Hi all, I'm crafting at our retreat and already have 2 cards done...in between all the visiting! 15 ladies here today and 18 tomorrow. Catherine and Jayne, I'd love to have you both here, as well as all my Alpha buddies!!! It would be so much fun!
Sharon, love your sunflower kitchen and dining area! I love sunflowers!
Kathy, your blouses for the wedding are so pretty and the capris are too cute!
Melody, my father passed away from Alzheimer's a couple years ago. I felt so bad for him when he could no longer use his computer. Dementia is an awful illness. Glad you got to spend some time with your sister.
Ann, good to know about the B-complex for the brain!!!
Catherine, your DD1 will definitely learn patience working in retail. So glad that she's decided to go to the Community College near home!
Sis Vicki, glad your trying to behave! Miss you lots and big hugs and love sent your way!
Well, I'd better get back to socializing and stamping! Have a great evening!

Kandie - I have felt sorry for the cashiers who have to ask if you want to sign up for an account or whatever the other questions they might have to ask. I imagine they get tired of asking those questions over and over and over!
Oh, a nap sounds lovely.
DH is headed to south Sacramento to see a man about a car. Praying it works out. It is really hard to have three drivers and jobs but only two cars. Not impossible but not easy. Reminds me of when DH and I lived in Southern California. I worked in Glendale and DH worked in Burbank but we only had one car. He would take me to work and then rush to his job. Then I usually was stuck waiting for him after work because he had to get his time in. I just always had a book. It was funny though, I worked in Purchasing at a hospital at the time. Once, when I was waiting for my DH, the head of the Radiology Dept. came down to our department and saw me waiting. He asked why I was there and I told him. He got this little smile on his face and said, "You have purchase orders, don't you?!" Silly guy!
Love the funny you posted, Kandie. The gardener indeed!
Gracie, so glad you are having fun - though it wasn't ever in doubt that you would! Wouldn't it be a blast to have an alpha sisters crafting weekend?
Poor Honey is sick. I got an unhappy call from DD2 that Honey had thrown up and had diarrhea and DD2 was NOT happy. I told her poor Honey probably wasn't happy either, poor girl. And poor DD2 too.
I'm getting a little tired of the dunkin donuts employees at the drive thru always asking me if I'd like to try a (fill in the blank). I just want them to say "what can I get for you today?" Because I always have to say no thank you, I'd like a medium coffee with cream and five sugars. Yes five. If I say four they don't take me seriously. I remember once I pulled up and a voice says "medium coffee, cream and five sugars?" That girl recognized me and she could see out the backdoor that was propped open. She smiled and waved! Loved her!
Ah yes, it is always nice to be known and recognized. Where we lived before we had the best mailman though he retired before we moved. He knew who we were and gave small town service. As my uncle worked for USPS, I was always amazed that this guy gave small town service because I know how the powers that be liked to make policies and apply them across the board without consideration of possible changes different regions might need to do to make it work.
I'm sure they get tired of asking if they'd like to try "xyz" too.
I guess I’ll have to call the doctor about this silly finger. The knuckle is so swollen the skin is smooth, and it just aches terribly. Seems like I spent the day going ooh! Ouch! Ah! Oh! %#$&@!
DH is back home, no payday for him at the casino. He’s been on a losing streak. It’s a good thing he plays logically. When he runs out of the amount he has set aside, he comes home. And takes back control of the remote! Darn!

