For those of you who print wirelessly through wi-fi, did you have to connect to a computer to set up the printer? I'm not sure if this is possible, but I would like something that you just plug in, set up your Wi-Fi on the printer, and then can start printing from tablets or phones. If that's how your works, would you let me know the brand and model number?

Happy Saturday, everyone!

Just got back from a funeral, the 90 year old Mom of a high school friend, fellow band geek. I didn't know her but she seemed quite glamorous in her pictures, loved to dance, cook, care for her family. She had a rough end of life but at 90, I guess I would take it.

A fair amount of the snow is gone already because it isn't that cold, it was wet and heavy and it's raining. I was going to walk uptown for a Christkindl market but now I don't know if I'll go. I'm very cozy in my sweats.

Yes, we brought Elizabeth Jean home on Christmas Eve, 1981. Very strange Christmas for me, I was pretty overwhelmed. We always tried to make her birthday special, she had some kid birthday parties, never got a gift that doubled for Christmas. Not sure I'll actually be with her this year but I'll be there right before. I was grateful she was born before Christmas and not right after, as I think that's worse. She was only 24 hours late, which was a surprise...hard to know if one is in labor when one doesn't know what to expect.

I have one more Falliday, the lantern. Lots of cutting, I see.

Kathy, I have a Canon TS5120. I can print from my phone, although to my recollection, i've never done that. I'm guessing it wouldn't have to be connected to a printer, I have wifi. I'm very glad you pleased the Salvation Army person. My ex husband lived at the Salvation Army for a year and a half after I couldn't be with him anymore. I would like to say they did him a lot of good but at least he was safe. I do give a little money every year since then.

Lemon bars......oh yum. A friend brought over a sampling of the cookies that she will be bringing me this year. She is an awesome baker. I have to say that her cookies were far better than the ones I bought at the culinary school. Those were beautiful but near as tasty. I dont' think they were that fresh.

Well done, Kandie. I'm assuming you kept track of your costs so you'd know your profit. Now go treat yourself. That is exceptional!!!!!

Jan, I can't imagine finding insurance for overseas travel. I guess you're used to it. I've only been overseas once, it was with a group so didn't have to go through that.

Jayne, I miss having a baby in the family so I will live through you vicariously. I keep seeing things I'd like to buy a baby. Yesterday a newborn was really crying at the store, all I wanted to do was help that Mom, pick it up and rock it. I used to be so intimidated by that crying, now I just smile.

Catherine, if you serve birthday pie, I need to move in with you. We've been discussing pie on our Falliday host thread, particularly pumpkin. I think you either love pumpkin or hate it, no in between. That would be my choice for you to bake for me.

13 bags of Kisses...I have no words. Well, I do...I bought a bag of Peanut Christmas M and M's and some spicy Christmas gum drops this past week.

I passed emissions by the way. It's a big deal for me because my car is older and I have had some issues in the past, not with failing but with other things. It has been a difficult thing for various reasons so I'm glad to put that behind me for two years.

My daughter sent me photos of her cats in the snow....they loved it! She puts them on a leash. Gus the young one was rubbing up against her legs, purring, in pure heaven. Thanks you, mama, for bringing me outside!!!!!!

Well I better get at that lantern card and finish the details on my TLC for Monday. It's an easy and cute one so check it out. Hi to everyone else!!!!!!! Hope all is hunky dory!!!!! Oh by the way, if you like Oh Holy Night, check out a video with Tennessee Ernie Ford and Gordon MacRae singing it. I knew Ernie could sing well, but usually just heard him think folk-ie kinds of songs. He had a beautiful voice.

Kathy you don’t need a computer and it was very easy to set up, I downloaded the app for the printer onto my iPad , it has all the icons for print, scan, copy and you connect the printer to the WIFI. If I print from an email when I press print it brings the printer name up to accept and it shows you the layout, I find it easy to use.

Those are adorable treats, Kathy!

