These are words I don't understand! Once I get the hang of it I am fine but I am so spatially challenged that I have a lot of trouble the first few times...things like understanding which side will face out or which will be the top completely escape me! I have some really pretty envelope board boxes made with upside-down print or with the ugly side of the pretty 2 sided dp on the outside.

That's why I love video tutorials so much. You can stop them and rewind until you get it right! I have also learned that the old saying "measure twice, cut once" is true. So many times I have dug right in, only to discover I scored or cut on the wrong piece.

I also jump ahead of instructions and miss an important step. Did that with today's tutorial. I scored the second line the opposite way it should have been scored. So then I rewound the video and saw what I did wrong.

All righty then! I have a ton on my plate today, but I really, really want to do some more falliday cards and the new tutorial... plus make that nugget cake before the nuggets disappear... into me.
Blog: https://istampscrapcraft.wordpress.com/~Rebekah Falliday Fest 2024 dates are October 9-19, with a break on Sunday, October 13th!
Ask me about hosting a challenge!
And Kathy is our Nugget Queen I think! Her "cakes" are beautiful!

By the way....I'm heading out to Walmart and nuggets are on my list! Three down, a million to go! I'm giving one of these to family members for Christmas! Anyone have any idea of where I could get cello bags that would hold these? I'm finding some that are too small and some that are too big, but none that are perfect. I know I could buy cello on a roll but its hard to figure out how to cut them to fit.

Thank you! I'm making them for gifts. The secret is to make sure your nuggets have a long freshness date since I'm making them two months ahead of time.

You're not weird - I just wish you were a boarder in my home!
If I was a boarder at your house, no way would I be cleaning, I'd be locked away in your stamp room!! ;)

Question - if we combine a tutorial (like the twist card) with a challenge (say the wrinkled birthday card) does it count toward both "requirements"? I know the challenge cards all need to be separate to count for the Yeti, I wasn't sure on the tutorials... and quite possibly it is stated somewhere and I didn't see it...
My guesssomething to do with commenting in the gallery perhaps? I know that is always strongly encouraged and I'm trying hard!

Same deal for the tutorial entries - no combining.
Just finished our Algebra 2 lesson (my brain hurts from trying to remember how to do all this stuff with irrational numbers and exponents!) I'd love to run down and craft, but the pooch is awaiting his walk and we still have miles of schoolwork to accomplish.
I'm excited to see the Joy Fold card! Ha, bet you didn't expect that! It is actually one of the folds that I've done quite a bit. You can fit a gift card in the small "card within the card" part of the card so I've made a lot of these over the years.
I'm also anxiously awaiting Mr. Brown with an order of stamping goodies expected to arrive today! Haven't placed an order in quite a while and may not get to place any again for a while now that my outlet for sales of cards has closed so I'm going to focus on really enjoying this one instead of bemoaning the loss.
Argh, I'm just realizing that I didn't put the 4 cards I've managed to finish and upload into the Falliday Fest gallery but put them into other galleries out of habit. Off to edit and get them in the right place. Maybe my mistake will help someone else to remember before they upload!
Last post for a while I promise! For those who are wanting to catch up on commenting (which I for sure need to do at some point today!) remember you can use the menu down at the bottom of the page to sort by # of comments so that those cards that need love get sorted to the top for you. Choose # comments, from beginning, ascending SORT NOW
Also, even though we can't combine Falliday Challenges, you can still combine with other daily challenges. I find that it helps me sometimes to have the sketch, colors or a card to CASE from the featured stamper's gallery to speed up the process of planning my Falliday project.
Though I'm not participating in much of Falliday I was thrilled to read of the card drive yesterday so my plan for today...
I have an almost 12-year old girl Hannah who comes to my house about 4-6 times a year to make cards. She usually has an agenda of what type of cards she wants to make...cards for her family birthday's or get well for people in the church she attends, or thinking of you cards she sends to elderly folks from her church...
Today I'm going to ask if she would like to help me make Happy Birthday cards that I will then send to the card drive!
The pieces are all cut from card classes I've offered in the last year so all we have to do is assemble them...
Also...someone gave me a used Cuttlebug, the old style so I am keeping that and giving Hannah my newer one along with duplicate embossing folders I have from someone...AND now I decided it is time for her to learn to cut her own papers...so...I want to purchase a cutter for her and give her some cardstock...
Happy Falliday Day ahead...
Good for you!! Training the next generation of papercrafters, so all the awesomeness continues!!! Blessings!!

