Isn't he! My mom raised Basset Hounds when I was a teenager - smelliest dogs ever, lol, but cute as all get up, always tripping on their very long ears!
I had a yummy lunch date with my daughter - we had lunch at Panera Bread, me = Autumn Squash soup and her = one of each, LOL!!
Got an email a bit ago saying I'm now a Bookworm Mom! A what? I signed up to help out where needed at my son's school and they asked for a library assistant - oh yeah! Right up my alley! But I'll have to actually work there, not be reading all the books Hee hee! Starting next week, I'm "Girl Thursday"! Finalizing our last trip to Disney as well - our son's VERY BELATED Birthday trip. We leave next week and I'm thinking of the millions of things I need to do by then and now and yikes!
Friday is the big Harvest party so I will be VERY VERY happy to see all these things out of my house and make some sense of normalcy! I have stacks of crafts and jars and boxes and this and that all over the front of the house - meh! My friend asked me "Happy Hour Friday night?" LOL!! Happy Hour to me is a trip to Dylans Candy bar, but yeah, a margarita would be nice, too!

'morning Faith-Filled Friends! (Yes, you're right, the Good is missing.... because it has been a rough one!)
Shortly after doing some morning chores, I turned on my computer and sat down with a nice warm cup of coffee! That was a BIG mistake this morning. One of the first emails I read was from Leelou - the creator of the free blog templates that so many of us use. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY CURRENT BLOG TEMPLATE!!! Well............. she made a HUGE announcement. She's changing the way she does business which means on October 19 - just over a week off!!! - the free templates will disappear and my understanding is that my blog (as well as EVERYONE else who is currently using a Leelou blog template) has to be changed to something else BEFORE then or my blog will be wonky and template-less. EEK!!!!
Yep, not a good way to start my morning!
Anyone know where I can get a cheap - or totally FREE - 3-column blog template?
Good Morning Ladies--well, good and bad. I too got that email about my blog template and will work on that after I get an answer to my email to the company. I like the current template I have so I am asking if I can pay the new charge for it and keep it. Will wait somewhat patiently....................................... That is the bad part of good morning.
The guys are here to repair our deck/porch. Even though our house is less than 20 years old, the original owners built things in a strange way-read into that--cheap and not the right way. So--some of the support posts and headers are being replaced by the company who has done lots of work here the last couple of years--skylights, new garage and greenhouse, patio doors and new window, new ceiling and carpet in basement, etc. Yes--we have made some upgrades! That is Good!
I'm sorry girls that you have blog issues! I can offer no help, sadly as I'm quite clueless! I don't use Leelou ... who am I kidding, I barely even blog! I do pray it's all worked out!
I got an email yesterday saying I'm a brand new BookWorm Mom! That means 2 days a week, I'll be running the library at my son's school. Can we say over the moon excited! You know I love me some books! Just being around them is my happy place! I always said if I were rich and famous, I'd have tiny little book nooks tucked into places you'd least expect - small quaint little towns, just off the beaten paths, maybe even a small cafe with tables outside for people watching, books, cups of tea! bliss!! One day - says my Bucket List!
Sadly, I would like to ask for prayer for the choral students We got word yesterday that our application to perfrom at the Candlelight procession was not accepted (not rejected, just dates were not available) and the kids are devastated. We were not only going to perform, but the kids were going to 'stay and play' at Disney and now we're not ... they are so heartbroken, to say the least. I know they could use some comforting prayers.
tomorrow is the big party at ds's class where I've been living for the past weeks, lol. I will be happy to have some sense of normalcy back! I haven't exercised in 3 weeks. I stare at crafts and paint and artwork and could puffy paint a name in my sleep!
PLEASE KEEP CHOSING A MONTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i really REALLY need you to pick, Id' rather not assign. Just take a month - any month, LOL! :p ;)

Kelly, I LOVE libraries, too! I am now a presenter for the Traveling Art Gallery at my son's school. I'll be showcasing a Matisse print one month, and a Monet another month. Should be fun!
Sorry about your blog troubles, ladies! Two free sites that offer blog templates are The Cutest Blog on the Block and Shabby Blogs. Check them out! I've been keeping my blog template the same for a while. May need to mix it up again soon.
Went out to lunch with the neighborhood ladies today (The Briarwood Bunch...LOL!). Always love time spent with women! Such fun!
Tomorrow we're heading to Michigan for a nephew's wedding. Should be fun to spend the weekend with family.
We have just had a marvelous autumn...ideal temps, just enough rain and sunshine, and leaves that are turning ever so slowly. I have to agree with Anne of Green Gables:

Mary Rose... thank you! I've checked out both of those sites several times today. Even tried downloading a template or two or more from them. Nothing is working. I can't get anything to download for me. It has not been the best day in my life. ;)

I spent 30 minutes or so at the HS today hearing how sad the kids were, but they are going to bounce back. We'll take our kids on a family trip this month to make up for their lack of trip but honestly, having one less thing in December, sad as this let down was, is a blessing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm off to my daughter's NHS Induction ceremony - she's getting dolled up while I gather up everyone else and finish baking 3 dozen homemade sugar cookies for tomorrow! They really should NOT make cookie dough so tempting

That is so frustrating! Maybe you need to borrow a ten year old. (My little guy had to help me with a computer problem just the other week! LOL!) Are you using Blogger? They do have a few default templates that are not too bad. I'm using one now, actually. Maybe you can just use a banner instead of the full background template?
I wish I knew more about web design...I have grand ideas that never come to fruition because of my limited tech skills.
Jeanette, I just remembered something else. Have you gone into the layout and removed all of the old code before uploading the new code? That's the only way it will work for me. I have to go into every spot where there is HTML code, delete it, and then go back and insert the new code. Give that a try!
Kelly, you're absolutely right. It is not as big of a deal as I've been making it today. LOL! In my case, I think the 3-columns is a need. My blog was way too busy and overwhelming to me to look at it back when I had a 2 column.... so it wasn't fun. KWIM? Soooooooooooo about an hour ago, I sent an email to Leelou and am in the process of trying to purchase one of her premade blogs. It won't be the same one I have - she's not doing it as one of her premade styles, but it will be 3 columns and it will have the features I need. Wish me luck!
I can't get the new code to copy which is the very first step.
Before I could get new code to copy, I had to delete old code. I could not add new code until the old code was deleted. Does that make sense? So on blogger Layout, wherever there was a little sidebar that side HTML, I had to click on that and delete the code from that box. Then when they were all deleted, I could copy new code and paste it into each one of those boxes again.
Oh I totally get it! I just thought you HAD to have it - like required? If that makes sense? I love it, too! Prefer it, just couldn't get it right and as many times as I tried to get it right, could not ...... and it just wasn't worth the hassle :( I'm sure you will get it just as you need it to be!
Such upsetting news about some of your blogs - makes me think that mine should get refreshed since I've had the same template since beginning the thing. Oh well, it's just not a high priority for me right now. I sure hope that you gals get it solved painlessly.

I hope everyone is doing well! I'm taking a long needed break to chill this 3 day weekend (Monday my son doesn't have school but the girls do) I need to catch up on crafting, blogging, and basically a non-school life! :cool:
