I think I'm missing something....can anyone else see a post ? Maybe its my goofy tablet....

mcschmidty 11-23-2015 06:06 PM

Hello

We usually go to Hubby's side for Thanksgiving, but this year, my parents are having us and celebrating a mass for their 60th wedding anniversary (which was in May). We are all spread out in the US, so 5 of the 7 kids will be there with some of the kids. They live in Northern Ky.

Parents are 86 and 87, so we decided to do a buffet for Thanksgiving so my Mom will not get too exhausted. Then, we will go out to dinner Sat. after the mass.

So, no cooking for me at all. I will have to come up with healthy snacks to bring....4 days in a hotel.

Blessings to all- hope you all have a wonderful family gathering : )

Shelly

Picked up the first Thanksgiving "guest" my middle DD home from college! Had to stop and grab a few more Thanksgiving menu items. Youngest DD peeled 10lbs potatoes and made our Mashed Potato Casseroles ahead. Yummmy!

Congrats to the latest winners. Have fun at The Cat's Pajamas....cool stuff there!

My grandma made a fruitbread at Christmas time. I haven't made any in a couple of years because it is quite a chore, uses LOTS of dried fruit and makes MANY loaves. I really like it though. It is a yeast bread chock full of dried fruits and my grandma always put in black walnuts. My grandpa would crack nuts and grandma worked on quilts through the winter months.

I put my answer in and I hope I figured out how we were supposed to find the answer.

It was a big blank for me until I replied. How did I reply without seeing it in Lydia's post? I clicked on the "Quote" button in her post, which brought it up in another window. Then I broke down the HTML info to find a Google Docs link, which I put into my browser. Voila!

Why am I able to figure that out, but I can't figure out how to add a simple Internet photo to my posts without first downloading it to my own computer? I finally figured out how to post a video, but I don't think I could do that again if my life depended on it.

Heading out with daughter to Black Friday on Tuesday at JoAnn's...

3 categories...

flannel or knit 4-yards
Tombow refills
double-sided paper-10 pieces, personal limit, sale or no sale

I've done well at not shopping at JoAnn's or Michael's and I want that to continue but...DD wants to buy some flannel so I'm driving her into the metro...

FayeMakesCards 11-24-2015 02:26 AM

The title for the set I listed is rather sad if taken out of context... :(

How do companies come up with names for their sets?

Now I must hurry that DD along...she's primping and we are not even seeing her fiance :p I"ve been ready for 15-minutes...got dressed, combed my hair, brushed the teeth...

Ready, set, go...

mamaxsix 11-24-2015 03:38 AM

Good morning; I woke earlier than I needed to and now there's a 2 hour school delay due to fog. Happy day for the kids who could use a little extra sleep. Since we've done so well prepping the food for the holiday, today is prep the house!!!!
I may reward myself with a little stamping at some point today. I have an idea for place cards for the table.

I can't see the doc and not having luck like Melissa did to figure it out.

muscrat 11-24-2015 05:02 AM

Melissa, thanks for replying to my post. No one else was answering so I felt invisible!

That's SO weird! I can see it and we got tons of answers - what browser do you use?

On pictures - click on the photo you want to add until it's full size, right click and choose copy image location - then add it in the link area in your post after you click the photo icon.

muscrat 11-24-2015 05:31 AM

I'm on Chrome on my tablet, so I assumed it was just me that couldn't see it! I was happy ( not really happy) to see at least one other person couldn't see it!

Connectivity issues can delay iframes - so if your internet or browser is running slow, it will often kill off embedded images and display other, faster loading page content.

muscrat 11-24-2015 05:46 AM

Oh my gosh! I see it all now! I've been trying to see it since last night. I had no trouble with YouTube videos or anything else and this is the first time I hadn't seen the questions.

Well, not the original question, but I see the winners and the new question!

Tracijd 11-24-2015 06:52 AM

Oh yay, I won a Taylored Expressions prize. Thank you! I love Taylored Expressions!

superjen 11-24-2015 07:03 AM

Wow! I WON! I go away on vacation, away from the Internet and return to find something to make me do the Happy Dance!

It was very strange. I'm using Firefox on a laptop and I've been able to see all the other postings. Between you and me, I think Kathy is contagious. ;)

Here is the newest offering in the gallery ... and oh, how cute it is! (and so simple to insert in a post)

Kathy ,I couldn't see anything either but now I can with the morning post. Busy cooking pies, cakes and cookies today. I made pumpkin bars instead of cookies. We may eat them all before the kids get in tonight!

I think that you should go to the gallery home page. Right along the top is a row of different galleries including company galleries and occasions galleries. (These are keyword-driven galleries, which is why it's so helpful when people include keywords in their uploads ;-)).

At least, that's my guess - I went to Occasions and then chose Thanksgiving.
But I think it's capped at a 6000 limit, because for sure there are plenty of earlier Thanksgiving uploads in the overall gallery!!

hint: try Thanksgiving as a keyword search

mcschmidty 11-24-2015 08:22 AM

I never knew those galleries existed- Thanks for a challenge to find them- will definitely use that in the future. I am very visual and frequently 'look see' before I start stamping.

Remember the question was the first card! :D

Carolinakathy 11-24-2015 08:34 AM

Baby blanket

OMG I have been knitting this baby blanket and haven't been on SCS until today! And I won something!! Definitely made my day! Plus I finish the baby blanket yesterday. If I can figure out how to imbed it in a message I will....
Attachment 315399
Blanket is very heavy as I doubled the yarn. It ended up being 42" x 54" long.

Crafty Julia 11-24-2015 08:52 AM

congrats to the latest winners! We just braved the supermarket- not too crowded- and we have a bit of a cold wind coming through NW Washington.

Carolinakathy 11-24-2015 08:52 AM

So after Turkey Day, I can get back to stamping ~) Friday I can get my Christmas cards organized.

poppydarling 11-24-2015 09:02 AM

Congratulations to the latest winners! And congratulations to me, I didn't win but at least I submitted the correct answer for once :)