Jean, I should have said I made 244 back on the 400 spent on materials for 160 items to sell. Isn’t that a crafter’s creed, though? Why buy a card for 6.95 when I can handmade one for 20 in materials?

I’ve caught up on chatter but already forgot what I wanted to write.

From a gorgeous light snowfall yesterday to gloom and cold today. At least there was a momentary White Christmas scene.

I have put away all Christmas craft stuff. I’m hoping I can catch up on our Alpha challenges now.

Regarding printers, I’ve had an HP for years, but it no longer gets the colors from the screen printed correctly on paper, and I’ve read all I can on how to recalibrate the color. And the photo quality stinks. I’ve put off buying a new one because they are so expensive, but it may be time to give in. I have been printing lots of digitals but quit because the quality is so bad. Any advice?

Now I want a lemon bar!

I think I’m caught up on commenting on Alpha challenges. Ann, I don’t know how you came up with this round’s theme but I love it!

Kandie, congrats on selling your crafts! Yay! That's always a relief when you're not sure what will sell, but you make such beautiful things, I knew you'd have no problem selling them!

Kathy, I've never had good luck with printers and the ink is so expensive.

I finished my 2023 calendars for our Arts & Crafts dinner tonight. Both DH and I are feeling much better, thankfully!

It sounds like we're going to get snow Monday, so I feel like I'm back home in Wisconsin for a couple of days, until it melts.

Jayne, a new grandbaby...how exciting. I love babies!

Jan, I'm glad you've been able to everything in order to travel to the U.S. It sounds like a lot of paperwork. I've never been traveled outside of the U.S. I'd love to some day, but time is flying by and with ever-rising expenses. Who knows?

Jean, good luck on the "lantern" for Falliday. I'm still working on cards and tutorials. I've really enjoyed it, taking my time...doing a couple a day.

Ann, I'd better get back to Alpha challenge, too, since my goal is to complete them all this round. I've just pulled out a bike die...hmmmm.

I'd better get moving...have to dress up in something other than jeans and t-shirts for the dinner and maybe put a bit of makeup on. While being ill for the last couple of weeks, I didn't have to worry about that stuff! LOL

Kandie, two things inspired me when coming up with this round of challenges! One that I was starting Christmas shopping (late for me) and two being so close to the holiday people are buying toys! Then came the challenge of thinking of toys that started with the entire alphabet!

Gracie, enjoy your evening all dressed up!

Default hi

Hi ladies,
I have tried to catch up with the chatter here on the thread and hope I caught all of the important news, who is sick, who has new pets, and all.....
We arrived home yesterday, and there were 32 families that did not get their luggage. We were one of the families. Ray let the neighbors know- they are having a gathering tonight for Christmas, and he told them he will either come in sweatpants or a suit...or maybe a swimming suit if the bags do not arrive by the time of the party. LOL I have a few more clothes than he does! Glad it happened on the way back vs the way there!
We had a wonderful visit to the Holy Land, visiting Israel and Jordan. We visited so many sites and had to wake up many mornings at 5:30 or 6! LOL Yep- I did it!
My neck is irritated, and luckily, I had extra muscle relaxants with me to try to calm it down! It helped, but it is still painful! I was able to sleep despite it though : )
We are trying to catch up to our time zone and get back to normal sleep patterns!
I missed all of you and the chatter and creating!!! I will never get all of the Falliday cards done, but may work on some tomorrow.

Waving hello to all
Shelly

Shelly, welcome home! I hate traveling, but if I were to travel, I would love to visit the Holy Land! The only traveling I've ever done, other than a weekend trip to the shore, was a week in Puerto Rico on a missions trip. Lucky I went then, because it was in July the year of 9/11 towers horror! It was the one and only time I ever flew.

