Hello Fellow Stamp Addicts!

FYI, I am leaving in the wee hours of darkness tomorrow morning - traveling to our state convention office where I'll be helping (grunt work and more) lead our annual teenage girls (2-day) Missions event. We're expecting 350 young ladies this year. WOW! That's a lot! Sooooo after today I won't be on SCS again until Monday. Have a great weekend!

Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning--Happy Halloween! There is snow on the pumpkins today-maybe 2 inches so far and up to 6 in the forecast! Some of the towns in the area that had trick or treat for tonight have postponed it until Saturday! I hope you get treats today and no tricks!

Hello Inky Friends. We spent part of Halloween day snowshoeing! Yes, I think that is a first to do that in October! We did get about 6 inches of heavy, wet snow. It is not supposed to warm up until the end of next week, so it might stick around for a bit. Tomorrow morning, we are heading to northern Wisconsin (where there is no snow.......) for our godson's confirmation-and will be back Sunday night.

Have a good Friday and a great weekend!

Hello Fellow Stamp Addicts!

FYI - We three leave early tomorrow morning for our state convention's Annual Meeting (I love working the Exhibit Hall and also am one of the organizers of this year's Ministers' Wives Luncheon so it's going to be a great but busy time). Unless I pop back in here sometime today, you'll not see me again until Friday.

Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning--we had a nice weekend and today is off to a good start. We drove to Northern Wisconsin Saturday morning as we had our godson's confirmation yesterday. We had a brunch at the house afterwards and watched some football before heading home yesterday. It rained hard the last 2 1/2 hours of the drive, and there are now many leaves on the ground. We though have a pile of snow from the plow guy in the corner of our lawn................... I have a few errands this morning and then time in the stamp room after that. Have a Great Monday!

Hi All, we have gone from winter jostling spring out of the way to mid-summer taking supremacy... hot and hot again, not that I am complaining - it's fabulous to wake up to the sun shining and no clouds, and the temperatures suddenly hot... a body could get a tad confused with the sudden change!

Three of us went to a paper-craft fair on Saturday, in Hamilton (Appox 1 hour north of here - what a magnificent show, although there was a lot of emphasis on scrapbooking and mixed media, there was still lots to see and buy - I have come home badly bent, and will be dining from the freezer and garden for the next while ... don't worry, I will still eat well

Apart from that I have managed a lot of studio time (it's the coolest place to be in this heat) and I also took my monthly class today, with another 'new' member, which is rather nice as the numbers had dwindled a bit.

The roses have broken bud this past weekend, but the veggie garden is a bit behind this year - I only have four tomatoes in and four to plant, sweet corn and zucchini in and three plantings (staggered) of lettuces. There is still a lot of space out there!

Jeanette it sounds as though with all your travelling you don't have time for anything much more, yet you always manage to keep your blog going flat out with your fabulous work!

Barb enjoy your snowshoeing - something I have never done.

Kelly I trust you are behaving yourself between PSL's and other confections from Starbucks

Maggie I trust you will cope with your school load - sounds as though a job would get in the way at the moment, you are so busy with it.

Waving to you from a warm evening in paradise

Ooops - knew there was someone else - Shelly - sounds as though you have had an awesome time visiting, and it's good to see you back. Trust your back held up to all the travel and 'strange' beds .

Default Hello

Good morning!

We have made it to Cape Coral/Ft Myers. Ray had 2 games Sunday, one yesterday...all losses. We found a beautiful church here for mass Sunday, although I liked the one on Friday in Seminole- it was an all school mass and the kids did the singing. The one down here has a very active youth ministry, and the main singer was an adult, but the teens sang in the background.

I have some cardmaking supplies with me and have taken over the kitchen table! I have been fortunate so far to be able to make a card or two every day, and I also finished and mailed out my October Unity ATC's (a tad late). Our group has dwindled down to 6 ladies, but it is still a fun monthly trade to be in and USE my supplies.

