Do they all turn out like a little cap, not completely whole if you will? And I have the same question a poster above did...how do you attach them to paper if nothing sticks to the silicon?
I think she means nothing sticks (permanently) to the non stick craft sheet or hot glue mat (as opposed to nothing sticks to the faux dew drops) so you can peel the faux dew drops off the non stick craft sheet or hot glue mat after the glue cools.
I love this idea! I have glue sticks and inks onhand. I wonder can you make these any flater than a reg dew drop??? I love the look of dew drops but they make my cards to bumpy for mailing.

To attach the glu dots use white glue or someone told me they would heat up their glue gun and touch them back of the dot with it. Since the drops are so small I'll stick to tombow mono adhesive (pen tip in the blue bottle) or a white glue pen. I got a cheap silicone mat I use made by Wilton, you can use a sil-pat, a ranger non-stick craft mat ot a hot glue mat as they are all made of sillicone! I'm so glad you are enjoying this, it is my most popular blog post! Another hint, storing your glue sticks in the freezer until you are ready to use them will keep the stringing down, also I work in my basement which is chilly but it keeps the glue from having too many strings. You may have more diffuculty if you live in a warmer climate. Thanks again for all of you who commented, it makes my day! I made some other shapes of embellisments with the hot glue too and they will be featured in Scrap& Stamp Arts magazine in the Inklings section. I'll let you know when the issue comes out!
This is the non stick craft sheet I use. I use it all the time for heat embossing on. Nothing sticks to it and makes clean up a breeze. I bought it many years ago but I'm thinking I found it at Michaels. It came rolled in a tube in a long thin cardboard box.
Thanks for the tip to use those glitter glue sticks I bought for kid projects and still have dangling around. Will dig them outand give this a try.
As for the glue string "spiders" I found years ago with other crafts if I take a hot blowdryer to them they dissappear. The hair dryer is hot enough to melt the thin strands but not hot enough to melt the larger pieces of glue. Not sure if it works on this project but I'm sure going to give it a try . TYFS!!
You can make dew drops with hot glue and alcohol ink that look like the real thing! how to on my blog: http://thefrugalcrafter.wordpress.co...own-dew-drops/ See how close they look, here is some I made last night:

+1 on all points!
I will have to try to remember to add your blog to my "favorites" this evening when I get home.
I *think* I still have a mini glue gun & glue sticks somewhere in the garage (in the stuff that still isn't unpacked from when I moved a year & a half ago! lol ). If so, I'm going to have to try to make some dew drops in colors that I don't have. That looks like fun!
I have a few tutorials that i want to make and share but I am not sure what program to use. I need to have solid and straight lines. If anyone has any suggestions it would be of great help. Thanks Kym
Lindsey asked about where I got my glitter sticks. I thought I'd answer here. I found them in the floral supply section at Michaels. There were only a few colors in a multi pack. Does anyone have another resourse for these?
I tried making these this weekend and didn't have very much luck :( I put them in a baggie with some drops of my alcohol inks but they did not take the color just got splotchy. So I ordered some colored and glitter glue sticks.
I made some with pearl ex and they look like real perals! see them here:http://thefrugalcrafter.wordpress.co...-card-for-107/

Those look fantastic! Yup, now I have to dig out the hot glue gun. And I'm SO glad I obsessively bought all those colored and glitter hot glue sticks years ago (and never got rid of any). But I'd hoped the pearl ex would work, so glad to see it did!

Hmmmm, what brand ink? You only need 2 or 3 drops. I used Ranger ink. Maybe the bag was too full, I made some other shapes with the glue and crammed too much in once and it didn't take well. Just a thought.

We don't have a micheals but I'll look at AC More in the floral section, they would be great for faux wax seals! thanks for the tip!
