You go Kelly! Is this novel already sold, or do you have to submit it to all sorts of publishers?
If I decide to submit it, it will have to make the rounds. This is the first book I've ever written that was not done with a publishable goal in mind. It just seemed like a story I needed to write. I think that's why it came together as well as it did.

Ina, I am so happy you are going to keep our thread gooing. Thank you.
Kelly, I am with Debbie, when do we get to read your book? So exciting!
Happy Thanksgiving or week-end, everyone!
DH and I had my Mom over for dinner, and tonight DH and I are going Black Friday
shopping at 8:00! Can't believe it. We have only went maybe two other times in our whole life, but Walmart has a sewing machine for $50.00. The one have is over 40 years old. I mainly want it to sew on cards. LOL
love you all and am thankful for you all.
Sharo
Ditto.
Not sure this one will ever be published, Sharon. But if you want to read the concept behind it, you'll find a blurb on my author blog. Can't remember if I posted it here or not.
There is a content warning page you'll need to approve before it will let you into the site. But that's because not everything I write is 'sweet'. hehe The Writers Studio

Sharon, did you get your sewing machine? that is such a good deal! Jan, there are new coupons every week, so I am sure you will have some at the time you come to the U.S.
I did not do any black Friday shopping. It's getting to be a big thing here in Canada too, even though we don't have Thanksgiving at this time. Our merchants were upset about people crossing the border to make lots of great purchases, so they decided to have Black Friday deals too. I spent the day doing volunteer work at Galcom, putting together fixed station radios, that are given out throughout the world so that people can have Christian programing in remote areas. A group of 11 from our church drove to Hamilton. My job was to put hot glues into a plastic base, fit in a solar panel (about 3X4.5 inches) and snap on a plastic cover. We were working on radios for Southern Sudan. Our group along with about 6 regular volunteers assembled 500 radios, which was a record for one day.
What an awesome project, Ina! Very cool

Hello! I thought I'd come introduce myself as I'm planning to join in next year. Toni's signature line is just so darn inspiring I'm giving this another go. Tried a few years ago on my own and it ended badly. ;) I'm excited to read through the thread and get a game plan going!
Welcome, Paula!
Yeah, Toni has a way of silently inspiring us all. We love her ;-)

Okay, ladies. Just so you know I didn't forget this week's challenge. After the holiday weekend, I was just exhausted yesterday. More than I thought I was until I sat down at the computer to start my work week. Let's just say I took an extra day off hehe.
Between the drive on Friday, Abby's night terrors on Friday night, being on the go all day Saturday, Adrian's leg cramps on Saturday night then the drive back mixed with shopping in Paducah KY on Sunday... yeah, I was a tired grandma yesterday. But I wouldn't have missed a single minute of it!

Have you thought about getting your Christmas cards mailed? If you've not heard, postage is going up another cent after the first of the year. I know it's not a lot in the grand scheme of things, but if you can swing it.... why not pick up your Christmas postage stamps for 2013 when you buy this years. I've purchased my Valentine and Christmas stamps for next year. Yep... overachiever :-D
So what do postage stamps have to do with this week's challenge?
November is National Stamp Collecting Month...
Sadly, I think they mean POSTAGE stamps and not RUBBER stamps.
So your Challenge for this week is to incorporate any of the following:
1) a postage/ or postmark stamped image
2) a postage stamp mat (you know... the mat will have the edged look of a stamp)

You know that here in Spain our post office are reluctant to sell stamps, they say we have to have our mail weighed! I suppose they assume that all our mail is being sent abroad, can't really argue with that!
Kelly, you amaze me with all your energy.....all that you accomplish, even though you did get tired.
Thanks for the challenge....it's a great one! I have postage stamp stickers! I usually buy a roll of 100 stamps that are 'forever' stamps. So even if the postage goes up, they will still be valid!

I can outrun the energizer bunny most days. I have to hit the floor running in the morning. If I take even an hour to enjoy coffee and breakfast, it sets the pace for the rest of my day. Drive Bob nuts when he's home hee

I need to update my totals again. I know i won't be in the black. I found some things online at good prices I just couldn't pass up. I really need to get busy with my coworkers' presents so I'm not doing them at the last minute. That will help a little. And I was so close to climbing out that hole.
I just had to update again.......this is the first time this year I have been in the black!! I just fin.ished making a bunch of photo cards, as one of the ladies at Curves really wanted to see my sunrise photo cards