Today, Teapot Tuesday is cardmaking for my brother. He is the one with the son that had kidney cancer when he was 5, and has a daughter who is autistic that is now homeschooled. He had a surgery last Thursday- they were going to fuse his ankle, or possibly amputate his lower leg. Luckily, they were able to fuse, now he just has to heal!!! He is 4 months in a wheelchair.....

Maxine- we went from summer- a week or two of fall weather then straight to winter..... I love hearing about your garden, and your roses!
And what does it mean to be badly bent??? Back pain???
Yes, my back does well if I do not sit too much, and I am walking 10,000 steps a day which helps alot! My neck is another story- it is doing OK, but fingers tingle all of the time!

Jeanette- safe trip!

Kelly- I see you are GIU this week- how fun- it is such a fun thing to do, isn't it? I will pop in after this and see your card today!

Maggie- glad school is going well and you have time to devote to it being retired : )

Barb- I know you are keeping busy! DO you still have snow on the ground? I will have to see if our Park District rents snowshoes- that sounds fun!

Have a fabulous day!

Shelly

Congratulations to Shelly for winning the October Challenge over at Dare 2B Artzy!!

Shelly to be badly bent is saying I am not quite broke, but very close... , hence my comment about living out of the freezer and garden for the next week

Good Morning--Happy Hump Day! It is snowing again today and we are to get a couple of inches. I have a few errands to do this afternoon, but will see if I need to postpone them. I made a few cards yesterday and am trying to get ahead as I will be at the state AD conference Friday night through Tuesday afternoon.

Good Morning--Happy Thursday! We did get a few more inches of snow yesterday--this sure does feel like winter! We are taking a pottery class tonight-that is a first for me and should be fun. It runs for 6 weeks-on Thursday nights. I hope you have a Terrific Thursday!

Hello Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Maxine, I loved reading your posts - you are always so sweet in your comments to each of us. I'm glad the freezer and garden are available so you will eat well AND at the same time be able to enjoy your new purchases! YAY! I'll look forward to seeing your creations! (Yes, I managed to keep my blog going - I'm so thankful for blog scheduling, otherwise there would be many days my blog would be blank since I'd be gone. LOL!)

Shelly, I'm glad you've made it to Florida and are enjoying the time there. I'm sorry Ray's games were losses but I hope he enjoys them anyway.

Barb, the four-letter word you keep mentioning... SHEESH! Where is autumn? Truthfully, ours has been much too short and now they're forcasting snow here, too, though we'll likely only git a smidgeon compared to what you've been getting. It's the temperatures in the lower teens that I will grumble about. ;)

Waving to Kelly and Maggie - I hope you're both doing well!

Our trip was great - wonderful meetings and connecting with many people from around our state. Now it's home again and a lot of catching up to do on many fronts.

I've read the thread - you ladies (and Smoochy, too) make me smile!

Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning--Happy Friday! This will be my last post for a few days. We are heading to the state AD conference this afternoon and I will not be back until late Tuesday. I am not taking my laptop-it is heading to the Geek Squad for a tune up. The pottery class was okay last night--I am not sure if I am going to get the hang of it, but I will continue to try! I hope you have a good weekend!

Hi Barb; bye Barb - have a great time! I think it would be challenging to do pottery, but I'm sure you'll master it!

Good Morning Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Yes, it's true! Schools (and Brock's work) are cancelled here, due to the snow/sleet mix we received yesterday! (Unlike the school kids, Brock is NOT happy about the Snow Day.)

Good morning Stamp Addicts. So sorry I have been MIA lately. Lots of school work, doctor appointments, Zoom meeting, etc. etc.

Everything is going well. I finished up the research job I was working on also. Now just waiting to receive my check. One interesting thing is that the law firm hired me because they had not been able to make any contact with the person's siblings or other family members. Yesterday I got a message on FamilySearch from the granddaughter of the person's sister. She was wanting to work together on her family because she thought we were related since I had posted something on the family. I told her that I was a professional genealogist and the rest of the story and not a relative. I did tell her that I would send her the information that I had on the family once I sent it to my client. Waiting to hear back from her with an email or address.