excited about crafting today...just filled the crockpot for supper with a beefy vegetable soup/stew mix. If I can accomplish the smudge, joy fold and frosty leaves cards today I will be even with the board...and maybe can squeeze in some time to try one of the projects which I want to do all of them so far. tomorrow will have limited crafting time due to volunteering to help with an ECO meet at our zoo in the morning, then Friday morning will be providing daycare for two local grandsons ( 11 and 2)while mom and dad are at school work/inservice days. Saturday off to fulfill more volunteer responsibilities 3 hours from home so most the day will be gone doing that...but Sunday----I will play catch up again....LOL! which is generally the story of my life. This is a fun event.....makes me wonder what I've missed in years past because this is the first of these in which I have participated.

Something I've been feeding on that someone said recently..."Focus on the yes and the nos will lose their pull and value on you." So I've been trying to look at the things I can say yes to and not think about all the things I have to say no to right now! Still a work in progress daily!

Thanks so much for clarifying that. I must have read that page 10 times, but the Tutorial part just never clicked in my overwhelmed brain! This is my first venture back into challenges in over a year. In additional to the surgeries, we've moved and I've cut my crafting space and supplies in half, so nothing is the same as the last time as I did anything close, and I'm just a little ( that means a lot) shaky on the details. I'll get there!
Thanks again. I appreciate the help,

Whoot! Little man is finally taking a good nap and I have three birthday cards with wrinkles made! Ahhh, feels so good to be getting inky again!
I, too, have been absent from challenges since little man was born a year ago! I've been looking forward to this b/c I knew it would be just what I needed to find a bit of a stampy groove again!

Congratulations on your little one! And best of luck with the challenge, I joined up more to get started than to get myself all uptight about finishing, but here it is, day 4 and I've got myself all uptight. Oh well, all I can do is my best, right? At least that's what I keep telling myself. I think once I actually sit down and get started, I'll be all right.
Good luck and enjoy your quiet time. Mine are in their 28 and 31 and I have 3 grandchildren now, but I still remember how precious those quiet moments you could catch for yourself were!

Thanks!! I got 3 cards done and the background for the swipe, ink and shine challenge yesterday! Now to hit the pause button and run some errands!

and today's sketch is SO suited for ff challenges! I combined it with the wrinkled birthday challenge, with "dp" bg panel swaps, so I'd end up with more cards to donate. Feeling smug.
Also, I just got home from the pt/mammogram morning. Here's my epiphany:
I'm a retired elementary teacher. Two weeks ago, my dental hygienist cleaned my teeth. Today, the technician who did the mammogram-- well, I found out she's the twin of my dental hygienist, and both are married to former students. Teachers make an impact, and sometimes that comes 'round to bless them... me. In these cases, in VERY intimate ways.
I don't think my gynecologist is a former student...

If they were identical twins, it must have been unnerving to walk in to have a mammo when "she" had just done your teeth! LOL.

Just checking in on this thread. Looks like everyone is having a ball with the Fest. I was laughing at some accomplished stampers confessing their spatial challenges. My sidelines would laugh at me when I would break into a sweat at a meeting when someone was presenting any kind of box. It was a running joke. Now I don't feel so bad! Having said this, I will give the pumpkin a try as it is very cute. Keep stamping everyone. My challenge is coming up on Sunday, so stay tuned. (Shameless advertising!)
I have my notices set to instant but I didn't get a new challenge email notice this morning. I've gotten them the other mornings so far but just not this morning. I checked spam and everything. Is there something I'm not understanding or doing to get the notifications for each one? Thanks :-)
