Ok, let’s talk about my pathetic day. As I wrote earlier, I lost what I’d written three times. DH had to work more on this new house to get it ready for next week’s sale. I got ready early and had errands to run but I stopped by to see what was at this house first. All I’ve heard about the last two days was the junk inside and the yard stuff outside, including this old potting bench, and I wanted to look at that bench. Badly. So I arrived, said hello to the girls working inside, and went out the back door to say hello to DH who was working in the shed.
Well, I stepped off the deck steps right into a deep hole at the side of the last step, and twisted my left ankle badly, wrenching my back and right knee when I went down. After I got done swearing loudly I said Honey, I found a hole you need to fix before the sale! He came running to help me up and even found a cane for me to use. I hobbled around a bit and then left because I had meant to get my nails done and dang it, I was going to get them done!
I did get them done, but I also treated myself to Dairy Queen because I hurt myself, lol.
Then I came home and changed into furniture-spraying clothes. All good for a while, until I stepped from the back porch up a step to the small deck next to it, didn’t quite get the foot clear of the step (while carrying a beautiful ceramic vase), and fell against the door, whacking my ribs on the frame and dropping the vase, which broke into many pieces. More swearing, DH comes running and says, are you trying to kill yourself?!!
I gave up for the night, put paint stuff away, came into the kitchen to get a cookie from the fancy heavy glass cake stand I have on the counter, dropped the lid which luckily went on the counter but dumped my cookies on the floor. DH yelled FOR PETES SAKE, SIT DOWN AND STAY PUT!!!
So I did. But first, three Tylenol. Every body part hurt from that fall!
So..... I’m hoping today is better. I’m almost scared to get off the couch!!!

I guess yesterday was just one of those days. My demo friend said her cat got stuck fast to a glue mouse trap and it scared him and he ran back and forth with that trap flapping against stuff!
Kandie, I agree with your DH! You should stay put! I'm afraid you are going to be stiff and sore!
I slept on the floor in the living room. Couldn't sleep so I got my mattress to the cot and put it on the floor. My hip is aching.
Well now, after telling us they wouldn't be discounting anything, SU has now added a discounted list under last chance products! The large letter dies I bought last year are $30 cheaper!
Another beautiful morning. I need to get dressed and help DH with yard work because its to rain later. I'm hoping it stays dry for the wedding for DS1's friend.
Good morning. Much cooler today. It's been thundering for awhile and just started to rain. Very dark out.
Thanks, Catherine. We actually usually don't have too many unbearably hot days here. Last summer was bad and I ran the AC a lot. Most of the time, I'm OK with just opening doors and windows, but it sure is nice to have the AC when it is 80% humidity and 90+ degrees out.
Congratulations Ann on the Misti win! Very pretty bird card.
Hello Catherine, hope everything is coming together for graduation!
Kandie, oh my goodness, you so sound like me! That's how I got my nickname Gracie from my DH. My family and friends know I'm a major KLUTZ. LOL I think my brain is way ahead of my body and that's why I fall...my body keeps trying to catch up to where my mind already has gone! My DH says, "Look out for pine cones" when I leave because I've fallen so many times tripping on one! I sure hope your ankle, knee, etc. are OK today.
Kathy, I have a snake phobia. I just panic when I see one. When I was little my parents took me to the Chicago Zoo and we went into the reptile house: dark with lots of big snakes. My mom said for 2 weeks I had nightmares and would stand on my bed screaming because I saw snakes all over the floor! She even called the Dr. So I understand them not wanting to sleep in the cabin! Too bad they didn't just go to DS1's home instead of scaring you!
Melody, I love heat but when combined with humidity it is awful! You sweat just blinking your eyes! Hope it's not too hot this summer. Can you get a window air conditioner for your bedroom? We had thunderstorms last night. We have skylights so the bedroom really lit up with the lightning and the thunder seemed to shake the house!

I wouldn't handle a snake, but I'm not really afraid of them. So if we are on a walk and I see one, I either lead DH in another direction or warn him. Big spiders kind of scare me, though. I mean those huge wolf spiders. I have no trouble with daddy long letters or those black jumpy spider. But the other day there was a wolf spider bigger than a quarter on my back door so DH came back and killed him for me.

I understand your frustration. As a mostly hobby demo, I wait until I have enough to make it worth the shipping. I placed my order on Tuesday only to find out today that some is now discounted. I hate when they tell us one thing and do another.

I am eagerly awaiting news from my daughter. She is currently in her national licensing exam for physio therapy. It has been a long road with a lot of hard work and I am so proud of her.

That would really frustrate me with just ordering! I think my demo said the same thing. She just ordered something that is now on that discount list.
Annette, I believe most of us can relate to your sign! I sure can! My girlfriend just told me of how she ran errands all day just to get home and find her cell phone missing. She retraced her stops to several places and one sweet lady told her to walk around the Senior Center and listen for her phone as she called her. No luck! The day was winding down and she was so frustrated. She went home and was in the bathroom peeing when she heard a muffled ringing. Her big, fluffy robe was hanging on the back of the door and her cell phone was nicely tucked into the pocket! It had been home all day!