Gracie those are beautiful calendars. Yes, ink for printers is expensive. We rarely print these days. I download digis and have only printed one and never used it. Doh! I mainly use our printer for printing trip itineraries and photos which isn’t often. I have a portable Epson printer for scrapbooking and never unboxed it. Another doh! I must get onto that if I’m to do scrapbooking again. I have the app on my iPad too. Hope you had a great dinner.

Shelly, so glad to hear you got back safely. Hope Ray found some clothes. I always worry about cases not arriving when travelling but touch wood it’s never happened to us yet. I hope they arrive soon. Take care of your sore neck and body.

Kandie, you made me smile about the cost to make a card. It reminds me of my golf fees the past year and I’ve hardly played. At last count it was costing me around $130/game. Ouch.

Jean, when I hear a baby crying when out I also want to pick it up and rock it. I am looking forward to having a baby in the family again. It’s been a long time.

The tree and trimmings are up. It’s beginning to look a lot like Xmas. Have that song playing. Love listening to Xmas songs and carols. I miss Carol singers knocking on the door.

Shelly sounds like an amazing trip, hope you get your suitcases back, twice our son lost his luggage coming here, took two days but they actually delivered it to the house, luckily coming here there’s not much need for many clothes!

Gracie I love your calendars

Kandie that’s so true about crafting, Steve showed me a sign in a shop window in England that said ten cards for a pound! He said he’s so pleased I save him money by making them LOL

Looks as if we might be hitting bad weather when we get off the ferry in England, they forecast snow in the south, luckily I have a winter coat and boots at our sons, he keeps them for us as I would never use them here!

Dagmar, you find the loveliest photos!

Ann, how are your boys? I tested positive for 10 days before it finally came up negative.

Welcome home, Shelly! 32 people without luggage? I wonder what country the luggage is visiting?

Gracie, LOVE THE CALENDARS! Oh my they are gorgeous!

As one of you mentioned earlier, one time something sells and another time it doesn’t. My gift card holders didn’t sell at all! And I thought they were so cute, lol.

Jayne, I imagine your Christmas tree is lovely! You should post a photo when you can.

Jan, Steve’s comment cracked me up. I would show Ed a card I made and he’d say, how many hundreds of dollars did that cost to make?!

I see I’m going to have to buy stock in wet wipes. And Noella has learned how to hop. She can hop clear across my lap now, from one side of the couch to the other. A minute ago she took a leap off the couch and looked like a flying squirrel!

More gloom outside, and cold. I wandered downstairs for a bit and only saw one lady who was getting her mail. Nothing much goes on during the weekend.

Off to check out my supplies for catching up on cards! Later!

Welcome home Shelly! I guess your clothes weren't ready to come back yet! Can't wait to hear more details of your travels.

Thanks for compliments on my calendars. The dinner was delicious. The President of our Arts & Crafts group, made everything: stuffed pork loin, stuffing, grilled vegetables and baked apples. We just brought deserts. 15 of us attended, with 3 spouses who don't do crafts. Our group sells our crafts and 10% goes to the community for various causes. DH and I were one of the youngest there. It's nice to be considered "young." LOL

I'm hoping to craft today. We have winter storms headed our way, as I've heard the whole country is in for some bad weather. I can tell from the pressure in my head. Oh my!

Dagmar, beautiful photos...thanks for sharing them with us!

Kandie, yes, selling crafts is interesting. All of a sudden, you'll sell something that you've had for several years. No predicting. Noella sounds like such fun! Hopefully you don't get the bad weather predicted for much of the country.

Jan, it sounds like England is getting bad weather, too. It is the season. Take care.

Ann, you did an amazing job of thinking of toys for the whole alphabet! I can't wait to see all the creative cards!

Jayne, you'll have to post a photo of your lovely tree and decorations!

Jean, good job finishing all the Falliday Fest challenges. I'm still working on them. It's been fun!

Have a blessed Sunday everyone!

I'm a little stumped for bicycle, don't have any bike stuff, I don't think....if I do, I've forgotten that I have it. But don't worry, Ann, I'll have it figured out before the next one, whatever that is. I never look ahead.