So how do I get wrinkles out of sheer material? I don't have a steamer. Maybe a wet washcloth and a hot iron? I tried my outfit on for the wedding. I had tried it on at the store, but I'm wearing a white sleeveless silky tank top under the sheer top. It works. Just need to get the wrinkles out yet.
Sigh! Finding a reliable person from whom to purchase a car is utterly ridiculous. DH drove all the way down to where he was to meet this person and they told him they had an emergency call they had to take. It may be completely legitimate but, considering that everyone has been flaky so far, we are skeptical. We need a car!
I'm thankful your DH plays logically, Kandie. So many people can't.
DD2 has been busy working on stripping an old wooden desk that belonged to my parents. She wants to stain it to match things in her room. She wants to do the same to a two drawer file cabinet but may be rethinking that now because she has found that it is a LOT of work!
Hope you all slept well. It's Friday....the sun is shining but it is cold indoors. I think it will be warmer outside.
Kathy, how funny that the Fedex person was female LOL. I did stereotype but our mail people are all male...well the ones I've come across here. I only wear my big granny pants when I play golf for comfort LOL. I love underwear and it has to match, be comfy but also feminine and lacey LOL. Comfort and feminine don't always go LOL....small things I know (pardon the pun).
Kandie, so sorry that your finger is hurting. I hope that you called the Dr and have had it checked again.
I'm also glad that your hubby sets himself a limit at the casino. I have only been to a casino about 3 times in my life. I don't like losing money, even though I waste so much shopping...contradictory I know. When I have been to a casino I allow myself $20 max and once that has gone, I'm done. Son1 loves them but he has to be careful. When he was single and had too much money, he used to waste so much there. He once told me he had lost $1k...can you believe that. I would be heartbroken...I wouldn't have lost it in the first place, but I know that some people can't help it. Now he's married with children, he can't do that and they also only allow themselves a limit when they go out to the casino, which is rare. He also likes to put bets on the horses, which funnily enough my father did and I do but only on Melbourne Cup Day...I again only bet $20 max. More small things LOL and yes I am very contradictory.
I also sympathise with retail staff and them having to upsell. It's the same at beauty and hair salons. I straight away say thank you but no. If they get pushy then I won't go back to the store. I know what it is like working in a sales environment. When I was on performance targets it is hard and you are always being pushed to get more sales, more $$. Fortunately I didn't do direct selling, but looked after our distribution channel and then a national team....and we were always bringing in incentives (competitions, etc) to help motivate our channel to make more sales. I'm so glad I don't have that pressure anymore...it was tough at times but also very rewarding. I didn't like having to do performance reviews with staff and especially ones who were expecting a big quarterly bonus but hadn't brought in the numbers. I don't think I could go back to work now. I've become very lazy and also you lose your confidence as you get older......More small things.....
Ann, hope that you got your weeding done. I do not like weeding. I remember we used to pull out the weeds in our lawn and driveway....gosh so glad those days have gone and loving our liquid limestone and fake grass LOL.
Kathy, I hope you enjoy the wedding. Wrinkles out of sheer material. I would hang them in my bathroom and let the steam do its work....not sure....unless you have a steamer. I have silk tops and put them on as they are and if they are wrinkly I say it's the look LOL. Good luck with this.
Catherine, I'm so sorry that your hubby's drive for a car didn't work out. So frustrating and I sympathise with you. Son3 came back to live with us 15 months ago after travelling for a year in South America. He came back broke, no job, no car. He uses hubby's car which is 17 years old but still looks immaculate and drives well. The intention was that he would ask when to borrow it. Now hubby has to ask if he can borrow his own car. Fortunately now we are both retired we manage with my car except on a Wednesday and Friday when hubby goes to golf and if son3 is working. When I need my car on a Wednesday it gets tricky and one of us has to chauffeur son3 around. Today hubby has taken my car. I don't mind but we seem to be the ones that have to fit in with the cars and not the other way around. We have offered him the car as it doesn't owe us much but he says he doesn't want it. Hubby wants a new car and we are trying to see if we could manage just with one and use uber for emergencies. I've just paid the govt tax and insurance on hubby's car and considering he gets to use it maybe twice per month it's an expense we could do without. I so hope that you find a car soon as I can imagine when you have 3 of you working it is even more difficult.
Thank you for thinking of me and I will look forward to receiving your card. I am finding mailing to the US and Canada is taking 3 weeks from here and also 3 weeks to get here from these countries. When I mail to the UK it takes 7-10 days. Thanks again....I love receiving happy mail even if it is a reminder that I'm a year older LOL.
Gracie, glad you are enjoying your craft retreat.....maybe one day we can arrange something and I can include it in with a trip with hubby to the US. He can do something whilst I craft for 2 days LOL. I keep saying this to other ladies on other threads I'm on...Sharon, etc.....it would be such fun although how I would get my craft kits there may be tricky.
Hi everyone else.
Have a wonderful day. I have been heading to my craft room for the past 2 hours but have got distracted...so now I will do as I said....but first...I want to check out challenges LOL.

