up.
I really miss having a demo here in town although I don't know when I'd have time to go to a party, but I guess I would make time.
Glad you are progressing. I made an appointment with my orthopedist for 2 weeks to talk about my low back and see what's going on. It's been about 3 years since I have seen him. The last time I was there was when I broke my arm.

My two guys and I are leaving in the morning to go out-of-state for a Family Gathering. We'll be home Monday night, so I'll see you again on Tuesday morning!
Good Morning Friends! I am off to help a friend with a rummage sale today. It is a bit rainy now and will rain much more tonight. We have a couple of plans this weekend--cookout with Rebecca's former co-worker tomorrow afternoon. On Sunday, some friends got a new smoker and we are going to test some ribs. Memorial Day Monday--no plans. We hope to spend some time in the gardens as it might be nice a few days.
Just like that, Memorial Day weekend snuck up on us!!! Yikes!!! We have a 4 yr old Birthday party on Sunday at my sisters- about 1 1/2 hours from here. I am planning on going, just might need to lay down in the back seat for the ride. I cannot go in the pool- no pools or hot tubs for 6 weeks after surgery, so 6/24 is my *** date for swimming : )
Maggie- so wonderful you are still doing the Monarchs- and you got me doing them! This year, I tried Milkweed from seeds- first, from some overwintered outdoors. None grew. Then, I planted some from seeds a full tray, and so far just one kind has broken ground (I think it is the same kind I already had in the yard). I need a green house like Barb : )
Barb and Jeanette are off to the races having an action packed weekend!

Hi to you all - apart from Jeanette who has run away again.... waving frantically at her in the hopes she may see..
It's been a glorious autumnal day here, and I spent the middle part of it at one of the grandson's birthday party... we had toasted marshmallows, sausages and damper (dough cooked on a stick over the fire) ... and lots of smoke. My DIL then put a tin of baked beans in the embers and we watched it explode - it was hilarious! The first one was a tear tag type, and it exploded into a fountain quite quickly, and Amy got sprayed (thankfully they weren't very hot - just messy. The second can was a fully sealed one and made a really good explosion, much to the boys excitement!
I also had lots of cuddles with Annalise, who is growing up too quickly!!
I did manage a couple of cards after I got home - one sympathy and one DT - two more to make tomorrow - a birthday and a thanks, and I will be up to date for my time away, which starts on Monday!!
My stitches are all out, and I only have the physio's plaster on. Unfortunately the report came back on my neck biopsy and it was a cancer (Basal cell carcinoma) and the doctor did not get it all, so now I have to have it out up at the Plastics Clinic as it is near a vein in my neck, just to be awkward!! I am going there for the follow up on the other excisions on the 11th of next month, so will get it looked at then. Oh the joys of enjoying the sunshine and living outside as much as I could as a youngster.
Waving to you all... I may not say anything while I am away as I will only have my phone, and there is no internet access at the home, but there is wi fi in town...
Oh Maxine, your Annalise is a sweet wee babe and I love the photo of you two!
And equally sorry to hear that the biopsy shows that - I know you will be on top of it and receiving the best care... and add my hugs to that!

Butterflies are doing pretty good.
I spent a little time outside yesterday.. I released four more butterflies and found a few babies. I see evidence of babies, but not them. I have seen a couple wasps around, so they may be getting to them before I do. I've seen butterflies flying around too, so I should have a ton of eggs. It's funny though because sometimes I think I don't have any and then in a week or so, I see them about medium size. I guess they are good at hiding when they are little.

Shelly, I hope you are careful with the driving. That is a long trip. My DD in CA just has "mesh" surgery on Wednesday. She seems to be doing okay with the recovery - resting.
I bought some seeds, but haven't planted them yet. I was thinking I would do that in the Fall and hopefully they will do well and be ready in the Spring. I'm going to try to winter over some plants again this year.

Going over to DD's house later today for a combined Memorial Day/Graduation Party for my DGD. She's now a college grad and looking for a job as well as applying for her Master's. Wow!

I've been working on a client report and did some work on it at the office on Friday. I had a few things left to do and was going to mail it out on Saturday. When I tried to look at it Friday night, it was gone!!!!!! Somehow it had gotten corrupted and I couldn't open it. I am so careful about closing documents and existing out of flash drives after it tells me I can. So I spent the majority of yesterday reconstructing it. Lucky I had all the attachments with the citations printed at the bottom, so I didn't have to recreate them too. That's what takes so long. I had about 25 attachments. The report is just about done and on my laptop and the flash drive. I am going to email my client the report and then mail him the report and attachments tomorrow. Technically, I don't have to send it to him until after I receive his check for the balance he owes me, but I know him and have worked with him before, so I don't mind sending it. He said he was sending the check, so I believe that.

