Sharon, I think it looks so charming! I love sunflowers, they brighten everything! Love those high areas above your cabinets too!!
Running around day here. Run to Lowe’s for house and garden supplies, run to the grocery for food, run to the airport to pick up DSM, drop her off at home, run to the fast food place for supper, and run home, where we changed into scruffy clothes and collapsed on the couch!

I'm not packing anything Kandie. I think I will just wear it and hope for the best. The wedding is at 4:30 p.m. I sure hope with that late start that they plan to do pictures before the ceremony! Otherwise we won't be staying after the ceremony and will just have to grab a bite on the way home.
Thanks, Kandie. I really like sunflowers too, that is why I have so many. I will put some outside in pots after our flowers die off from the heat.
The reason, I didn’t like the sunflowers up there at first, because, it had been pretty plain since I took down the Poinsettia at Christmas. At first it looked cluttered to me. But I got used to it. I was glad because I wasn’t looking forward to getting back up there.
Kathy , I like the clothes you bought for the wedding too. I would have bought them too! You, and I and Kandie, must like same things, well, the colors anyway!
Gracie, trying to keep activities straight for three kids sounds overwhelming! And how fun to have a craft retreat this weekend. I want to come!
Sharon - I like the sunflowers up there. They are so cheerful!
Happy to report that DD1 was feeling better at the end of her shift today than she was yesterday. I'm glad she is adapting quickly and she said she is enjoying it. She did mention that they had a rude customer today. I'm sure she was the first of many she'll "enjoy" if she keeps working retail. It is amazing to me how people feel so free to be so rude. When I asked her more about it, today's rude customer wasn't rude so much as extremely impatient.
Kandie, I decided I will pack clothes to wear home so I can get comfy for that long ride. Only making the trip for DH. I sure do NOT want to go. But DH doesn't ask a lot and is so wonderful that I won't say no.
Forgot to tell you that our mechanic says my cars problem is the starter so he's ordered the part and will fix it. I'm glad we didn't waste money on a new battery! The starter probably costs less, except we will pay labor to have it put in.
Sharon, I like the sunflowers, too. I was going to suggest you leave them up for a week and then decide if you still wanted them up or not, but it sounds like you already decided to leave them.
I had a good time with my sister. I just took a few stamps, black stazon ink and white card stock, and watercolor pencils & blender pen, so I just stamped and colored. I put together 3 cards after I came home.
I don't know that I mentioned where she plans to start college. Her plan is to take classes at our local community college for the first year, possibly two years. That way she can get classes very inexpensively and then transfer to a four year college.
Ann, my sister is doing OK. The dimentia has not seemed to progress any more. She hasn't been uploading any cards, because she can't remember how and doesn't want to bother her DH to help her every time. So I don't think she has been on SCS much lately at all.
Aloha All just popping in for a fast I miss you all so. Dry mi h and love ya all....
Don't know if I have read enough of chatter since I'm trying to not strain my eye Much since it hasn't healed as I would have hoped by now. It's still blood red as ever .pain mahalo god comes and goes mostly when I strain and don't rest it and being my iPad is being a poopy butt and not charging I'm now having to strain on this lil phone so I'll be short as possible.
Sis Kathy love you Much and mahalo fairy much!!! Can't believe I didn't have any but weee now I have and love them and they will have lots of love soon as I can...I'm already antsy.woth so many ideas just no taking risk now since I now realize how important these eyes are and the only ones I have. Just so disappointed in the right side which I never thought was a issue till after this surgery. Just had to come and mahalo you Sis .
Congratulations Sis Karen!!! So well and richly deserved!!! Any Alpha I feel deserves to have that honor being the so loving and supporting sisterhood on this site !!! Granted their are many on Scs as well but I just feel the alphas rock !!! In truth all of you are more of a sister to me then those born to me. So yes more then words Sistah!!!
I love you all and sorry I have to get off and can't comment on much just know I miss and love you all!!!
Happy Thursday everyone...phew I’ve been uploading cards for my challenge and others....gosh it takes a while but now done and I can relax and see what other challenges I have to do...a lot..lol.
Gracie, so glad you enjoyed time with your poppets. It is tiring but what fun. Enjoy your craft retreat...can I come too with Catherine? Lol
Sharon, your flowers do look cheerful and love your kitchen. I also have a dresser similar which is now in my craft room. I have photos and knock knacks on top of it...grouped in 3s...lol. I also hang things off the drawer handles. It so reminds me of mine. I like the country cottage look...even though our current home isn’t country....and some bookcases and cabinet have things on top of them, such as cats or dogs dangling their legs...I love quirky things lol.
Catherine, glad DD1 is settling into her job. It takes time and there’s always going to be difficult customers. My mantra used to be...the customer is always right lol.
Yep I finished my cards...finally. I chose reading first lol.
Kandie, I also worked from aged 15 babysitting first and then helping my sister and her hubby delivering milk. Yep I used to get up at 5am and run around the streets whilst everyone was sleeping delivering milk, eggs and cream. In winter it was horrendous...this was in the UK many years ago...well not that long ago as I’m a young chick....lol...not. I then did summer jobs whilst studying typing and filing jobs. I had no choice as my parents didn’t have much. Our boys all got part time jobs from aged 16/17...in retail and also delivering pizzas when they got their licences. Hubby used to help on their family farm.
I hope that your finger doesn’t hurt too much and heals quickly. Love the craft quote...and so funny about the pillow case.
Kathy, enjoy the wedding. You may find once you get there that you enjoy it.
Hi Karen and congrats again.
Hi Melody, good to hear that you enjoyed your time with your sister.
Hi sis Vicki...I sent you happy mail this week.....keep healing and be good.
If I’ve missed anyone, sorry....but hello.
Enjoy your day.