Kathy I received a card today...I think it’s yours. The postmark says Harrisburg PA. I don’t think I know anyone else from PA. Thank you.

When all else fails, hang your item in the bathroom and crank up the shower as hot as it can and the steam will help with the wrinkles!
Jayne, I have to apologize, with all the work going on outside I can not remember if I put a card in the mail to you!! So I will get one out tomorrow!!
Good morning! It was a lovely, cool night last night. I so enjoy those. And it isn't supposed to get terribly warm today, just up to 80s. I'm about to take DD1 to her job and then I have more stuff to get done today than I will be able to do in one day. Ai-yi-yi! I'm still waiting to see if Honey was sick in the night or if she seems to be better.
Did you make it to your craft room, Jayne? I hope to squeeze in some time to craft today but we'll see what happens.
Good morning, Kandie! What fun it would have been to have that address when my girls were younger. They would have loved to receive mail like that.
Have fun working outside, Ann. I hope the weather is nice to you. When is your event? It must be soon, we are rapidly running out of June!
☕ I'm eating a Wendy's salad and drinking a dd coffee. Just got home from banking and Walmart. Yay, that's probably my card Jayne becausenour stuff does go through Harrisburg, and some times Philadelphia
The community college where DD1 will be attending in the fall, has a used car fair every weekend. I think we'll be headed there to check it out. At least we know the cars will be there!
LOL, Kathy, on the texting abbreviation key! There you are having lunch and I haven't had breakfast yet. I pop into Michaels after dropping DD1 off (it is right across the street from where she works). I was getting low on Tombow liquid glue so have remedied that.
I finally uploaded the graduation cap favors that I made for DD1 and her classmates. I forgot to upload it before. I also made the time to make my entry for P so I am still current!
Good morning, ladies, and happy Saturday. It has felt like Saturday to me since Wednesday, for some reason. I have to look at the front of my phone to see what day it actually is!
Oh my, Kathy, loved the senior citizens text list! LMDO, LOL
DH was not in a good mood yesterday. First the engine died on the bedroom fan, so he went to Lowe’s and bought a new one and put it up. Then he went to open one of the folding doors on the closet and it fell of the track. Back to Lowe’s to buy something to fix it, muttering about the @#$&% house falling apart.
He had his trailer loaded with stuff for Goodwill to drop off, from cleaning out the last house, and I asked if I could take a peek at the stuff first. Then he caught a chipmunk in the trap and took it to wherever he takes them. He then reset the trap and came out back to see what I was doing and started grumbling about how he wanted to eliminate stuff, not accumulate more! (The owner of the last estate sale had owned, of all things, a store filled with vintage stuff, OH MY). I thought my pile was reasonable. He didn’t. Then he caught another chipmunk and drove it to its new location.
He came back, reset the trap, walked away, heard it go off, and he’d caught a third chipmunk! Grumbling about all the driving, he took the third critter to its new place. Meanwhile, I found more stuff and hurriedly hid it in the back porch!
Not a good day for DH. I think he could simply tell his truck to take him to Lowe’s or to the park with the chipmunks and it would drive itself!
Oops, he’s up. Let’s hope today is a better day!!! Off to get him coffee. Be back in a bit.

