Oh, Kelly! I'm so glad you sort-of get a three-day weekend. We do, too. Brock doesn't have work on Monday - though he is NOT happy about that. LOL! My two guys and I are going to go do something - I'm not sure what, but it will involve a leisurely drive somewhere. ;) I'm sooooo excited!!!
Hi girls! Hey, maybe anyone could answer this, or Liz in particular. I was working on this months challenge. I cannot seem to find which version the verse below is from. I cannot find the exact same wording. Any ideas, or where I missed?! Thanks!

I love music and a "song of thanksgiving" surely pleases the Lord. Never does He speak that the songs of our hearts need to be perfectly performed to be a joyful sound to Him. So, think of some ways you can make a joyful sound to the Lord your God. The challenge this month will be to use a musical instrument image, musical score paper, musical note brads, etc. Whatever you have in your stash that is of the musical nature!

Tami, I heard from Liz and it's a NIV version of the verse - I like to use Bible Gateway as a resource site - but I have many! My bible is an old, very warn version of the KJB - a hand-me-down from my paternal grandma. A treasure!
I just thought of it when I was looking at my post to Tami - do you all write in your bibles? I don't. I just can't. But my bible is an old one, handed down from my grandma to my mom to me and its' FULL of writings, underlinings, passages an old pastor must have said because someone wrotes notes in the margins! I'm not against it - I just don't
Thoughts on this? What do you all do? Just curious
Kelly, that's a good question. I do write in my Bible... thoughts, quotes from others, etc. If I had a treasured one from my grandmother, though, I wouldn't write in it. Actually, I do have a treasured one from my grandma, but it sits on a shelf. It's not one of the ones I read/use.
I knew someone who wrote in the margin every time she heard a sermon - the name of the pastor and the date. I thought that was such a good idea... but I didn't/don't do that.
My thoughts on writing in my Bible is that it helps me to remember things about that passage, plus someday -when I'm dead and gone - my "granddaughter" will love reading what I wrote in the margin. ;)
I think that's a good plan, J - what a treasure to leave behind, sort of a legacy! That must have been my grandmother's idea when she gave it to my mom. Coincidentally, she passed away 2 years ago on Halloween .... right around the corner.
I don't know why for me, I just can't! My bible was written in by my grandma and my mom - but it just stopped with me. I don't know why and can't really explain it, but I just can't do it - lol.
Awww.... (((HUGS))) as you near the date filled with memories, Kelly. Those can be so hard.
Interesting about Halloween... my dad's mom was born on Halloween. She was gone before he and my mom met - died when he was a teenager - so I obviously never knew that grandmother, but I've heard many wonderful stories about her. I also know that my dad and his friends loved to tease her about her birthday - called her a "Witch". He adored his mom and she adored him, too....
Waving hello right back! What a morning - took all to school(s) then zipped to the dentist. My dd called to say her brother had head to toe red dots. Say what! He has had the chicken pox vaccine years ago (you can still get a case, but so mild, it's like not really) Rushed him to the peds, who sent him to the ER! Yep, we sat in triage while he got albuteral txs and his oxygen sat had to come back up, it was too low. Now he's home, resting and on steriods as well as nebulizer tx. Fun stuff. And we leave for our family vacation on Friday We are taking him to his birthday trip which was postponed from Sept - now who knows, but if he's sick, I'm not going! He needs to get better. We covet your prayers!
And ....my dd18 is off to a job interview. I'm really worried for her. She's applied countless times but as soon as they see her class schedule, they run the other way. But we've always taught our kids to use honesty first and foremost, and if she has a crazy schedule, they need to know up front. This job is in an office where she they take consideration and actually encourage college students (with crazy schedules!) to apply and the lady appears to be super sweet. I guess we'll see!
Jeanette, and Barb, sad news on your camel - I heard he was fired!! :( :( While in the ER, the nurses were taking about "that annoying camel" - how sad, I love him! That commercial ROCKS!! and how people have complained about it, citing animal cruelty or something .. anyway, they have taken it off the airwaves and he's back on the farm. or zoo. or wherever camels hang out, other than SCS and barb's house, LOL!!!!!!!
Good Morning--Happy Thursday! I have stamp class today and the theme is Snowman and Flakes Class. We made 3 of 4 different designs--should be fun. And--I will pick up my club order from earlier this month--so new toys to play with!
Ladies, I just wanted to let you know that I'm going to be missing for a week. I’m leaving in the morning to go to Chicago to lead a conference. I get back home for Sunday - but that day is typically my computer-less day due to lots of church activities. I leave again on Monday morning to go to Arkansas (Women’s Prison) and to Louisiana (Women’s Homeless Shelter) on a vision-casting trip with our state staff. If they let me out for good behavior (j/k) I’ll be back home the end of next week. I will miss all of you!
Ladies, I'm leaving for a few days and heading to Disney to celebrate our son's bday with him and some colorful characters! (and I dont mean my family, LOL!!) The car is packed and we're off ~ long awaited trip and I'm soooooo ready!
Have a blessed long weekend and I'll see you Tuesday!
Good Morning Ladies--this is a late check in for me here on SCS. I was doing some catch-up with the BRAK Committee. Here is a quick request--if anyone wants to become a BRAK Volunteer and join us in sending birthday cards to RAK members every month, we can always use new members. If you want to more information or want to join us--please send me a PM. You can join now or later or whenever you feel it is a good time for you.
It is a dreary day, so I am headed to the stamp room to get inky with some colorful paper and ink and fun stamps! Have a wonderful Friday!
Good morning, friends! Hope you are all well! Kelly and Jeanette, what will we do without you? Barb, you must make sure we're keeping our chat alive!
What's the word, Jackie? Have you found a house yet? Just curious on when the move is taking place. (By the way, after thinking it over, I think Fishers would be a good choice for you. Noblesville was quaint and cute, but it was a tough community to crack into, if you know what I mean. The whole family felt it, so I don't think it was just me!)
Went to bible study this morning, then met my oldest son at IHOP for lunch before he headed off to work.
It's a lovely day here...autumn in Pennsylvania is amazing! So many trees and hills, I am oohing and aahing at every turn. I hear cold weather is coming our way!
Jackie--when you get settled in, can you please let the RAK ladies know your new address? There were two BRAK Volunteers who sent you birthday cards and they were returned to the sender.
I hope that you had a great weekend. Today was such a nice day - enjoyed breakfast out with DH and my FIL and the pretty sunshine all day. Rare for us this time of year.
Mary Rose, I saw your blog post on the 'booing' - now I get it!!!
Perfect Barb, now I have to take a bubble bath!!! You know I love to do that and read a book on my Kindle. Aaaahhhhh, I see it in my future! LOL
Good morning, friends! How was your weekend? It was rainy, cold, and gloomy on Saturday, but sunny yesterday. Looks like the temps are dropping all week, with highs in the 40s by Thursday. Brrr!
I have too many end-of-season jobs to get done! Today I need to call the company that winterizes the sprinkler system. I also need to call chimney sweeps for a cleaning, and get some firewood ready. Our patio furniture is still outside, too. Not ready to bring it in just yet!
Has anyone started making holiday cards yet? I'm a little slow with the crafting and need to get back into gear!
