I have been looking lately at the glass tile pendants for necklaces. I think I am going to start making some for this fall. I already do the glass magnets, but have lost my local supplier for the clear glass.
I have found a very cool place called Sun and Moon with really good prices. They also sell on Etsy and have a facebook page. have a look. I am trying to decide what to order because it all looks so fun.

Yes, I have been ordering from them and have been very happy with everything that I have received so far.

ok..I am travelling a bit this week-end, and went to an area with a Ben Franklin store.
Can I just say I loved this store!!
My husband told me it was like Michaels hopped up on steroids!! hahaha
I spent quite a bit too.\They had alot of the large glass pieces I have been looking to buy on Etsy.

Anyone know where to buy real scrabble tiles from??

Hi Diane,
Here's a link to the Hasbro replacement parts website:
Details Print - SKU:4024

May beat "scouting missions" looking for old games.

I use Ebay.com. You can get 100 tiles for only $10 or 300 tiles for around $20.

Staples has mini pens on sale until Saturday, May 7. They are a brand called Xeno and there are five pens in the package for $1.00. Call first to make sure your store still has them. Thanks for all the ideas everyone!

Staples has mini pens on sale May 8 to May 14. They are the Staples brand mini gel pens- pack of 12 for $2.00. This should be the right size for the post-it note holders with the pen attached at the top or side. Thanks again for all the great ideas!

Sun and Moon website:

They are also on Etsy but the shipping cost is cheaper from the website..and easier to navigate too.

How do you drill such a teeny-tiny hole? My hubby is not very handy and will need directions!
I would like to drill holes in the scrabble tiles... is there a specific size drill small enough?

The other thing I would like to make is a large magnetic board. I saw one as a display in a store. I looks like sheet metal with a frame around it. Anyone know how I could make this? Can I cut sheet metal??

Question for those who altered and sold regular size composition notebooks- did you cover only the outside of the cover or the insides, too?
Thanks.

I have done it both ways, but think it looks better with the inside covered, especially if the theme it isn't geared towards kids.

Jenn,
Did you just do the inside with co-ordinating plain paper- no embellishments?

I just used white cardstock with no embellishments. I didn't want to add a lot more cost and since the paper on the inside of the notebooks is white, I think it looks good and more finished.

Judi: I do as Jenn noted....cover it with white cardstock. For one thing, it hides the DSP fold-over from the front cover, and for another, it makes it look more 'finished', I think. When they are purchased for gifts, as they often are, it also gives the giver a place to personalize the gift for the recipient.

HTH,
Kat

I used a solid color of cardstock to coordinate with the pattern on the front.

Default Altered Composition Notebooks

This is one of the prettiest inside covers I have seen:
YouTube - Altered Journal - Crate Paper

And here are some great examples for different covers. I just love the butterfly one, it is gorgeous.

Default what is your favorite cricut cartridge?

I am buying a cricut machine and want to cut out letters and want to buy a couple of graphic cartridges. I want to buy only a few--those that I can use for the most things. The lettering will be used primarily for stencils and etching, I think.
What basics would you suggest I get? Can a cricut cut smaller than 1"?
I will be buying "Storybook" for some lettering, but it appears to be all caps. I will need small and large caps and want an all purpose one for graphics.

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

I love the origami box, but how would you begin to price this for selling? The paper would cost only $2 at maximum but the time????

I would love to drill a hole but I can't drill and I don't want to ask hubby so what I do is cut a sideways 'V' near the end of the pencil and then tie a lovely fibrous thread around the pencil at the 'V' mark and draw it tight. Never falls off. I used to cut a fine 'ring bark' line around the pencil but found that though it works wonderfully it is not necessary.

Hope it helps those that don't drill!

I don't know what price I would sell them for because I have never done any craft fairs. I am excited to start doing craft fairs, and I have recorded all kinds of information off this site. I plan to sit down and compare pricing on items versus what people said sold well for them. Thank you to all the posters for this valuable information!

Default Looking around & found these

I am crook and bored and someone stole my energy so I am just plodding around SPS and some websites. I saw these lovely party favor purses in the anything but a card gallery that I think would make a wonderful addition to the craft stall table.
I am not confident if can do a direct link but here it is is if it works and here is her photo just in case.
I hope I haven't broken any rules here. Please forgive me and teach me to ensure I don't step on anyone's toes again!

These are really cute and look easy to make. So, now we have the 'what to price them at' dilemma. Any suggestions anyone?

It's a tough question. Could the box be packaged flat perhaps and sold as a gift box. Maybe a couple of samples filled could encourage buyers and perhaps different themed boxes - childrens parties goodie boxes, halloween favours, hostess gifts, christmas from our house to yours.

BTW I just got around to making a Santa's Key tag and pocket. Check out gallery and blog.

I need ideas on how to attach velcro to the mini portfolios made from file folders (or of another way to keep them closed). The velcro pieces end up detaching when the folder is opened, and I'm not sure which adhesive would be best to make sure they stay down.

The velcro is self-adhesive, but I've also tried Scor Tape (that completely covers the velcro) and hot glue. Both end up not sticking after awhile. Maybe I need to do something like magnetic closures, but I'm afraid that I'll have the same problem with them not staying attached.

Would really appreciate any help because these are really cute, and I have about 15 made but can't sell them if they keep coming undone. Thanks!!

i would use 2 part epoxy glue, that sticks anything and everything. hope this helps.

I am trying to make an order form for customers to fill out and leave with prepayment at the craftmall where I have a space. I cannot figure open office out. Anyone computer savvy. That can help me out. I would like to do 2 order forms per page.