Dagmar, that's a lovely image for Advent. I'll have to take a picture of my Advent calendar...it's big so not sure I can fit it in.

Gracie, lovely calendars. It is hard to predict what will sell and what won't. Just found out that my son and his wife will be flying to AZ in January...Phoenix and then Sedona. They really need a getaway, too much stress in their lives.

Kandie, my brother's dog, Rowdy, an 80 lb black Lab, can leap. He doesn't crawl up on the couch, he leaps onto it and then leans against you with all his weight. It's very cozy and warm but you have to prepare yourself.

I will watch football today because the Packers aren't playing, finally have a bye. I think it's too late to have a bye. They used to have a break early in November, which seemed just right to me.

Haven't seen the sun in days. I always forget that it does affect me if the gloom lasts too long.

WELCOME HOME, SHELLY! I still remember the jet lag from our trip to Japan many many years ago. My daughter went a few years later through school, we hosted her host family's kids a few years later than that, their luggage was missing, which was embarrassing. But it arrived very quickly. It was hard to explain to them because of the language barrier. Can't wait to see some pictures.

Snow in the front yard is mostly gone and my sump pump is running a lot. Landlord came the night of the snow which I was grateful for. Still figuring out how they will operate as far as how quickly things will be cared for.

Kathy, I flew past the twin towers in August 2001, on the way to Newark for a family wedding. Next time I flew that way, it was amazing how far away from that area the plane flew. My cousin is a volunteer fire fighter and knew many of the firefighters who died. If I had money, I would travel. I really want to see the world.

well hi to everyone else, take care, be safe. I was invited to another party tonight, not going. Actually it's a round robin, I wasn't invited to the whole thing, just to dessert at 4 pm. I won't have eaten supper yet so why should I have dessert? I know, eat dessert first, life is short.

Jean, I'm glad I'm not the only one struggling with bicycle! My brain just shut off. But like you said, I will figure it out. I may not before the next letter, but I will before the end of the round! LOL

I just talked to My demo friend. She may have a bicycle stamp. She's not at home right now but she'll look when she gets home. Either way I wouldn't be able to get it before friday. That's when our order comes so I'll be running out to her house

Technically it’s still a bike, Kathy! And it’s perfect!

I am SO out of practice on making cards. I started out fine but my blizzard took over the card. Now that it’s done, I can think of several ways I could have done it better!

Need healing prayers ladies, back went out and hurts like crazy! Hopefully can get in tomorrow to the chiro! Don't know what I did this time, but it's the same area on my right side! I think this is going to be a maintenance thing every 6 to 8 weeks!

Praying for you Ann! And empathizing. I am currently standing by my recliner because I cannot sit. I have terrible pain on my left side lower back. I can't get comfortable in any position but get some relief if I stand.

Ann that sounds painful, I hope you have meds for pain relief, you too Kathy. My Dad suffered with Lumbago all his life and I’ve seen my Mum help him get on his motorbike to go to work, they didn’t get paid for being off sick in Those days, he had a board underneath the mattress and he would walk as if one leg was shorter than the other.

Default Hi

Hi ladies,
Our luggage did arrive last night, and emptied quickly for laundry and return to where it belongs.....

We went to mass, then home to eat then visited SIL- she looks good. I did not think she would make it until Thanksgiving, so impressed by her energy and resolve!

I fell asleep at 7 and up at midnight- now awake in the middle of the night- glad I do not have to work tomorrow like Ray!

I looked at the Falliday challenges and in the gallery a bit. I am going to try to make a few cards for challenges, but will not get them all done by the deadline, oh well! Also, will work on Alpha cards.

Sending good wishes to all. I have bike dies and images- please drop a note if you'd like me to mail some!

Shelly

I found some bike images! Yay! Wood mounted. I just have to figure out a design. Thanks, Shelly.

