Shell, saw your etching on your blog-cute!
I used the snowman from Doodlecharms, turned out nice. I'm thinking about painting some glue to the inside and sprinkling some snow in--have to get some snow (can't use the stuff that is falling outside right now;)

Thanks so much for this! DH bought me one for Christmas. I checked out the form real quick and just wondered what is the promo code that they're asking for? Does anyone know? Thank you!
I just put everything in for the rebate- you don't need a promo code... that must be for something else... you will have to print out a few pages and send in a copy of your receipt- they charge your card $7.95 processing.
So now i am trying to hook up my new printer so i can print the info and send it in to get my cart's !!! Thanks LADIES!!!:p

Thank you! My dh ordered from custom crops and it hasn't arrived yet. Will the online receipt work or do I need to wait for the cricut to arrive and use that receipt? (Can you tell - I'm really anxious about all this?! )
I hope that works, here is the info:
Cartridge Rebate Form
Buy the Cricut Expresesion at any retailer to receive the Printing 101 and My Community cartridges for free. Valid October 15, 2008 to December 15, 2008
(Must purchase the Cricut Expression between 10/15/2008 and 12/15/200
A $7.95 purchasing fee applies.
I think that the dates, might not work out for you. Good Luck!
Thanks because I really liked the My Community cartridge so I can't wait to get this sorted.
Has anyone seen "Wildcard" or "Calligraphy" in any stores? They look so cool, I need them Thanks!
I did get Tink, Cars, and Sports Mania at the Mikes sale. I was surprised they had them. Still not sure about keeping Cars, don't know what I would use it for, hummmm.....
Our Michael's had the Calligraphy one. I am waiting on that one because I hope to get SCAL for Christmas.
I got Cars, too. I'm keeping it. I could use if for little boy cards or pages, or even for some masculine cards. Not sure what else, but I would bet that I find some uses. I'm sure the layers will be great to use without some of the cars or whatever.

Thanks. I'm so glad that you liked it!!
I bought some Christmas confetti at Mike's Thursday to use on the inside of them.
Okay, I know I've had my little bug for a while, so I should know this, but how the heck to I keep the sticky from transferring to the plastic protector over the mat when I remove it. The first time was fine, but the repeat times, the sticky is transfering to the plastic, and making the mat itself not so sticky. Geesh! ;)
Okay, what is scal that everyone is talking about? Where do you buy, how much?
Oh, and I have plenty of snow, that I will ship to you Shell!!
Chris
Try this link, Chris. FYI - if Provo Craft finds out you're using it, it does void your warranty. My bug is almost 2 years old, and my ebug is almost a year old, so it's not a problem for me. Also, when the DS has an update, it usually locks SCAL out with the firmware they use. HOWEVER, it's usually only for a short time because the guy that writes SCAL puts a fix up quickly.
Basically, it's another program to use with your Cricut. It allows you to cut all true type fonts that you have on your computer and any shape you can make in inkscape (a free program online).

Have you tried using the other side of the plastic?? I know that sounds silly, but mine stick to one side like that, and on the other, I have no issues at all. I always feel it to see which side is bumpy from adhesive, and then put the other side on the mat. Does that make sense?? If not, call me. I will explain!

I get it. I think what I'll do in the future, is mark the up side with a sharpie before I even remove the plastic so I don't have this problem again.
I wonder how the rebate will work with the different receipts that I have from Wal-mart. Oh well, I'll just copy everything and let them figure it out.
Then, when I get the carts, I'll put the Printing 101 up for sale on e-bay, since I already have that one ;)

I'm pretty sure you have to send in the original receipt to get the cricut.com promo. You can keep a copy for yourself... but I always wonder if anything happened to the machine and you went back to Walmart with a photocopy of the receipt if they'd do anything for your or say they can't because it's not the orginal receipt?????
Well, the copy of the receipt must be ok because many office file streamlining tips focus on putting your receipts on computer and getting rid of the paper. But it would be nice to have a definative answer.
has anyone tried the price matching at Creativexpress? I have called all morning & have to leave a message. Does one place the order at regular price, and hope that they will make the adjustment or wait til you hear from them to give you a coupon code?
I'm pretty sure on the printed submission form, that it says that copied receipts are okay. Of course, the form is at home and I'm at work right now. I'll try to remember to post again when I get home and look at the paperwork again.
Sorry, I forgot who had asked about Wild Card but if you want to look I have some cards done from that cart on my gallery here...
Also there is a section for that cart on cricut.com where you can see much more.
But I do think that cart is one of the best, most original things they have come out with! It does not matter if you new to cards or a total pro~ everyone could use that cart! Oh what is also cool is that there are LOTS of great saying on it as well. (kind of like Beyond Birthdays, which I bought and then sold because I just never used it...but glad because there is similar things on Wild Card).
I am a wee depressed I didn't get any carts but I made a promise to myself not to buy anymore this year...for me there are only so many I will use, and I need to use what I have...ya know?
I have a new expression and want to use my Disney cart, however i am having trouble matching the color of Mickey's face. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what color works. Thanks in advance.

I usually use blush blossom when using SU paper, I think.
And i have to say- i have been tryig to email cricut through their links to ask about the receipts/rebate and their link doesn't even work. Tried their hotline for 30 minutes- couldn't get to a live person. Humm. All this and i haven't even opened my Cricut yet... hope this isn't a bad sign...

I've had good response when I've emailed Provocraft with a question, I'm sure they are busy after this big sale etc. I'm and that you will here from them shortly.
I hope so- I keep checking my email but nothing yet. The link they had on their Rebate page didn't work at all. I ended up emailing from their contact us page and hope that one will work. I haven't had it returned so i assume it has gotten to them. I was surprised i couldn't get an actual person to talk to on their phone line...
I have a question about the Cricut points and rewards for the cartridges that came out this year. I tried entering the serial number for mine, but it said that the cartridge wasn't eligible for the points. Do you have to buy the cartridges directly from ProvoCraft in order to get the points, or can you buy them anywhere?

Since I'm new to the Cricut scene, I don't anything about points/rewards. Could you tell me more? Thank you!

I ordered my cartridges from www.customcrops.com and when I opened the little pamphlet, a paper coupon fell out that said "Cricut Rewards" at the top with a serial number on the bottom. The serial number on the coupon was different than the serial number on the cartridge... If you go to www.cricut.com/rewards you can enter your numbers there. I also think there was a link that said "Don't have a paper coupon" or something like that.

Thank you! You've been tons of help. My dh ordered my cricut from customcrops as my Christmas present. It hasn't arrived yet but even when it does, I'm not allowed to have it till Christmas. I'm just trying to get a little jump start on some of the ins/outs of all of this. Thanks again!

Just a reminder - I know about it being a Christmas present but you may want to take it out and make certain it works some people have had issues with them from other vendors.;)

Thank you for the heads up about checking it out upon arrival. Now I have an excuse!

Yep. I clicked on that link but got that message. My cartridges didn't come with the coupons either. Thanks anyway.
There are different options for different points... For example, my home accents came with a coupon for 50 points... For 200 points, you can get 1 of 3 shirts... For 400, there are a couple cartridges and stuff... I don't remember all of the options!

I sent them an email over a month ago and still haven't heard back and yes that silly link about the rebate doesn't work - I told them that in my email... after 2 weeks I called them - waited about 2 minutes after going through that crazy IVR they have and the lady that answered was nice. Now back then I only asked if a Cricut purchased from Walmart qualified for the rebate - didn't think to ask if it had to be the original receipt.
If anyone does call and askes about the receipts please post here.
