Oh my goodness, Amanda must be a wreck! I'm glad her parents came in, I'm sure that makes her feel a little better. I wonder why they are waiting so long to make a decision?
all this waiting are you SURE they aren't in a military hospital?!
I think if they were at Walter Reed they would probably be getting better service. I know every time we have gone there they have been really good at checking everything and looking into everything. That is why I'm now having to go back to the drs in Feb for more blood work...pita drs! Just let me eat shrimp and we done with it!

Their having problems with the surgeon. He doesn't want to do the surgery even after the three doctors from the previous hospital transferred him their to get the surgery.
Currently in surgery....and yes Dawnmarie Amanda would love for us to do caseroles for her family. I'm taking one over this evening for them and she already knows you will have one for them for friday.
Wow...I feel stressed and it's not even my guy! I think we are going to need to have drinks on the 24th.
Thank you all for all of your prayers and well wishes.
Tracy thank you for dinner you have no idea how much it helped out tonight. It was the best chili I've ever had.
I'm at home tonight and Keith is with Evan. I haven't slept more than 2-3 hours since Sunday night so I'm really out of it. I'm off to bed and then back to the Hospital tomorrow morning. I'm not sure how much Tracy has told you all but it's been crazy. A story for another day forsure. I hope Evan will come home tomorrow but he has to move around on his own first and that's not happening yet.
Rhonda thank you for the gift bags I/they haven't opened them yet we are waiting for Evan but whatever it is THANK YOU. I got a package from Hanna Stamps I haven't opened it yet but it's here.

It's so good to hear from you Amanda! I know you must be exhausted and I'm glad you were able to come home to get some much needed sleep. I am keeping all of you in my prayers, especially Evan, I'm sure just being in the hospital, nevermind having to have surgery, must be a little scary to him. I'm so glad you stood up to that stupid doctor, what an idiot! Take care of yourself and your little sweetie and we will see you soon!

Well, if you drop Nate off here tomorrow I will think of something for you to take home to eat when you get him on your way home from the hospital. It's alway nicer to eat food others fixed.lol
Better get to bed before evil eye is here for me.
will this cold EVER end?! makes me doubly glad that even before we knew John woudl be gone we opted to NOT accept the invitation to the Inauguration....
Of course my family in upstate NY has below zero temps so I guess I shouldn;t complain...
Evan is home and doing pretty good. His meds are making him a little crazy but other than that he is much better. Thanks so much all of you for all of your help.

Amanda, I am so glad Evan is home and on the mend! Know that makes you all feel better too! You are all in my prayers!
I am currently defrosting a roast, which I plan to cook tomorrow night, then shred and make enchiladas - would you like some? I could bring a pan by on Sat.

Thanks, Kathi, but we've had a change of plans. The cardiologist didn't like what he saw in her EKG during her pre-op so yesterday she had to go to a have an echocardiogram. They didn't like the results of that, either, so today's surgery has been postponed until further testing has been completed...it would have been a long, cold drive down to Walter Reed this morning, so I don't think she's totally heartbroken that it's postponed! ;)
Amanda, glad your little guy is home, if for no other reason at least it will be easier to be there then driving back and forth to the hospital. {{{HUGS}}}

Hope everything gets cleared up for her. Keep us in the loop.
It's so bloody cold here today, I can't stand myself! My hands can't get warm. Oh well, off to take a little nap before making dinner and getting ready for the evening class.

Oh my, I hope nothing serious is going on but it's good they postponed the surgery until they're sure. Maybe when they reschedule it the weather will be a lot warmer!

I love naps! That's the bad thing about working, they won't let me take my afternoon nap like I do when I'm home! Don't they know I'd be much more productive if I were able to get my nap in?
Enjoy your little nap and I'll see you this evening!

Well, the surgery is off completely...the cardiologist said he would advise against it due to the irregular heartbeat. Her surgeon said he could still do it if she wanted by just giving her an epidural, but my mom decided it wasn't worth it...she'll go back to her regular doctor and just get that donut thingy again...she was happy with that...
All you ladies who made cards and donated them at the last swap....I wanted to let you know that Father Dave received them (the 2nd box) before Christmas but the box wasn't opened until the unit relocated the week after Christmas. I received an e-mail from him yesterday:
Dear Rhonda and Denis,
We are getting settled but it may take months. One delightful treat when I got here was opening the box from you. Those cards are really delightful and the Lindor chocolate balls are a big hit at our new "Holy Joe's Caf". The chapel makes coffee each day and provides treats, religious goods and free Home Made Cards. We even had 150 coffee mugs to give away at our grand opening! Everyone is very impressed with your cards. Please give each of the wonderful woman that made these cards a big hug from me!
Pax,
Dave
I think that says it all! Consider yourselves {{{{{{HUGGED!!}}}}}} You've brightened the day for lots of service men and women!

If there is anything we can do please let me know.

I admit defeat. I have gone two weeks without a glass of wine,. But dammit it is so cold that today.. I am opening a bottle. I promise to wait until noon.
I made out my Catalog list... Just trying to decide if the SAB freebies are worth waiting the extra 2 weeks for.... as Rhonda said, Ribbon is always good....Although I am pretty sure I will NEVER ever be able to hold a candle to Tracy's stash.....
