Anne, I'm going to start checking your blog everyday. It'll be nice to keep tabs with someone on this, as I don't have anyone (friend or family) to do this with me. For the rest of the month, it is my goal to create two V-day cards every weeknight and around ten cards on the weekend so I have a bunch to sell before the 14th. After that, I'm going to start working on Easter, Mother's Day and all-occasion cards. In between these I can create the alterables.
By the way, I see you're from Ireland. I LOVE celtic music. Ireland is one of my dream vacation destinations.
Hi Tina, Sorry I have not updated my blog in last week or so. I have been redecorating my craft room and emptied out my entire craft room and dismantled my main computer. I had a good tidy out of stuff I just will not use again. I'm feeling great now that it is finished and I am looking forward to crafting again. A large supply of tins have arrived to make the tooth fairy tins and I have just bought the digi image from Whimsie Doodles. So I will be making them in the next few days. I intend to make 120 or so for charity. I am also expecting a large supply of notebooks to alter in time for March 13th, a big fair I will be participating in.
So I will be busy for the next few weeks.
How have you been getting on ? Have you continued with the card making each night.
I try not to be too rigid in my plans. Otherwise it can get stressful when life as it does gets in the way. I often remind myself that what I am doing is for FUN too !
I searched the SCS gallery for Valentine's crafts, but there wasn't much. I am supposed to be selling for a boutique this weekend and so far I've made the candy bar sliders and sour cream containers and I still need to make some rose buds bouquets out of kisses. Anything other suggestions? This is a small boutique in one of our local salons.

How about some valentine bookmarks? Here is a link to Mish Mash's blog with lots of bookmarks for inspiration. They could easily be made valentine themed.

Long skinny notebooks altered as shopping lists are a sure seller for me. I know some of the ladies here got large pads cut down by their printers if they were unable to get the long skinny ones. I got the idea from the Mish Mash site.
I have collected some small jars & Starbucks frappuccino jars and am filling them with candy (Kisses, Tootsie Rolls, M&Ms, etc) and decorating the outside for Valentine's gifts this year. I am also making paper boxes filled with candy using the Tags, Bags, Boxes & More Cricut cartridge.
Ok, I have a question. I was just contacted to see if I could make table favors for an upcoming benefit auction with a Wizard of Oz theme. They need 120 favors to give to each guest and the auction is a month away. Anyone have any neat, yet simple ideas since I have to make 120?
Have you seen the paper shoes? I know they have some in the gallery here - probably under witch shoes. They are easy to put together since there's a pattern. I made a bunch for Halloween and even Christmas.
Thank you ladies for the ideas! I will make up a few ideas and let them choose which one(s). I am hoping they like all of them, because I get bored easily so I would like to make a few of several different designs. I am now on a hunt for a ruby red slipper svg file to be able to cut them out with my Cricut. If you know where I might find one let me know.

I copied both of the links and can post them but don't know how to rename the long link that comes up when I copy the link site.
For example, when you find a link, you can rename it to a shorter link?? I want to name the first link 'test tubes', and the 2nd one 'round tins'
Can you explain to me how to do it?
Never mind about my converting question.
I had a long link entered, asking how to convert it for to a shorter name.
WOW! the forum site did that automatically for me. I am impressed.

LOL. Oh Lynne I do exactly the same thing. Yes the forum set up is brilliant.
My mom took my stuff to a last minute show at a school on Saturday. She made $139. That was great since it was mostly middle school children in attendance! The big seller was journals, which didn't go at the Christmas shows at all. She sold out. Necklaces were also a good seller. I was happy with it since it was an unexpected sale for me!

Well done! That was a great boost. Well done to your mom too.
I had my Valentines Boutique this past weekend. There were maybe 15 people that walked into the salon. It was very disappointing and I really didn't want to pay the table fee of $20 since I don't think they did a good job of advertising or promoting it, but I did. I started packing at 4:00 and unfortunately, they asked. I sold only $71 worth but after taking away the $20 table fee and the $18 that I spent on candy, I made about $30. I guess it's better than 0, but...
I did get some outside orders and met a lady that I feel like we're going to be friends. She had the table next to me and we talked the entire time.

So all in all, not bad.
Good for you. If you sold 71 dollars worth with very few possible customers your items must be lovely. You inspire me with your positivity. We all have some not so great sale days but it is fun to chat with other stall holders. TFS.
I try to be positive afterall I love crafting and I do this for fun. As a lot of us, I work full time because I have to and I do this stuff because I want to.
One lady had a table and was for Passion Parties. Well, she asked me to help her make little gifts for her sales team. I'm not quick on the spot as far as ideas so I told her I'd call her. This is what I came up with...have you guys ever made the microwave popcorn sleeves? Well, I'm going to do that and add the words "Keeping things poppin' in the bedroom". HA HA! I thought it was so perfect and she loved it too. I'm making 20 of them for her.

I am not sure if this is the right thread to ask this, but hopefully someone out there can help me! I am looking for gift bags, plain, solid colors. Hoping to get an assortment in bulk. Anyone have any suggestions? I am looking for small, med. and large sizes... also, I have a place in a shop I sell my work as well as just getting back into the craft fair scene, after almost 10 years off...so, does anyone have any suggestions for some "new" things for the spring/summer time? I am looking for Easter, Mother's Day, and Father's Day, or other ideas to get some new things out?
Thanks!
Kristin

As far as the paper bags go I found that Paper Mart is really good to deal with, and they have a great supply. Good luck!!

I have my first stall for this year tomorrow
I am holding my first stall for the year, tomorow in a holiday town we are visiting whilst travelling around Western Australia. I have no idea of what to expect as far as customers goes. I can only take & sell a few items - nearly all explosion boxes, as we are travelling in a caravan and there is very limited room for storage. Also I will be contending with 39 degree Celcius heat (over 100F for you Americans - so i am not looking forward to that, but at least it starts at 6am and finishes at noon. I just finished my latest explosion box just in time. Deets of box on my blog. Wish me well.

They are really lovely. They should sell really well for you. Best of luck to you tomorrow. Enjoy the sunshine and the heat. It is sunny but cold here in Dublin, Ireland but it is not stopping me going out to do some gardening today. I have two sweaters on at the moment.

Well I am back from my first stall for the year and basically it was not a good turn out. The temperature had dropped thankfully to about about 36 degrees (96.7 F) but with a breeze which made it a lot more bearable. Thanks to suggestions on this forum, the glass pebbles held my boxes down beautifully from blowing off the table. However I only sold 1 box and a few cards. My neighbours who are locals said the client numbers were down a little but they too had poor sales. Thye blame it on the extreme heat we are having here. I am going to try again next week in a neighbouring town (35km or 21 miles) if I can get in. It is a well-to-do vineyard country with plenty of tourist plus it is a holiday long weekend here then. Maybe it will be better then. My husband thinks it is not worth it but I want to try again.

That is a shame Michelle. Perhaps next weekend will be better. The holiday weekend may bring more people out to potter around markets and fairs. Hopefully the stall fee today was not too expensive and that the company with other stall holders was fun.
