Hey gals! I covered my BO Bunny chipboard word "LOVE". It's the first one I've ever done! OMG OMG OMG I see giving these as a few fill in gifts this year! I'm going to count it as a double page layout because it took A WHILE to cut the paper and glue BOTH SIDES. Now that I have done it I wanna do it again! fun fun fun! I cant wait to embellish it now!
I've got to go to HL and buy some jump rings! I think I'll look at some nesties since they are on the same aisle.....tee hee
Oh yes I need more adhesive.

Suggestions, please!
Hey Girlies,
Today I dung-ed out EIGHT boxes of crappola. EIGHT. 8. eight. E-I-G-H-T....we have moved these suckers from house to house for the last few years and it felt SOOOOOOOOOO GOOD to get them charity-ed and recycled! The treasures that I found: old Christmas and birthday cards from relatives who have since passed on. Here's the thought: I want to do something with the cards, want to integrate them into my albums...not sure how!?!?!
I did keep the super cute cards (of no sentimental value) to use in my albums as embellies (recycle, right!)....but the cards ....from great-Nana and such.... any thoughts?! I was thinking of somehow using Collette's technique with the clear envelopes from SUp to make a flip book...... I'd appreciate your suggestions!!!

I think that is an AWESOME idea. Maybe a page with the flip book dedicated to the sender (i.e. great Nana)
or can you collage them? or like a mosaic?
Yay for you getting some stuff outta the house and outta the way. I'm working on mine too!

Ok gals, I'm counting my BO BUNNY books that I'm altering as a double page. I am covering fronts and back plus I'm using more paper than I would on a dp.
Here is my first altered chipboard "thing" I cant wait to do more. I have lots of little albums in mind.

OMG, GOOD FOR YOU!!! That's so awesome - I've been doing so much decluttering throughout the move, but I still have way too much stuff!! Congrats to you!
I am not sure this would be useful or not, depends on whether or not you want to save what's written inside; I have cut apart greeting cards and used them as collage backgrounds. We also used to cut greeting card fronts into shapes and laced them together to make these little baskets that you use as Christmas tree ornaments. That way it's kind of like having things from your family on your tree, but it's not great if you want to save what's written. If you do want to save what's written, you could do a page with a big pocket or envelope that you could stick them in with a picture of the person that gave them to you or something like that...

AJMac, I like the idea of making them into a booklet....I will have to crop them anyway (cards are a mish-mash of sizes)...perhaps a few little booklets to use as embellies on top of the page protectors (have done that before and love the interactive feel to the page).....hmmm....good thinking, thanks for the suggestion!
How do you make baskets out of cards? That sounds like a fun project anyway!

I'd also like it to be known that they were BIG boxes and they were those last ones from the moves ...the ones where you quickly huck everything still in the kitchen and that forgotten closet into one box as the movers pull into the driveway......ya.....so really, it was like EIGHTEEN boxes that I went through today! lol
Oh, and I scrapped 4 pages...really detail-y and super-proud-of-myself pages, too! I'm so loving having my scrappy mojo back.....it's the fall, it do love the fall!!! :-)

Wow, Misti. I've never been brave enough to tackle one of those word albums so, YOU ROCK!

oh girl, it was so fun! I loved it because it is a 6x12. I used some scraps and some single sheets I had left over. fun fun fun. I also figured out that using my xacto blade was much better than my scissors.
You should try it. I'm planning on giving several as gifts.

I've seen girls using sanding tools to get the paper off.....did you do that?! And what about adhesive? Did you super glue the paper to the board...did it lift when you were cutting? Enquiring minds want to know......

I only sanded around the edges. It didn't take much at all. I had some liquid glue and used it. I spread it very thinly.
I actually glued the paper then flipped the page over and cut around it with my xacto knife. I could get a "perfect" cut that way
I loved using my double sided paper because I would use the exact opposite on the back side, therefore I knew I would have "matching" letters (you know how I am about "Matching")

oh yes, then I used my crop o dile to make perfect holes that matched the prepunched holes for the jump rings

I've admired kittie's work since I joined scs. She is uber talented. I can't imagine making more than one of those! I'm making the Cardinal Christmas card for my mom this year and it's pretty much a no brainer but coloring that much for a Christmas card? I'd only give it to someone who I know wouldn't throw it away the day after Christmas.

I'd have to risk offending my cards with this disclaimer: "Before you open this card, you must solemnly swear to keep it forevermore, from this day forth, and upon your death you must bequeath it to someone who will swear this same oath...." Crazy-detailed, those cards are!

I just took a peek at those cards you two were chatting about (Misti & Kristen) Wow Whee! Now those are some cards from the heart. I can only imagine how much time went into those. And I love to color too. Just don't know if I could do that much.
Thanks for looking!:p BTW this puts me at 50 pages for the year. Now, that's nowhere near my goal and compared to some of you super achievers out there, this is no big feat. But considering I scrapped less than 10 pages last year, I'm pretty stoked about it. :p

OMG, Jennipher--what a fabulous page! I LOVE it! And congrats on getting 50 pages done so far. I can appreciate it--I'm like you--getting that many pages done is quite an accomplishment!

AFTERNOON LADIES....
I finished four pages last night. They don't fit into any current challenge and they are just pages I put together of extra pictures I had laying around and I wanted to get them off my desk. So maybe I will upload them later...idk!
Here is a card from one of my favorite cardmakers--Faith Hofrichter (markie's mom on SCS). Her gallery is full of gorgeous, vibrant cards. I go back and forth between card making and scrapbook pages. I've definitely been on more of a scrapbook kick this year though!
Isn't Markie's Mom amazing. I have her bookmarked and I look at every card she makes. She enters every single challenge and uploads every day to whatever challenge there is. She is totally awesome.
