Hi Jennifer and Carlene! I'm watching NCIS online and catching up on chatter during the commercials that I can no longer skip. Ha, just because they have to play doesn't mean I have to watch them! I made my M card tonight and will upload it tomorrow morning. I'm quite happy with how it turned out.
Carlene - is that simply a regular theater just one with reclining seats? The local one I know about is the Studio Movie Grill where I think you have to buy food while watching - but I'm not sure.
Yes, it's a regular theater...used to have what they called stadium seating...has 17 theaters, called Auburn 17...it's a Regal. They remodeled it to the reclining seats about six months ago! The one in Federal Way, about 15 to 20 minutes further west is a Cinemark. There's another one in Tacoma, south of us that's a Regal...probably a good 50 minutes from us. Love those puffy recliner seats with drink holders on each side of you.
I've heard they have one of those dining theaters north of us toward Seattle, but may be on the west side of Lake Washington so toward Bellevue. My DD, who lived in West Virginia for two years, said they had an eating theater there...good food...think they also had alcoholic beverages...beer and wine.

Love NCIS Catherine. Haven't started this year because I'm still catching up on the end of last springs shows still on my DVR, but did NCIS first. Still have Blacklist, Chicago Med, Bull, Last Ship, Zoo, and Outlander...then I can start on new fall shows! I think the moral of this story is that I have too many shows I like, don't watch TV often enough or too much??? LOL

Happy birthday Jack! What a great age! My little man turned three at the end of august. No day he told his Grammy that silly ain't Kathy put his nighty on! I thought it was a shirt, and wondered why it was so long. Guess he wears that one to bed. But the little booger didn't tell me it was his bed shirt. He just let me put it on him! I watch him for four hours tomorrow. I will not be making the same mistake! LOL
On the subject of cutters (my 2 cents worth)- buy an office guillotine. I have an Xacto that I bought at an office clearance store many years ago (over 14), and it continues to be one of the best things I ever bought. Yes, it takes some space, but I have the perfect place on top of my flat files. Mine looks pretty much like this:
With the lines it makes it simple to get exactly square cuts. It's heavy duty, self sharpening, and lasts forever. It's 12 X 12, so I can pretty much cut anything. I couldn't live without my guillotine!!!
Hello everyone! I uploaded my M card this morning and then dashed out the door. I had to get to work early, which I did. Now I'm home early but will do some work from home. However, I wanted to check in with all of you first.
Ann - happy birthday to Jack! It sounds like he has selected a fine menu.
Carlene - I looked at that movie studio's website and yes, they also sell alcoholic beverages.
Kathy - I hope to get a chance to try the tutorial. I don't know if I have watercolor paper that is heavy enough and I don't know if my rubbing alcohol has that high of a percentage but I'll try it and see what I get! I hope your son's appointment went well this morning.
I wonder how long the SU convention is? Yikes, that means more in color inks coming out in January.
Pat - we have a couple guillotine cutters similar to that at work. One is old and heavy duty quality. It was getting dull and someone decided we needed a new one so they bought one and donated it. It is all plastic and light weight. What they didn't know was that, at that time, we had a senior gentleman in our congregation who would take our trimmer home and sharpen it for us. When it gets dull again I don't what we'll do because that gentleman is no longer with us.
No in color inks coming in january-they only change those with the new annual catalog in June.
I just got rid of my xacto guillotine cutter. It may have been my fault for cutting too thick of stuff but somehow it quit cutting straight. So did my fiskars guillotine so I won't use my tonic on the chipboard.
Whew! That's a relief about the inks. That's right, the pressure with January isn't new inks, it is "have I ordered everything from the holiday catalog that I wanted?" Considering I haven't ordered anything from the holiday catalog, I can safely, unfortunately, answer that with a NO!
And congrats on your perch catch! Since you've already received some snow, I can see why that might be your last fishing outing until spring.
My worry is always will the stuff I like carry over to the annual catalog in June! Those acetate boxes are awesome. I ordered another pack. But there's so many ways to use them!
I know. But I also know that I can't possibly buy everything they make that I would like to purchase so...For instance, that lovely Star of Light stamp set with the matching Starlight thinlits, I loved those and wanted to add them to my collection but wasn't able to do so in time. I have to remind myself that they are always coming out with wonderful stuff and then other companies are too and I can't possibly get it all. Concord & 9th's turnabout stamps are another wish list item.
I'm waiting on my first layer in the drunken acrylic reveal to dry. It says you can't help it with the heat tool! I'm not very good at waiting when it comes to craft stuff!
I watched the tutorial and thought it looked like fun but it would require patience! I guess what I should do is one layer before work, one layer after, and the next layer the next morning and just do other stuff after finishing the layer. Hmmm, maybe I'll got set up a layer now.
Because your first layer isn't dry? Or something went awry?
I don't know. The first layer looked dry. But my second layer just covered the first. The alcohol didn't seem to pull up the color from below. I will wait until tomorrow for the third layer.
Ann - Thank you for the update on Dani. Sounds like things are progressing in the right direction. At a snail's pace, but the race wasn't won by the hare. Glad to hear that she has a good attitude about it. That will help. Thanks again.
I wish I could watch TV while I craft, but no TV outlet in my craft area. Should I ever get my craft room done, I'm talking my carpenter son into adding a TV outlet for sure! Of course, I have big dreams for that craft room!
I finally finished one really horrific project. I got all my random stamps into Stampin' Up boxes (purchased empty ones from SU). I had to cut the cardboard backing sheet on many to have them fit. Some of the polymer clears, I had to cut down and piece onto case lids because they were sold in too large a size just to insert in the box as is. I use my 3M tape gun to glue the trimmed plastic sheeting down to the box lids as you can really double up two layers...boxes are deep enough for that. Then I used by Brother Label Maker and put the name of stamp and company name on and tape it to the box spine. I file my stamps by alphabet.
I am also in the long process of making a binder with pictures of all my stamp set so I can thumb through to see what I have when I want to make something. I do have Christmas, Halloween, and Easter separated from the regular Alpha file of stamps. I may eventually separate out Valentine's but many of those are usable throughout the year. This project is a long-term project because I keep adding to my stamp inventory. Seems like I'll never get done at this rate!