Hi everyone! It has been a busy day and I haven't had a chance to peek in here and see what has been happening.
Kathy - (it has almost been too long ago for this comment but I'm going to make it anyway!) My thought was that if your DH called ahead, yes, you would be awake but you wouldn't be startled and have that adrenaline rush so would, hopefully, be able to fall back asleep.
Kandie - oh no to your falls! Please be nice to yourself! I completely think DQ was in order as well as the cookie!
Too funny about giving the floor a hug!
Oh my, Kathy, the picture of that cat running around with the mouse trap stuck to it. Poor kitty!
I saw those large letter dies at that discounted price...tempting but I don't think I can swing it with all the graduation expenses.
Melody - yes, those temps with that amount of humidity is just uncomfortable. I'm hearing some thunder currently with some sprinkles out there. It was low 90s down the hill.
Gracie - "sweat just blinking your eyes" what a quote! I remember feeling that way when we would visit my grandparents in Kentucky in AUGUST! And they didn't have AC and grandpa went to bed with the chickens and expected us to do so as well.
Annette - congrats to your daughter! That is exciting news.
Gracie - at least your friend found her phone!
I saw a joke about buying memory foam shoes so you would never forget why you walked into a room.
Catherine, I think many of us would buy memory foam shoes is they helped our memories! LOL
My DS, DIL and 3 GDs coming tomorrow afternoon! Yay! They have a new puppy and are so excited. I can't wait to meet little Hank. He's Shitzu/Pekinese. They sent me a pic and he looks adorable. My DS has allergies to dogs & cats, so supposedly this puppy is hypoallergenic. My DG has been saving all her money from birthdays and Christmas for a dog. She is 12 and has saved $800! Perseverance has paid off!

I'd recommend buying memory foam shoes for the comfort factor. Unfortunately, they don't help with the memory thing but they sure are comfortable!
Yay, Gracie, sounds like you have fun in store. I'm sure Hank is adorable. Honey is Shitzu/poodle mix. Good for your DGD saving up to buy her puppy. That is fantastic.
Gracie, no to the window AC. We have those dumb windows that crank open. The guy came today and said we need a new AC. Can't repair it. But the price he gave us is only half what DH found as typical online. It's still more than we can afford right now, so I'm not sure what we are going to do. Although we hate going this route, DH is going to ask DS if he might be willing to loan us money.

That's too bad about your windows! Hopefully, your DS can loan you the money. It will be a rough summer if it's warm and humid!

I hope you are able to work something out, Melody. I don't like being hot!
So strange, it was sunny and low 90s down the hill but we've been having rain and thunder and lightning. The last two aren't nearly as big a deal as back East and aren't very common around here so DD2 is enjoying the light show.
Sunday school was great. Our teacher is a year older than DS1. They grew up together in church. Teacher is also ordained minister and married to our preachers daughter. He works at a prison. He is a guy who loves studying and words so I always learn from him, since he breaks down verses in depth. Today he talked about being the church and likened it to gangs. He says you don't say "I'm going to go to gang today." You ARE gang. Same with church. We ARE the church. The church isn't the physical building, but all the believers. Wish I could explain it like he does.
Went to Walmart and dunkin donuts afterwards so I'm on coffee overload! LOL
Good morning! It is sunny this morning after our thunder/lightning/rain last night. I haven't gone outside our checked the temperature yet though. I need to make a graduation card for one of DD1's former boyfriends. We should have gone to his commencement this morning but that was at 9 am and his party is this afternoon and I can't afford to give up the entire day as I have things to do to get ready for DD1's graduation. So we are only going to the open house at their home but I haven't made his card yet.
Kathy - that has been the focus of our pastors sermons the last few weeks since we've gotten the new worship center. They want our members to understand that the people are the church so the church is wherever the people are and the building is just that, a building.
We've been focusing, also, on being His hands. We have a couple outreach programs going right now for the community. One is a diaper bank. We donate diapers, wipes, diaper cream, etc. They package them into bundles of 10-15 depending on size, and they are placed in a four drawer huge file cabinet and sit out on the church front porch. People can stop by if they are in need while they wait for their next paycheck. We only ask them to write what size they took so we can refill those sizes. Its an honor system that seems to be working well!
The other program is Bobs Buddies. Bob was a wonderful man who passed last year. He loved the kids so in his memory we buy backpacks, school supplies and fill tables with clothing of all sizes. Then right before school, anyone can bring their kids and get new backpacks filled with school supplies and pick up clothes! We also have hairstylists volunteer that day with free haircuts and I see this year they are even having a Med Van staffed with a doctor and nurse for limited medical services!
Aloha Sistahs!!!

Yeps left eye was first and now it’s time for the right. It worked well the MD for the clinic said the surgeon did a awesome job and they got better then they had hoped for. Said I now have 20/25 vision.not sure how that works if it’s for both eyes or just the one the finished surgery on . But yes I’ll have to do it all again on the 11th of this month
Aww such a cute and precious moments capture Sis Gracie. And I think her parent should refund your DGD her $800 . Which was a very great lesson in responsible way of her to learn she has to earn her way for special wants. And she did awesomely too. Maybe refund her by putting in the $800 to her college fund or a special birthday gift on her next birthday she sure earned it .