No snow here, but we do have freezing temps. Not a happy camper. I do have lunch plans today with my GF from work that I have a monthly lunch date with. Started getting out cold weather clothes last night. I also fixed up the back patio with all the warm blankets and flannel sheets for my outdoor babies. I make it so they have warm places to sleep and the blankets and sheets cover their beds so that cold wind won't bother them so much.

I haven't had much time to play in my stamp room, but did manage to get one card done on Saturday.

Jeanette, hope none of you have to go anywhere today. I don't think we even had any autumn this year. Went right from summer to winter.

Barb, have a good trip. Good to get the laptop looked at while you're gone.

Shelly, glad that you guys got to spend some time in warm Florida. I"m sure it's a nice break for you. I have four chrysalises in my hutch right now. It's too cold for them to hatch, so I'll keep an eye on them when it warms up some to see if they will come out so they can make that trip south.

Maxine, low on funds is a good reason to have that garden, so much better to have those fresh vegetables anyway. I'm eating out of my freezer also because I have stuff in there that has been there for a long time and needs to be used before it is too late.

I am planning to stop at my former place to get a pedicure today on my way back from lunch and stop by the grocery store also on my way home.

Hi Maggie... it's so good to see you! It looks like you've been very busy.

DH is gone all day today - they're (he and some of our pastors) doing a Windshield Tour of several towns in our association. I was supposed to go to the office to work, but he told me to stay home as the sidewalks, parking lots, etc are a sheet of ice. So Brock and I are homebound today. ;)

Default Hello

Dropping in to say hello. We are freezing here today, the roads are not too slick and nothing cancelled here. I had watercolor class today, cancelled piano since I have been out of town and not practicing. Also have a class tonight at church.

I am just a tad under the weather- a little stomach bug possibly or I ate something that dod not agree with me.

My Religious Ed class had a sub last week while I was gone, and S**T has hit the fan. I have approached the director a couple of times telling her this class is rowdy and disrespectful, but I bet she hears that from many.... well, after the sub, I had a chat/e-mail session that went on all week last week, that resulted in a behavorial contract being written and sent to the parents.
Last evening, I had a parent in the room and the kids were on their best behavior. It was wonderful.

Jeanette- I hope you and Brock have a great day stuck in the house. aka hope you get time to create : )

Maggie- how long can a chrysilas go without dying? It is awesome that you care so much for butterflies and kittens as well! Hope you warm up soon too- Mother Nature!!!

Waving hello to all!

Shelly

Shelly
Sorry you are not feeling well. I do hope it's just a 24 hour bug.

Shelly, I can relate to your rowdy class. Many years ago I taught the 7-8 year olds at church. The boys were the worst. I don't know how we made it through the year. They are all grown up now and living their own lives. Some in college, some working, etc. They did all manage to turn out pretty good in spite of me.

The chrysalis is a marvelous creature. The first year I had butterflies, I had five winter over. They stayed in the chrysalis until Spring when it warmed up. They can't fly when it's cold, so I guess they just know to stay inside where they are protected until the weather gets better. Their brothers and sisters have long gone flown off to Mexico.

I had a really lovely day today. First, I got my discussion post done for my American Foundations class. That is always a big hassle. Now I've even gotten one response done.
I went to meet one of the girls for lunch from my office. It's amazing how we've connected after all these years because although we were friendly and chatted with each other, we were not close and didn't go for lunch or anything. Her boss was the one who was evicted from the office. She and I have really hit it off and we had a great lunch today. Talked about a ton of things, and I have to remember to send her some recipes she asked for.

After lunch I went and had a mani-pedi. The place that I always went to is down by my office, so if it's that time and I'm down there, I go get them done. It was nice to be pampered.
When I got home I had gotten an email from one of the Bishop's counselors from my Ward that he and a member of the Stake Presidency want to come to see me tomorrow night!!!!:confused::confused::shock::shock: That can only mean that they want to give me a Stake calling. I can't imagine. And if so, what about my family history consultant in my ward? I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow night to find out.

