Catherine, thanks. After much adoo, I figured out what I was doing wrong. I clicked on the first large word download. It tried to download the file. So I finally saw that other small picture and it had a play button on it! Duh! Finally got to see it!
Hello ladies, arrived at our hotel in Lerma at 4pm, left home at 8.30, stopped off for breakfast, the restaurant had a massive nativity scene in the window, we had a coffee near Madrid, no snow on the mountain pass but snow warnings along the road, it’s cold here, 5c at home it’s 22c, we walked into the town square for a coffee and found Nut liqueur for our DIL!
just reading as the evening meal doesn’t start until 8.30 pm, too late for me really but we arrived too late for lunch.
Hope everyone is feeling better from painful backs and viruses.
Hi Ladies,
My days and nights are still mixed up! LOL I slept a few hours on the couch, woke up and went back to bed at 10:30 this AM. Had alarm set for 1:30- 1:35-1:40-1:45.... woke up at 4:30 PM!!! Yikes!
Hubby is golfing tomorrow, so I hope to be awake and in the craft room for a part of the day anyway! It will be about 26-28 degrees out. Nice day for Winter golf!

We had a dusting of snow, 1 1 1/2 inches at most. Ray did not have to shovel, it melted off of the driveway.
Getting ready for Sunday Christmas at my sisters- its about 1 1/2 hours from here. We do a White elephant exchange, and also I buy gifts for the kids. We have just 2 littles under 18- they are 7 & 8........ I bought them fun toys- one slime and the other a piano keyboard you play with your feet : )
I will be baking tomorrow after a visit to Whole foods : ) Need Gluten free desserts.....
Tomorrow, Stephi heads home- hope the roads are in good shape for driving from DC to here!

We arrived on the northern coast at 1pm, there was a really thick frost on the car this morning ,first time our car has seen frost in three years, 0c all the way here but now 18c, stocked up on beer, wine,Sherry, cheeses and chorizo for our son and Christmas, arrived at the hotel on the seafront, it has a lift for the car to go downtown level -3, a bit scary but the hotel room is fantastic, we walked in and it has an L shaped hall, massive bed and bathroom overlooking the cathedral, in fact the tower is across the road from our window.
had tapas for lunch, steve is snoozing as we didn’t sleep very well last night .
Black bulls used to advertise Osborne brandy but there was a ban on advertising on motorways but the left the bulls, we play a game of spotting them, I never win haha they are massive
I've just finished reading 2 pages of chat! I didn't realize that I'd missed so much. I don't know if I'll remember everything to comment on, but I'll try.

Last Sunday night, I received sad news and it's been such a busy week that I haven't had a moment to check in. A dear friend that I played Mahjong with passed away unexpectedly. She was only 72 and the sweetest, kindest, loving person. She always dressed beautifully...with capes and unique clothing and jewelry! She was such FUN! She has left a huge hole in the heart of our community. Her daughters have found homes for all her pets: 2 dogs, 2 cats, fish and a bird. Her husband passed away 3 years ago. One is never prepared for the death of someone so active and full of life! I guess that's why it reminds us to live each day fully and tell our loved ones how much they mean to us.
Hugs and love to all of you special ladies! My Christmas cards are going out a bit at a time...they may be Happy New Year cards!

I just ordered an Epson printer. I did research, and I sure hope I chose the right one. I guess that’s another Christmas gift to myself, maybe that one is for next Christmas!

Morning, sorry haven't been on much my back went out yesterday and I was screaming in pain with a few choice words!
Son took me to the chiro again, helped a bit but not enough yet, going back on Monday! Hard to get out of chair without help!
Got news too of a death of a friend, he was 75 and had survived throat cancer. I used to babysit his kids and he was a soccer coach for one of my sons. So hard to lose friends but especially in December.
Hugs to all, I most try and move about, get too stiff if I sit here too long.
Ann, my goodness, your poor back again, and now the loss of a good friend. The end of 2022 is looking very much like the rest of the year. So sorry to learn of your friend’s passing, and yes, especially in December. And is there anything that can be done for your back? Chiro services do not seem to be helping at all!
I just went to my car to drive to the store, and a flashing red check engine light with all kinds of bells and whistles scared the crap out of me. Something about emissions from what I could get from the manual. Since Ed passed and his favorite mechanic is no longer in business, I’m at a bit of a loss as who to call. I finally found a reputable service center nearby, and they can maybe tow the car in next Wednesday or Thursday. Well, I guess I’m not going anywhere for a while! No sense fretting over it until I know exactly what’s wrong. May I say, however, that one of my biggest fears in being alone is having car trouble. Naturally. :(. Murphy’s Law!
On the other hand, I received all kinds of cards today! Thank you so much to Jean, Annette, and Jayne and Wayne for your AMAZINGLY LOVELY cards! They are so beautiful!!!!!

I think it’s time to give up and go to bed. I have tripped and fallen over the gpig fence twice. Ive skinned up my elbow, twisted my back, skinned my knee, and bent my left toes in a direction they are not supposed to go. I am going to carefully take some ibuprofen and tiptoe down the hall to the bedroom, hoping I don’t find anything else to fall over!