I spray-painted an old ashtray stand blue yesterday and of course the clover growing on the ground is now bright blue. DH grumbled about that, too. I told him it was in honor of the blues festival going on in the next town!

Why did I think I needed to get up yet? We aren't leaving until 1:30 and all I have to do is get wrinkles out of that blouse and get a shower. I still have that earache, although I'm not sure its the ear because I notice it when I swallow. Feels like the right ear. I slept with a plug in that ear. Looks like its a great day for a wedding.
Got some Sally Hansen clear nail polish. Its called Diamond Strength. I painted my nails last night.
How can someone live with fifty cats in the house? The news is on in the background, and the SPCA just removed 50 cats and kittens from a home in the lower part of our county. I can't imagine....I know how quickly the litter needs changed with one cat!
Well, ttyliwdgl....that means talk to you later if we don't get lost!
Kathy, that is funny! I hope you have a safe time, and end up enjoying the trip with DH and the wedding.
Kandie, I can’t believe your DH catches and takes those chipmunks to the park. What patience! But I guess, what else can you do?
Kandie about the sunflowers. Not real! I just have sacks of artificial ones. At our home that we sold last year, we did have giant ones we planted a couple of years in the backyard, but not the kind you cut and brought in.
Katherine, those grad cap favors are adorable! I bet they loved them. So unique.
Finally, today nothing to do, it play in my craft room! But my craft room is a mess. I was looking for a phone number in my room yesterday, and went through the desk and plastic drawers next to it, took everything out, now it is a Disaster! Then I realized, just get online! You know , I am slow to get into this day and age of everything online! Anyway, I just wanted to add a year’s worth of time to my cell phone, which I rarely use. But if you don’t add time you loose what’s on there, so I just add a year once a year. So, I called Trac phone. It is always a hassle. They don’t speak English, so that adds to the fun. I can’t understand them and they can’t understand me! Finally, I got it done and I don’t have to do it until July 2020!
Hot here, upper 90s yesterday with heat index in the hundreds. Suppose to be the same today. Summer is here!
I've ironed my blouse and decided to leave it on the hanger until I'm nearly there. I'm wearing a white silky tank under it, so I will just wear that for the trip. The blouse can be slipped on easily while in the truck. Yes, taking DH's Ranger because my car wouldn't make the trip. He washed and cleaned it earlier. That's what we took on our fishing trip. I'm still trying to find a white, pink or yellow clutch because my big black purse is staying in the truck. I just need something to hold tissues and a compact. My sister is going to look at the thrift store uptown. I thought of making one out of card stock! LOL
Just got back from the thrift store. My sister texted a picture of a white purse so I went up to look. Almost, but no quite. But I did see something some of you would have liked! An old Remington typewriter. It was $12.50. Definitely only a vintage conversational piece. Not usable, but very cute and rustic.
Kathy, hope you have fun at the wedding! Great to just slip on your outfit when you get there!! Sorry you did not find a purse.
It's outside again for us today! Still a lot that we want done and this is to be the last of the cool days before the 80's hit next week!! Good for the little pool to warm up but not for working outside moving rock!
Don't work too hard Ann. Glad you have some good weather to finish up the outdoor project!
Kathy, enjoy the wedding and hope the traveling goes well for you.
Kandie, oh my, remember Chip 'n Dale? Chipmunks are so cute, but I'm sure your DH doesn't think so! LOL Sorry he was a grumpy head yesterday! We all have days like that! Yes, the good old days when kids played outdoors and never took one picture of themselves!
Thanks Catherine, hope you are having a relaxing Saturday now that everything has settled back down after graduation!
Back to crafting...going to be tired by the time I go home Sunday! But lots of laughs and fun!

Hi all. I will catch up on chat later but I really need my prayer warriors right now. We had a 6 year old child fall off of a float at our local parade today. It then ran over her and she was air lifted to hospital. Please pray for her she needs all the help she can get.