Hi girls - we are currently swinging between rain and sunshine - but thankfully the temperatures are pretty warm and the garden is thriving - I planted carrot seed today.

I have been washing the house down, but I cannot reach the high soffets and gable ends, so have a guy from church giving me a hand (I am paying him). He's dong a good job so far.

Apart from that life chugs on pretty normally - I thought we were to get a wet week this week - so far what rain we have had has been overnights only, so have been busy outside rather than in the studio....

Shelly I hope you recover soon - tummy bugs are not nice!

Maggie you are so very busy - and I have learnt now that a chrysalis can over-winter - amazing creations! You sound so very busy - how did you ever have time to work?? We will wait to hear what the visit will bring!

Jeanette I hope you are not iced in for long or you may get cabin fever!... I can understand that Brock does not like snow days - routine is so important to folks.

Kelly - hope you are fit and well and enjoying life as a member of the Dirty Dozen

Waving to you all from Down Under

Hello Fellow Stamp Addicts!

Shelly, it's so good to see you - but I sure wish you felt better. UGH! Sooner than soon, we want you well!

Maggie, I'm glad you and your "new" friend were able to have lunch together. That's interesting to connect after the time of working together.

Maxine, I can barely keep up with washing the laundry (and dishes). I admire you for washing your house. I'm sure it's looking great. (We live in a brick home and thankfully it's maintained by someone other than me.)

Waving to everyone else on this cold day! It was 5 degrees out when I got up this morning. Brrrr! I'm guessing we'll not be seeing any camels out in this weather. ;)

Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning Inky Friends! I had a great conference and I am happy to be back home. They did send my computer in to be repaired, so I am on an old one in order to check in! We got more snow on Monday and additional amounts are to come this afternoon/evening. YUCK--it is only early November! But, the forecast for the weekend is sunshine and temps in the 40's!!!!! I am heading to the treadmill and then the stamp room!

Temps in Texas dropped 50* in 24 hours! Yikes. it's cold outside. At least no snow. Supposed to get rain later tonight and some tomorrow. I'm supposed to go out to lunch tomorrow with a friend and tomorrow night is book club, so I hope it's not too bad.

Gotta work on my research report today AND I need to register for next semester tomorrow.

My house is brick also, so I just need overhang and trim painted every so often.

Found out yesterday that one of the girls that used to work at the office some time ago lost her oldest son yesterday. He was actually in the hospital for tests of some sort. They believe that he had a heart attack. He had been under the care of a cardiologist for many years also. Please pray for her and her family. This is devastating to them.

Sorry about the computer issues, but glad that they can fix it.

I have been working out for most every day for about two months now. (I don't workout on Sunday) Between that and WW I have lost 6 pounds. That's great for me. Still have a bunch more to go.

Good morning. I had to get up a little earlier this morning to register for next semester. Got that done.

I'm supposed to have lunch today with a friend. It's kind of rainy out right now, so I hope that stops before I have to go out. I'm making pumpkin brownies this morning to share.

I need to go to the grocery store, but don't want to in this weather. Maybe it's an Instacart day.

My visit with one of our Stake presidents went well last night. Seems that he just wanted to visit. We have Ward Conference this coming Sunday. I think they are just going around visiting with the members of the Stake. Found out his brother is in my daughter's Ward.

Good Morning! I am online, after a bit of a struggle finding a laptop that would work--but don't ask me to try to print anything as none of them will connect with my printer. It was a bit of a challenge to print labels for a couple of eBay items I sold and needed to ship................ I did make a few cards and will be back in my stamp room again. We have pottery class #2 tonight-I hope it is a little more relaxing than the first one. I was a bit stressed as things were not going smoothly--yes, literally! I know it will get better each time! I hope you have a Terrific Tuesday!

Hello Fellow Stamp Addicts!

FYI - we're going out-of-town for the day tomorrow (going to St. Louis to see a dramatic presentation) so after today you'll not see me again until Monday. Have a great weekend!
