This year seems to be going by faster than most. Maybe it's because I've been busier than usual. I'm hoping life slows down some by the end of July. There isn't a single week in July that we don't have something that needs to be done. We're trying to find a good day that DH can have his nose fixed. He wants to wait until we have all these projects done before he has that done. Hopefully, his breathing will be a bit better. I'm going to start working more hours next week so I'll have a little less time to get things done. My house is a disaster right now. Would someone please send me the cleaning fairy?
Sorry, Debbie. They're booked here too. I'll get a kick-start after Adrian leaves on the 5th. Of course I'm going away for the weekend of the 7th, have to go to Springfield for a writer event on the 14th and then again ( as a speaker) on the 4th Sat. Yeah... it's going to be busy!

Hello ladies! Did you miss me? It's been a couple of months. I have actually tried to spend less time on the computer.
My girls have kept me busy busy with their dance stuff. They have been at all day dance workshops for the past three weeks and it is amazing how much I can get done with them not here. They have next week off and then we head to the beach for a week, then they have a week off before they do a weeklong dance boot camp. Whew!
I do have a prayer request if you are inclined to do so. My dh had a colonoscopy last friday and they found and removed one polyp but other than that it looked "remarkable" as the nurse said. Well, the polyp tests came back as a tumor. He has to go back this Friday to have the spot where the polyp was tattooed and then possibly surgery in a couple of weeks after we get back from vacation. Hopefully when the polyp was removed that took care of it. BTW, if you are one of my FB friends please don't mention it on there because we haven't told the girls anything. We are waiting until we know exactly what is going on.
I'll try to catch up on this thread and take a look at everyone's cards soon. Now, I need to go clean some.

Your DH will be in my prayers. That is heart-stopping news. My 32 yo daughter had to have a hysterectomy in May because of cancerous tumors in her uterus. Thanks to God, they got all of it before the cancer started to spread. Prayer is so powerful that I believe your DH is going to be ok.
Michele, do you know yet if they're going to have to do surgery on your DH? Keep us posted.
Yes, they will do surgery. We are just waiting on a date. The surgeon will go in to see if there is anything else and will do whatever needs done then. so, we won't know anything definite until after the surgery. I'll update when I know more.
Hi Michelle, I know you don't know me but I know what you are going through, I will be thinking of you and your family and hoping all goes well for your husband.
Michele, I did miss you! So sorry to hear about what you are going thru. You are in my prayers. My DH went thru simalar problems about 5 years ago. He is fine now, but of course that doesn't help what you are going thru now. Just know we are here!

Hi ladies,
I saw the totals on yellowrose46 postings and asked her what this was. She answered and here I am. Tomorrow starts the second half of the year and I will set up my ledger and hopefully be able to fall in line with all of you. I have enjoyed reading all 15 pages of comments!
I'm so glad you have decided to join us Rita! I am going to update my totals and instead of getting less in the hole, I am going deeper. But, as has been said in this forum....it's all about awareness!

I just made up my Excel spreadsheet. What I did for "cards mailed" was: For each card mailed as some of you did ($.10) I am putting down the actual postage for the day. Is that ok? Then I know at the end of the year what this card sending is costing me in postage - just for the fun of it - as Ina said "AWARENESS"!
Just when I'd got back into the black on my spending after my little splurge last week my DH said yesterday, why don't you treat yourself to a few bits off your wish, well no sooner said than done, now I'm well and truly in the red again, I must admit Its has made me more aware of wastage and Ive been trying to use scraps of card for layers, and I really have plenty to use up! Don't think I'll keep a record of postage though, it would scare me as I send family cards from Spain to San Francisco , costs an arm and a leg.

I am glad you are joining us. I pay myself 25 cents when I mail or use a card, but have wondered why it wasn't the whole cost of the postage. Sounds good to me. I think we all do it differently. I am one that just pays myself for the paper crafting. But some do it for other things, too, like exercize and things.
I think whatever you do that helps you out with what you do. Kelly says just making us aware of what we are spending, but also motivation to do more.

Because everyone plays with the traditional holidays - Canada Day and Independence Day, I chose a different event for this week...
Let's all go to the CIRCUS!
July 5th 1810 marks the birth of circus founder P.T. Barnum.
P.T gave us a lot of great memories over the generations and paved the way for clowns and circus performers along the way.
So in honor of P.T...
Create a card with a CIRCUS THEME... it might make a great birthday card but it doesn't have to be.
BONUS -
Include a TICKET somewhere in your design
Have Fun

Oh great, I've got some free papers out of a mag with a circus theme, and our own Nottingham ice dance champions, torvil and Dean , probably doesn't mean anything to anyone not in England, danced their way to the ice dance British championship in 1982 to Barnum.
Yes, I think I have some circus paper too!
I have been forgetting to post my Scrapbook challenges here for those that are interested. You should come by and visit at least and go listen to the inspiring video. It is great. Here is this week's America the Beautiful Inspriation Challenge and here are my pages. And by the way Rita, I also pay myself for my scrap pages.

woo hoo, I actually made a card just because! Well, sort of just because. I got an order in today of lots of new SU stuff and couldn't wait to ink up this stamp set. My new favorite SU color is now Midnight Muse. LOVE that color.
Michele, I really don't need anyone to enable my spending habits. I finally got myself in the black and you come up with this card. My SU wishlist just keeps getting bigger and bigger.

Well then don't look at the SU holiday catalog coming out in August. I am in so much trouble with it!

Loved to watch Torvil and Dean perform. Such grace

Ive managed to make this Circus themed card into two challenges, its the first time Ive managed to do it, Im also using it for the Stars and Stripes Challenge,

I don't count postage either, Jan. BUT I do pay myself 10 cents for each card I actually mail. We can make a ton of cards, but sometimes it's the getting them mailed part we have problems with hehe
