Is there anyone attending that would like to carpool? I will be coming from Wilmington and will gladly pick up a person or two. Road trips are more fun with people. I promise not to sing to loud.
Going through DC is easy if you pick the right time of day. I have to go through New York City AND DC to get to my house. We usually leave at 6:30 AM or 10:30 AM or 6:30 PM (to avoid Boston traffic times.) 6:30 AM puts me in New York City at 10:00 AM and DC at 2:00 PM, makes the trip really easy! 10:30 AM puts me in New York at 2:00 PM and then I eat dinner in DC before heading south and head through there after 6:30 PM. As a former DC resident, I can tell you that we get through town faster going on 95 than 17 or 66 by far. Everytime we have tried to go another way, it just gets longer. If you have three people, the HOV lane is a great way to travel between 3:30 and 6:30 PM! I can give you more specifics though, feel free to chat with me about it.
Don't forget that the house is open for anyone to stay that would like. We are 45 minutes north of Raleigh Triangle Mall.
I would suggest that you stay closer to Henderson and then drive in to Raleigh. Wake Forest is between, and Henderson has some hotels. I will email my step daughter who has a 4 and 7 year old to see what they do there in the area for fun.
Spicy is great!
Feel free to use my kitchen if you like!
I have six beds and three air mattresses available.

Thanks.

Leaving the swap open to your choice of card ladies.
I had a last minute business trip to DC for the Army Action Family Plan Conference. I will be back Wednesday and sending all info out then. I hope that we are getting a few from the Marine Corps joining us in NC! Two from there IM'd me.

I am also getting very excited! I was up way too early too...the neighbor's dog apparently found something very interesting in my yard and decided to start barking to tell me about it! He does that quite frequently but this morning it was way earlier than normal!
I have to think about my card now.

I sent you an e-mail with Jessica's & my registrations. We will be looking through our stamps, etc to see if/what we would like to add to the auction.
We really like sweet tea so we will be bringing a couple of gallons of tea as well, if that's OK.
We are excited about coming & meeting so many of the ladies from the area. On our way home we are planning a side stop in Durham as well. Jessica has a lot of can tabs to take to the Ronald McDonald house so we will be making a side to it as well.

I'm going to need some suggestions. We (DH, DD (2 yr old) and I) will be arriving in Raleigh on Fri 2/5. We will need to find a low cost but clean motel for 2 nights, plus any suggestions for local activities for DH to keep the little one busy while we are stamping (movies, indoor playground (called Kid's Kingdom or Jumpin' Jakes up here), outdoor playground if the weather isn't too cold). Oh, and my food contribution has to be store-bought, since I won't have access to a kitchen.
I am just reading the fine details now. I guess I mean to say I need some suggestions for around Henderson, not Raleigh.
Some questions:
- Is the silent auction for selling used stamps and stamping supplies, and is that optional?
- for a potluck food item, are we only doing lunch, or is a breakfast/brunch item also ok?

Just wanted to put a bug in your ears. DD1, DGD & I will be coming to the swap. On the way home we will be going by the Ronald McDonald House RMH) in Durham to drop off soda can tops.
So here's the bug - If any of you drink canned sodas please save the can tabs and bring them with you. We will add them to what we have and take them with us. For those of you who don't know The RMH recycles these tabs to help pay for families to stay at the house. For those who can pay it costs $10 per night, for those who cannot these tabs help to meet that cost. This is so very important to families with sick or injuried children who don't live in the area. They are able to stay in Durham near their children.
Many of you don't know, but DD1 had a son who spent nearly 20 weeks of his 11 1/2 month life at Duke. We (DD1, DSIL & I) spent many of those nights at the RMH. We were so thankful it was available for us. We live 50+ miles 1 way away and we were able to be nearby. So you can see why this is important to us.
So again, if you drink canned sodas and are willing ot save the tabs & bring them we would greatly appreciate being able to pass them on to the RMH.
Thanks in advanced.

The silent auction is for items you have that you no longer need or want. I have sold a few sets that I just didn't use like I thought I would, or some supplies that maybe I was given that were things I do not really like.
As for food ... mostly thinking about lunch items, but it doesn't have to be. I eat breakfast for dinner often even.

I think I have figured out what stamp set I am using. That's as far as it has gotten.

Trust me, I am usually not the one who finishes ahead of time, but we are leaving for the Florida vacation in one week, and I need to put in an order for club, Binghamton SBS, Syracuse regionals... so I really needed to sit down and figure out what stamp set to use for what. I was feeling so blah about my stamps, so I'm glad I am getting a little pumped about them again.

I was just thinking I need to plan what I am bringing for the swap too. I need to do mine now so when it is time for me to go to our house in NC I have it all done and ready. I still may make a female birthday card, just because I could use some of those, and never seem to have many.