I talked to my mom this morning and she sounded hoarse. So I took a covid test kit up and she's tested positive. My sister has been up and she's been sick but she tested negative. After Mom tested positive my sister did another test today and hers is positive. I wore a mask and gloves and threw both away when I got home and washed my hands. I need to stay healthy in case anyone needs anything.
Kathy, oh no! See, I think people are giving in too quickly to COVID being over, and they don’t protect themselves when not feeling well. Sending healing prayers your way.
My left elbow is all skinned up and bruised. My left toes are aching. My back is sore. Knee is better now. Nothing like trying to step over two-foot fencing and getting a foot tangled in the bars. I knocked the whole thing down and knocked a chair out of place. Real graceful. And I did it twice.
Ann, how is your back?
Ive been reading ahead on Alpha challenges and stymied by easy bake oven and fidget spinner! I’m going to have to wait and see your card, Ann, to get an idea of what to do!!!

The towing company can’t get to my car until Wednesday. Hard for me to believe that Friday my car ran fine and Saturday there were warning lights flashing. I’m so grateful it happened in our parking lot and not out at a store or something!

We’re on the ferry, just had a three course evening meal, all included in the price although it costs £800 for the ferry! I-had Avocado with smoked trout, beef in red wine and apple tart, delicious,Steve had king prawns,chicken supreme and some sort of sponge cake with cream inside.
It took ages to get on the ferry , we thought we were one of the last and the ferry would be empty but when we looked out of the cabin window we couldn’t believe all the cars waiting to board, they must have been making them wait in the first parking place.
Kandie sorry to hear about your car, thankfully it didn’t happen whilst you were out and about.
Kathy sorry your Mum and sister have Covid, keep safe although it will be hard if you are looking after your Mum.
Ann so sorry you are still in pain,back pain is awful, it’s Steve’s knees , the cold weather makes them ache so he’s going to suffer in England as it’s been below freezing the last week.
Good morning! (It is still morning here for a few minutes anyway, perhaps not by the time I'm done with this post though.) Today is DD1's last day of work. She was there at 4 am. She is going to miss that work place, she has nice co-workers and a wonderful manager. No word yet on the store to which she is transferring in TN. We do know the one she hoped to work at doesn't have any openings.
DH's gift from me is ready. I need to go and pick it up but today is baking day for my neighbors. I anticipate sore feet and back by the end of the day.
I did finally get my B and C cards done and posted. DH said my C card looked more like an Easter card then Christmas!
Jan, the view from your hotel room was fabulous! I'm glad your trip is going well.
Ann, so sorry about your back. This has been a long stretch of back issues for you. And I'm sorry for the loss you experienced as well.
Wow, Melody, VSN so close to Christmas? I wasn't able to do all the Falliday challenges because of other things I needed to get done.

I’ve been browsing Valentines vignettes on Pinterest. I’ve had so many people compliment me on my hallway shelf Christmas decor that I feel compelled to have a knockout arrangement for February. Although I wish I could post photos of all the beautiful doorway decor I’ve seen while getting in my steps, and the lobby decorations. I’ll try to get the lobby tomorrow. There is an All Male Chorus program tomorrow at 2:30 in the dining room. I love to hear men singing. Something about all those low notes makes me tear up, no idea why. Just because it’s a beautiful sound, I think.

Kandie, yes, TN for her transfer. She is going to college in TN starting in January. That is why I've been sad! I'm happy for her to be moving on to her next step but will miss her terribly - as will her sister. They are best friends!
It is approximately 35-36 hours of drive time from her college to our house. That is what we will be doing in January and then DH, DD2, and I will fly home. She'll probably come home for Christmas/summers, but time will tell. DH has family out there (his dad/step-mom, and step siblings) so she'll probably get to know that part of the family a little better.
Hi everyone, I'm back in my neck of the woods after a few days of being with my daughter, sil and grands. I think it was good I went last Wednesday. It started to snow Wednesday night, rain turning to snow, it never stopped snowing the rest of the time I was gone. Not a lot of accumulation, but icy, getting colder. The bluffs in LaCrosse were stunning, the snow was sticking to the trees like cotton. We took a drive up the bluffs, just awesome. Scott and Liz have lived there a long time, have seen it quite like that. It was magical.
I'm sorry for all the new illnesses, back issues, falls, you name it, we got it!!!!!!! I was getting into the car to come home this morning, all of sudden, we heard a shriek inside, Liz went running, very scared what she would find. Clare accidentally closed the kitchen door on Mirren's hand. Fortunately not that serious but it sounded horrible.
So Catherine, your daughter is transferring to TN? From? I assumed this was her start of college.
I was hoping to see some sun on the way home but no go....we haven't seen the sun in about two weeks, I think. It's getting colder so I hope we do very soon. I miss it!
Noella is adorable, but probably a rascal. Most young dogs are. My kitty grands are rascals...Gus is into everything. While I was there he shredded rolls of paper towel and chewed open a container of oats. Their litter box is in the laundry room which is also the food pantry. They have some barriers up but he figures out a way. Good thing they are so cute.
I had my mail held, won't get it until Tuesday, but I'm quite sure I have some cards in that bunch of mail. Can't wait to see!
I'll go back to re-read some stuff....oh Jan, that boat looks awesome, sounds like you are traveling in luxury. My mouth was watering hearing about your meal. You are seeing places I will probably never see.

Kandie, easy bake oven -- anything to do with baking/cooking would work -- pots & pans, stove, mixer, rolling pin, spatula, apron, chef's hat, recipes...
and fidget spinner -- any thing that spins -- a spinner card -- a game spinner (one of those that you spin for your next turn) -- a top -- a view master...
Jean, it is my oldest daughter who is continuing her college journey. She had started here locally and then learning went online and she wasn't learning, just getting stressed, so she dropped out. So, yes, she is transferring from a junior college here to a four year university in TN and also transferring from her current Starbucks store to one in TN.