Jayne, I mailed your birthday card on June 3. Maybe I should have mailed it even earlier! I hope it arrives for your birthday! I'm up early waiting on fed ex to pick up those extra punchboards. I got up around 7, and its just now 8:00 a.m.
Thanks Kathy for thinking of me....Mail does seem to take up to 3 weeks to get here and also from here to the States and Canada. It may arrive tomorrow. I shall look forward to receiving it. Hugs.
I hope the Fedex man arrives soon and doesn’t go to your back porch...lol. Have a wonderful day.

Good morning to all. Rain rain rain and more rain today and since last night. DH just mowed the lawn so he is already complaining about the height of the grass, although even he has to admit the grass is so green and lovely.
Kathy, that’s right, you bought that beautiful outfit at kohl’s for the wedding. I’m tempted to print out the photo of it on typewriter paper and take it to our kohl’s to see if I can find the same lovely items!
Sharon, you have real sunflowers in your yard? What happens to them after they are done blooming? Do you have to cut them down? Do you have squirrels everywhere? DH tells me squirrels love the seeds.
Catherine, sorry to say but your DD1 will sure learn about rude and impatient people now that she’s out in the retail field. And I’m glad her feet are getting used to being on those cement-covered-with-thin-carpet floors.
Kathy, FEd Ex here just sends me an email that says “out for delivery by 8 pm” which is absolutely no use whatsoever! And glad your car problem is just the starter and not a major repair.
Melody, I’m so sorry your sister is showing the signs of dimentia, and I’m glad you are still able to spend time with her doing enjoyable things.
Little Sis, sweetie, so glad to hear from you! Now, PUT THAT PHONE DOWN! Rest those poor red eyeballs! My eyes water in sympathy every time you write, lol.

Kandie, the blouse is by Lauren Conrad and called Flutter Sleeve Blouse. They may have had other colors, but I fell in love with this color of pink and was sold! The white Capri's are Dana Buchman slimming mid rise.
When DH’s grandchildren visit, they are all married and in their 30s and they chat with him. I’ve only been in the family for less than 3 years so I don’t know them well. However, when his one great-granddaughter visits, who is 9, I love it! She has taken to me and I to her, and she always runs to my craft area to see what I’ve made. I haven’t made anything for a long time since being involved in the “renovation” of the ugly back porch. She ran out there and was twirling in circles telling me how much she loved the chairs and plants. Then she kicked off her flip flops, plopped into a wicker chair (pieces broke off underneath, lol) and proceeded to tell me many creative ideas for decorating. The one I found the sweetest was her idea that I should hang fairy lights all over the ceiling!
Kathy, I agree, you are a spoil sport for removing your unmentionables. For all you know, seeing them might have brightened the Fed Ex driver’s entire day!

Morning Kandie....my iPad is on charge and I’m waiting for a show to start on tv but soon hubby and son3 will be home and my quiet time will be gone lol. Our footy team won..yay.
So sweet of the little poppet to suggest fairy lights....our DGD would probably say the same.
Have a fun day ladies. I can’t stop thinking of the FedEx man and seeing Kathy’s undies even though he didn’t. Hope they are small and lacey Kathy lol.

Wow, my finger is so swollen up a good quarter inch above the knuckle, and is still purple. Apparently it takes around four weeks to heal. Considering all I did was close my hand when it broke, I need to get in for a bone density test soon. I asked for one several months ago but still haven’t heard from my doctor. Guess I’d better get on her.

Doc wanted me on meds for osteoporosis. I'm taking calcium and D3 And trying to avoid meds.
I don't think either of those will work for bone strengthening. You will need calcium and D3. I think the D3 helps you absorb the calcium. The better calcium is citrate, but I'm using calcium carbonate. My calcium has D3 in it, but I still take an extra 2000 IU.
Good morning everyone! Nothing much new to report around here. Still looking for insurance and an inexpensive, reliable car.
Vickster - glad you popped in, now please! Rest those eyes so you can be fully recovered!
Jayne - I think working is a good thing for kids to do. I think DD1 will become a bit more careful with her money once she realizes how hard she has to work to earn it. She is definitely a shopper though.
I mailed your birthday card as well...but it probably won't get to you until a few weeks after your birthday! I never seem to get cards in the mail early enough, especially not international ones!
You all make me chuckle with the chatter about Kathy's unmentionables and the FedEx man...that was a woman!
Kathy, I hope you have a wonderful time at the wedding.
Kandie, I'm sure DD1 will experience many rude people in this job. I really think people feel more free to be rude nowadays. I think it was the summer between my sophomore and junior years of high school that I ran (on my own a lot of the time) the health food store in the small town where I grew up. (About 15,000 population.) Thinking back on that, I really didn't experience many rude customers thought plenty of opportunity. I don't know why people feel more free to be rude.
Your poor finger and you!
I like the fairy lights idea too!
Ann, pulling weeds is something I need to get outside and do at my house...but they just come back just like dust! lol
Catherine, I didn’t experience rude people until I worked retail. It seems like for so many impatient and frustrated folks, the person behind the counter was the one to yell at. And we were to ask every single customer if he or she would like to open a charge account, and if so, we had to take the application. Some people in line would get so very upset with having to wait.
To this day I am patient and nice to retail personnel. Unless they are rude to me first. Then I just won’t ever return to that store.
Ann, thanks for your help as well on the vitamins. I need all the brain food I can get, so I’ll stay with the B Complex, and I did read an article that mentioned gardeners have learned B Complex tastes terrible to mosquitoes and biting flies, so it’s common for them to take it for that reason as well. Happy brain and unhappy bugs? YES!
I’ve checked on all plants, front yard and back. They all seem to be happy and don’t need anything further from me today, so I think I will now take a nap. DH has gone to the casino, and Dusty has started without me!
