Now, has anyone dealt with Custom Crops? They have the C.Expression plus two carts for $279.99, but it's backordered. Is this a too-good-to-be-true situation??? |
I ordered from them last month & got my Ebug. Had no problems. They did backorder mine too but it shipped pretty quickly overall. You can always go to their site & do live chat to ask when it might ship. I also ordered 5 carts from them during the sale last wk.

Hi ladies I have a question, I have had the baby bug for a year now and I don't use it all that much but I love having it. I all of a sudden feel the urge for the E-bug. So my question is, if I was to sell the baby what do you think is a good asking price? Like I said, I've had it a year, I have at least one new mat, I replaced the blade a few months ago and have a spare one. So what do you think?
Thanks in advance for your help

I got my E earlier this year (LOVE IT!) and sold my baby bug to a friend for $70 with extra mats. Hope that helps.

Believe it or not I have still not opened my E that I got last week! I'm holding off on selling my Baby Bug first. I have had several folks asking about it but still not sold ;( Hopefully it will find a new home soon.

My Baby is Gone! baby bug that is...
Well my baby bug has found a new home - a man just picked it up for his wife as a Christmas gift!!! I'm sure it will be in good hands and used to make some great things!
Now I just need to make some time and space for my new E bug!!!
And I finally got through to someone at Cricut.com (long story) - my E bug purchase from Walmart DOES qualify for their current promo! Yippy!! I wanted My Community and now it's free!!!!

Well you know that i've said over and over again that I wish I had time to play with my cricut ... well patience isn't one of my virtues either so making somethign like this would be hard for me BUT having said that I spent some time earlier today looking at a bunch of scrapbook page layouts (to try to get myself motivated to finally work on one) and I found over and over again I was drawn to the pages that either had minimal items on them - say one picture in the middle with flowers or swirls around it (like this one: http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h2...ieKit600px.jpg ) or pages that had a ton of work (like this one: http://www.cricut.com/messageboard/tm.aspx?m=157337 ) so I may have to set a goal for myself and make some pages of my own and 'unfortunately' they will be the labour intensive ones since those are the ones I seem to like. Maybe you'll finally see some of my work!

Congrats on your sale!! If you don't mind can I ask what you sold it for? I think I'm going to sell mine to get the E-bug! YIKES, I haven't told DH my plans as of yet and I think it might be better if I sell the baby first.

Also get Storybook -- it cuts all of the scalloped shapes, not just circles.

Hello. It was a package deal (cricut, 2 pkgs of mats, Base Camp cart, and the green tote) for $225. Don't forget I'm up in Canada and things are more expensive here ;)

I'm thinking of asking $125 for it with one extra mat, what do you all think, is that a fair price?

If you go the eBay route make sure you list it for as high as you want it. I sold a used one on there about 2 months ago for $125 but no extras. I started the bid at $99 because I knew I wanted to take no less. I was honestly hoping it would go higher since it was only used about 10 times.

I think I'm going to try Craigs list first before I go the E-bay route. I have been watching them on E-bay and I think $125 is pretty good for just the cricut, no carts but I wanted to ask here before I did anything, you gals know your stuff ;).

It depends on 'where' you post it for sale - regardless you have to decided what the LOWEST you will go is. I knew I wanted no less then $200 for the package deal so I listed it as $225 on kijiji knowing that folks would offer less. As mnewby said if you are going via ebay you work the other way - put in a starting bid at the lowest price you will go. From what I have seen of the US prices I think $100 - $125 is reasonable. To 'check' yourself go on to ebay and see what they are selling for - that's usually a good way to guide yourself.
Hope that helps!

I found a place to store files free - box.net (in case anyone needs a place) - it looks 'clean' and is easy to use.
Also I just cracked open my Expression!!! And the very first thing I noticed (after the size) was that the power button was INSIDE the lid! I wasn't sure how to 'open it' ;) From what I can tell you manually pull the 'doors' open right? That is just wierd since I'm used to the baby bug which open automatically when you push the power button. I was afriad I'd break it on the first try!
Now I need to read the manual and figurer out what the extra buttons do!

It ALWAYS feels like it's going to break to me. I don't really like that part of it. I do like, though, that I can open it without turning it on.

Now on to step two - I just unboxed my Jukebox. Added 6 carts and hooked up to machine. So far so good - looks like it works but before going any further I decided to start up DSS and update firmware - or at least go through the process just in case needed. I know the baby bug showed somethign on it's screen when I did this - at least I think it did. the E isn't showign anythin? all the lights are on but the screen doesnt' show anything and I'm not sure the update is working... wierd... Shell does this sound right?

okay after 10 minutes the software told me it 'was not successful' - well I could have told it that! Retried and it worked fine! Yippy!!! Oh well it gave me time to run downstairs and make some chilli - it's my superfast and yummy chili since it only takes about 10-15 minutes max to put together and then you just leave it bubble away on the stove for another 20-30 minutes! And it just started to snow heavily outside so a nice bowl of chili will be nice tonight!

confused about portrait vs landscape on E bug
hmmm.. I feel like a stupid user who has never seen a cricut before! URG...
For the first time I realized that the TOP of the mat in DSS is the SIDE of the mat on the machine? So I read my manual for the machine and it talks about Portrait and Landscape.
Is there anyway I can have the machine 'cut what I see' on the screen in the postition I see it? i,e if on the screen i put an image in the upper left corner and I want it to cut in the upper left corner as I look at the front of the machine with the mat loaded?
Make sense?

I understand what you are saying, but I haven't figured out how to do that yet either. maybe someone will know and help us.
I don't have much problem cutting it though. I just design right side up and then when I place the mat in the machine it cuts sideways but no problem. Hold your mat like the mat on screen when you put your papers on it and then just rotate it before putting it in the machine. Look for the arrowhead and make sure it is in the same position as it is on the screen and it's not a problem.
Hope this is of "some" help,
Pam

For the first time I realized that the TOP of the mat in DSS is the SIDE of the mat on the machine? So I read my manual for the machine and it talks about Portrait and Landscape.
Is there anyway I can have the machine 'cut what I see' on the screen in the postition I see it? i,e if on the screen i put an image in the upper left corner and I want it to cut in the upper left corner as I look at the front of the machine with the mat loaded?
Make sense? |
Yikes. I don't know. I think that I've only cut with mine on the DSS, and it always puts it where I think it's going to go.