OH this has been one EVENTFUL day and it's only 2 pm! We started off with a Target Run 'n Done! Alice needed a few things and it was packed, ready and brought to the car - one stop shopping! My son and I zipped over to the local cemetary (you may have seen that on Facebook) where we put flags on the graves of fallen soldiers, men and women. It was somber and heartfelt and quite humbling.
Now, we're home and all in the pool and Alice is working on her swim legs in the baby pool floats - she's a water baby just like my 4 were. Tonight is our bbq and cookout
and outside yard games - including lawn chess, ROFL!
Is this the theater DGD? I wish her well! We keep trying to convince our dd #2 to get her masters but she wants zero part of it! Have fun at the party!
And yikes about the computer and the research - I'm glad you wer eable to salvage the report. Sounds like a nice client to work with!

Shelly, WOW! I'm not sure I'd want to make that trip so soon after back surgery. You amaze me! I hope you had a great time!
Our trip was very enjoyable. Saw a lot of people I haven't seen in years. Weather was fabulous (it was to rain every day, but the rains only came in the night until yesterday so it didn't interfere with our daytime activities). Tried a restaurant I've wanted to try for years - and it was awesome. Made a side trip to Osceola, where my grandparents lived many years, and went to the Cheese Factory to get some cheese curds for our DD to enjoy while she's here. (YAY! She's coming a week from tomorrow!!!) Yep, great weekend!
Now today is all about Ketchup. Being gone for four days means there's a lot of catching up to do. ;)
Good Morning Friends! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend too! We worked outside all three days and feel like we did accomplish quite a bit in the gardens--all pots and baskets moved out from the greenhouse, lots buck-thorn cut out from behind two trees recently removed, 4 curly willows trimmed, 4 or 5 flats of annuals from the greenhouse planted in the ground--whew............ that sounds like a lot! We had supper all three nights at friends's house, so no cooking here. We are heading to church this morning to wash windows and then hopefully some inky time. We are heading to northern Wisconsin on Thursday for a long weekend. Have a Great One!
Happy Wednesday! We are leaving early tomorrow morning, so I will probably not be here tomorrow, so I will wish you a happy rest of the week and a good weekend. We are coming home from up north early Sunday morning as we have a retirement party for my former Superintendent--he is also a good friend of mine. See you all on Monday!
Smooshy is gone, and instead, we get a hairy coconut with big eyebrows and eyes!

Maggie- Oh, how terrible to do all of that work and poof! What a blessing you could retrieve all of the bottom and resources! We really have no Milkweed for the butterflies to land on yet. I have some small ones that I started from seed- and mine usually come up later. Maybe I will go to the nursery tomorrow.
Kelly, I did finally see the cemetery pictures for Memorial Day- it is so wonderful that flags are put on the graves and that people reflect on the meaning of the day. (except the speaker of the house in Ill- called the Ill house to work on Memorial Day weekend to vote on an abortion bill- very very terrible- all the way to birth and no limitations..... a very sad day).

I'm home with another migraine today - these are getting awful. I wish I knew why - I wake UP with them! I have always had them, they went away, now they are back....
The Kid is home from all events - at least until a few hours, lol! The Orlando trip was so-so - he said it was hot, lots of confusion in his group but still a good time! The dance was hoppin! Now today he has back to back pool/birthday parties ...... to which I say - Where is my weekend!?! LOL!!
Alice is officially ready for some pork chops! The baby now has ........ 5 teeth! Almost 6! Gracious ...... every day we wake up, there's a new one. She is truly such fun.
We've been purging, unboxing, reboxing SO. MUCH. STUFF!! We're having our HUGE garage sale on Saturday - and so I would'nt change my mind, I put it in the paper. Oh my - the phone is ringing nonstop and texts left and right. What are you selling? It's in the ad! Are you selling the HOUSE, too? Uh, NO!
Kelly, I hope you're feeling better today. UGH about the migraines! And what!?!?! I would never call someone having a yard sale before the sale... that's wild.
It's going to be a great Monday here - a bit of cleaning, a bit of creating; then we're off to St. Louis! Our DD is flying in just after midnight, so we've booked a hotel near the airport. YAY! I get to see my DD soon!!! (It's been a year; the hazards of having a daughter who lives in the bush of Alaska.)
Sooooo.... if I don't pop in here some time later today, you'll likely not see me until Wednesday. (I'm not sure what time we'll get home tomorrow.)