Here are the teapot favors we made for our Church's Christmas Tea. We had it this morning. It turned out really well. Here are the thank yous I made for the ones who participated in the program.
Now, moving on to the next project!
Shaorn
Hello my S2S bunnies!
So good to hear lots about what you guys are up to. Congrats Ina for getting n the black! That is great!
As you notice I didn't keep track this year, but I have, none the less been restrained! Yesterday I placed my first order since the new SU catty came out! And some of it I will use for my Norwex orders, after all I reckon if people are going to order cleaning products they might as well come in a nice package!
Not much else here, just lots on doing intensive therapy with ken. Tidied my stamp place today and re-found those images you have me Ina! Motivation! Also cleaned all my dirty stamps! ( I put all the dirty ones in a box and clean lots at once)
I will get there gradually!
I do so love dropping in here occasionally!
Thanks Gals!
Well done Ina, I need to update my totals and fingers crossed I should be in the black, just, mind you by the time I get back at the end of January from our trip I will be well and truly in the red, DIL says she has warned joanna and michaels to restock as I'm on my way.
Well, I haven't kept track since I had coomputer issues in March, but for the most part I think I did ok for the year. Most of the year I was feeling like I couldn't find what I already had so I really didn't need to add to the pile that didn't have homes. making a few cards for the CCC and AOCC really did help. Going to clear the totals in my spread sheet so I am ready to go for 2013.
Kelly thank you for all you do for all of the challenges!
I just added up my totals and it only changed by pennies. I was almost even this month. It changed by 7 cents! So, I guess that is good.
Sharon
Oh, I explained all of this to my DH. He asked if I counted gas costs! LOL He drove me to Joanns so we could both use a 60% off coupon on some adhesive last Sunday after church! It did save me a total of $5.00
Hey girls
I'll have to post the challenge on Tuesday. Hubby and I ran away for the weekend. I don't have the flash drive with me that has the challenges.

This week we have a combined challenge representing two events.
#1 - Today (Dec. 5) would have been Walt Disney's BD We have his creative genius to thank for Mickey Mouse and other characters we grew up loving... and still share with our children today.
#2 - Did you know Blue Jeans were created on this day in 1860?
So your Challenge this week is to create something with a DISNEY theme and include the color of blue Jeans.

At last I've made it put of the red, won't last long though once I get to San Francisco, I'll be deeply in the red by the time I get back, but what fun I will have, all that craft shopping.
I wish I could say I am out of the red, but I keep finding things I "just can't live without". However, I have been passing up all the new dp I've been seeing. It's been real tempting, until I look at what I have to use up. No more new pretty papers for me for awhile.
Jan, when do you leave for SF? I know it's soon; but not soon enough for you.
We leave here on 17th, we are counting the days, we have about 24hrs travelling but we will be too excited to care, I have started packing and cleaning as we have a busy week next week with a hospital visit to round off the week so I am doing a bit each day.
Plenty of lists, Steve hates the build up to a trip as I have to leave everything just so, he says he's sure if anyone broke in they would pause for a minute to admire how clean everywhere is!

LOL
Bob laughs at me for changing the sheets the night before we leave. He has been known to ask if I'm expecting someone to break in and want a place to sleep LOL

I won't know until closer to Christmas where my totals are. I don't have any spare time until Bob leaves on the 18th. My feature for Polymer Cafe is due by the 15th... then I can breathe.

The other thing that has kept me busy the past week is the opportunity to make a new friend. His name is Maestro Steven Byess. He is a world renowned conductor. You can check out his web page if you'd like... www.stevenbyess.com
I interviewed him on Tuesday night while he was in our little town of 600 people with the Polish Sinfonia (8 piece orchestra). This is the 4th year they've come to Birch Tree and the 2nd time I've met Steven. We had dinner on Tuesday night then Wed after the concert, I had lunch with the entire ensemble. What an awesome experience. Steven and I now text regularly.
When I first saw him last year the first thing that popped into my head was Richard Gere in Pretty Woman. My photos show him much differently than his website.
He is so good with children... explaining music in terms they'll understand. He's produced a project with PBS called Count On It! - showing the correlation between Math and Music.

Glad I'm not the only crazy one, but I was pleased I leave everywhere clean as last year when I had to bring steve home from SF and he was so ill our fiends came in to light the fire and leave a meal for us, was I glad that it was all clean, you just never know.
I can see what you mean Kelly about Richard Gere, just loved that film
Yep.. me too. Give me that piano scene any day of the week! Or the bathtub LOL
I met his girl friend last year. Sara is a redhead. Go figure! LOL She couldn't come with him this year so I became the 4th at dinner on Tuesday night. After our hosts left, Steven and I closed the restaurant, talking about everything imaginable. They literally were mopping the floor around us as we talked LOL

He might laugh, but I bet he appreciates coming home to a nice clean bed.
