I do not like messes too but it looks exciting and that's why I give myself a jerk ;)

In the car traveling home from the weekend away. Had a really nice time with my family, my brother and SIL loved the presents, college age DD did great staying with the youngest 2 kids. It's actually my 16 yo's bday today so we'll have to celebrate that somehow. I'm itching to get back to the challenges but it was a wonderful weekend. I was able to play around with the Elegant Writer pens that I brought and my niece enjoyed it too.
I definitely don't think I'll make Yeti status this year, but I did make, "Get up off your butt and start making cards again" status, and that's a big step for me after that past year we've/I've had. I've got one tutorial done and want to do at least 2 more, and I'll definitely finish the cards for a cause. I figure if I can pull those off, then by next year, I'll be on my way to attaining Yeti status. I'm having fun (and stopped stressing) so that's a really good thing. I hope everyone else is having as much fun as I am or more!

By the way, I know this will sound really strange, but I don't own any reinkers. Is there any was to do the shaving cream tutorial with something else? Or where I can get reinkers that don't cost a lot that will ship quickly? I'm on a pretty tight budget this year (and most every year, but what else is knew?!?)
Thanks,

Hey! It doesn't matter! The fact that you played and had fun is more than enough! So happy to see you back in the swing now and then. Just keep having fun.

Hmmmmmmm. Maybe food coloring or water downed paint? Do you have any pigment powders? Try those and lets see what other ideas you get.

Birthday parties were a success even though I was too exhausted to move lol. Still have Oreos to make into emojis for their classes. But hey I am feeling proud! I have 1 tutorial done and 4 cards uploaded...I think. I also have three more in the planning so far. Not too shabby I guess. I am very unsure about yeti status and whether I can reach it but I am hoping. Hope you gals are doing great. I may not post sky but I read all of them in email each night.
Yesterday I baked the Pumpkin bread recipe (didn't make the glaze)...delicious.
Today I'm making Lee's Crack (need 2 items from the store)
Tomorrow I'm baking the pumpkin cookies (what do I do with the leftover pumpkin since 1 can is more than 1 cup?)
Haven't started any cards but am going into the stamp room today with a friend...
The bread and cookies are calling my name too. The Crack not so much b/c I won't buy the soup. But I have been craving homemade mac and cheese!!

I made the cookies. They didn't even last two days! If you make the frosting, which is the best part, don't overcook the brown sugar and butter. I Cook the butter until melted, add the brown sugar and stir a few seconds, then I pour it directly into a bowl and stir in the milk and finally the confectioners sugar. Twice now when following their directions the brown sugar and butter mixture got too hard and I couldn't get it creamy to add the confectioners sugar. DH took some to work and I'm now in the lead for favorite wife status from his coworkers! LOL

Haha, that's a good idea...bake and send to work with DH! I'm having to cut way back on baking this fall b/c we are all trying to cut back on the sugar goodness!

Do you think they'd be good without the frosting? I was eyeing these, but I'm not much for frosting cookies...

I'm not either…but my family loves brown butter frosting so I may have to try these!! I can't remember, do they have nuts? That might make them nice without frosting!

Do you think you could sub something for the soup?

Oh, I'm sure we'd love the frosting. I'm just not keen on adding 3 extra cups of sugar if I don't have to.

The soup looks like melted Velvetta in a can...I made it before and tried substitutions for ingredients...didn't like it...so decided this time I'm doing it like the recipe says...
Ask me in 3 hours how it tastes!!!!
I wanted some already...I'm hungry...maybe I could start with an apple...

That's what I thought...don't like that stuff either!!! But I may have to cave b/c this does sound might fab!!
I try not to be a food snob, but some stuff I just can't get beyond the color and ingredient list!!! But I may just put blinders on and try...

I use walnuts instead of pecans for the cookies and they do taste good without the frosting, but I think I love them so much because of the frosting. You can make them and try them without, but if you add the frosting be prepared to be amazed! I give a lot away, so I don't eat all the sugar!

I just had one with no frosting and they are delicious!

...and I won't have a frosted one until after dinner or that would really break my limited sugar rules!!

Those cakes are so cute! I assume you made them? If so, great job!
Lunch was delicious...I would opt to cook on low for only 2 1/2 hours so maybe my crockpot wouldn't get hot on one side so much...
UHM...I had way too much and will not need to eat supper...that's all I can say...yum...
Lydia must not have heard me whispering her name but Ruth and Kelly must have heard me whispering as they were picking apples about 3 miles away and they stopped in to use the bathroom...and ate lunch here!!!! :-D

I just tried Lydia's techinique with the napkins and Saran Wrap...talk about cool!! It's so easy and looks impressive....now off to make one or more cards with them.
Just am baking the pumpkin cookies...I ate one without the frosting...delicious...
Are you going to frost some too? I may make another batch but should wait until Sunday because I invited a friend for lunch for her birthday and they'd make a good dessert....

Question for any/all who know? So when the tutorial talked about using the FUSE and I didn't know what it was, I did what any self-respecting crafter would do and went to Amazon to see what it was. Wowser! You could get up to your eyebrows with "things" that go with it in a New York Minute(whatever that is). So----if you are a scrapbooker I could see using it a bunch....as card makers---what ways to you find to put it work? And I figure that the magic only works with the company plastic and those Avery Eller envelopes for clear stamps?????

I did make the frosting...frosted some but I really prefer them without the frosting!
Will send some to work with my husband tomorrow...and taking some to my daughter's tomorrow as well...
Going to see Baby Bumpie...due in early December...can not imagine her going until then...BB has already started dropping...