I'm so sorry about the back issues, Ann and Kathy. Having experienced some of that myself, I know it's the worst. We were better off when we didn't walk upright.

Kandie, I watched a bit of that game yesterday but I was very scattered and couldn't sit still. I have mounds of stuff all over the place, on my dining table, in the basement, trying to get Christmas gifts organized, get ready to travel to LaCrosse for my granddaughter's concert. Happy the Vikings lost...I shouldn't be, they are my BIL's team but I can't stand them, ever since the Randy Moss era.

Here is a partial pic of my Advent calendar, probably sideways. On Facebook yesterday, NPR, I think, there was a nice article about how they became popular in the states. Have a good day. Very gray, cloudy and depressing out.

Very gloomy outside here too but at least it's not freezing! DH went to a breakfast with the retirees. They try to meet once a month. Afterwards he and his friend are taking their deer to be processed. DH's deer was huge. I wanted him to wait until we got the results of the CWD testing because if it tests positive it will be a waste of meat. They say it doesn't affect humans, but I'm not taking a chance if it would have it. It looked healthy enough but they do look ok in the early stages. We should have the results back this week. Tomorrow will be one week since we dropped the head off in their collection bin.

My niece is supposed to get her package today. Mom sent it out near the end of last week. We're anxious to hear how it arrived because mom decided to send four eggs from my niece's mother's chickens! I didn't see how she packed the box, but I did tell her that however she packed it she should still put it in a plastic bag in case they broke! It went to Milwaukee.

Oh, Ann and Kathy, my heart goes out to you both. I’m not good at dealing with pain like that. You are both so in my prayers for pain relief and healing.

Shelly, so glad your luggage arrived. Did it come with any souvenir stickers as to where it had been?

Its so gloomy here too, 37 with wind chill of 31. We have gale wind warnings for a little farther north, and we always get leftover wind when those warnings go out. From tomorrow until Wednesday evening. Wonderful. :(

Jean, your advent calendar is absolutely amazing. How many hours of work do you have in on it? And I watched the game but was chasing a puppy around at the same time so I actually missed most of it.

Shes starting to grumble at being put in her crate for bedtime. I let her out about 6 this morning as she was clawing at the bars. She hopped around and then curled up under a section of blanket and went to sleep, and we slept in until 9:30. It may be time to just put her on the bed now.

I have been wracking my brain over the letter A alphabet. It’s not that I don’t have any ideas but that I have too many. I’m not good at simplifying things!

Good morning to everyone!

Morning!

Chiro appointment this morning! Can't wait although it will be more painful afterwards! Always is till it gets back into place and inflammation settles down!

Son #3 birthday today and son #4 tomorrow! And those years I still hosted the Christmas celebrations on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! I told myself it was easier then hauling all the stuff to someone else's house! LOL!

Kathy, hope you are doing better this morning! Eggs mailed! Yikes!

Shelly, so happy to hear your luggage arrived! Wonder where it went? Your sleep schedule must be messed up with the time changes!

Off to get myself moving, since I'm slow going! Need to eat something but not a lot so I don't get an upset stomach while at the chiro! It's a 45 minute drive one way to his office, but he is good and I've tried the chiro's in the area and was not happy with them.

Have a good day all!

I think I forgot to thank Catherine for the beautiful snow flake card!!!!!!!!!!!

Sending eggs in the mail...well.....I live close to Milwaukee so if I smell something rotten, I'll let you know.

Yay for found luggage!

I checked tracking and it says the box was delivered. Just have to wait until she gets home from work. She will probably call her gram to let her know. I don't think she knew about the eggs so it will be interesting to hear what she thinks.

Eggs in the mail? Interesting, Kathy. When my DS was in elementary school (don't remember what grade), they did an egg drop. The idea was to make something to protect the egg when it was dropped from a certain height. His didn't make it. I think only a few actually survived the drop.

DH & I went & got our Covid booster today. So far I feel fine.