Good morning. Too early to be up but my head, and the dog’s, is still on the old time, so it’s 7:30 and time to get up. I have a dermatologist check-in at 7:45 anyway, so might as well stay up.
Kathy, my cutter started cutting crooked. I thought it was me. But the more paper I cut, the worse it got. How can something that cuts in a groove cut crooked? I finally threw it away.
I haven’t tried the drunken acrylic reveal yet but it’s on my agenda today. I spent nine hours crafting straight through yesterday. Two cards for DD for November 15, three to go, two sets of ATC cards for swaps, and a double challenge. I was so irritable by the time I went to bed. I don’t know why I pile stuff on myself like that.
Kathy and Catherine, I also have no patience with dry time! I want to finish it now!
Ann, thank you for the update on Dani. I sent her a card and letter last week. Time to write another one.

Good morning, Carlene. You know, a label maker is the one gadget i don’t have yet... Hmmm.
I clean up my craft area, and the next time I buy something I drag everything out to make a card, and then my table and the floor around me is a mess again. New items begat messes, it appears. I have binders for the acrylic stamps, a large binder that holds embossing folders, a box with magnetic sheets to hold dies, and storage boxes to hold flowers and stickers. Those I can control. It’s those dang paper pads that keep multiplying and scattering paper all over that I can’t keep cleaned up.
Good for you to keep trying to corral your stamps! I have no record of my wood stamps at all!

JCIGood morning Kandie. How fun that you crafted for nine hours!
What fun ro get a day like that! And you got so much done!
Kathy, I have lots of panels different sizes drying with the drunken technique. I had one color that didn’t work when I put the drops on. I think my acrylic paint is too old. I bought a bunch on sale over five years ago when I got my geli plate. A couple of the bottles were so thick I had to dig it out! But I tried using it anyway with a little water.
And how does Lydia do that video and not get her fingers dirty? That is what I want to know! LOL
Carlene, speaking of horrific projects, I still have about 20 to un-mount, and I have just quit! I am happy with what is done, but just run out of gas and quit for now!
Good for you for making an inventory. I have quit on that, too, because I accumulated so fast I couldn’t keep up! For about the last three months I have trie not to accumulate anything, in fact sold a lot of stash, both stamps and supplies at a craft garage sale. It helped a little. LOL
Going to the doctor this morning and hope to get a release for my other eye surgery.
Hope when I come home to play in my craft room, but DH wants to go look for him a recliner.

Good morning! It is a balmy 52 degrees this morning. We got some good rain last night - which meant that little Honey didn't want to go outside to do her business. Poor thing, we are headed into weather she doesn't like.
Creating the index of your stamps, I loaded everything into Evernote so I can search digitally. I really like it, though I also quite like looking through a paper directory. I tell my DH that I am a dinosaur in that respect. However, I like that when I type birthday into Evernote, it brings up everything I have that has birthday on it so I can see, quickly, every stamp I own that says birthday, the font, what it looks like. What isn't obvious on Evernote, in my opinion, is the size of the stamp which is where the paper directory has a distinct advantage.
Sharon - I still need to get brave and tackle the unmounting my wood stamps. I really need to do that. I could eliminate an entire big bin if I would just do the work!
My drunken reveal piece worked this time. Let me just say that I think my paint was not diluted enough. I watered it down more this time and first layer dried overnight so I added the second layer before I left and just now added third. I wasted a sheet of water color paper through the process, but it was not expensive so I'm OK with learning as I go.
