Jean, you are a nut.....or should I say SPUD! That is so funny. Love all your puns!

SCS was wonky for me too...still sort of is but we are having BAD thunder and lightening. Thought it was my puter.

Okay, I still have to find a poem...

Here's my card, Mel

I was inspired by e.e. cummings. I remember this poem from high school and it made an impression on me. I guess this is a look into my darker side!

I was inspired by Emily Dickinson. Thanks for the fun challenge Melinda.

I have a question about the keyword. Some of us are using AUGVSNMINIC and others are using AUG08VSNMINIC. Does it matter which one we use?

morgainegeiser 05-30-2008 07:17 PM

It is raining buckets here, so my inspiration for my card was the poem by Emily Dickinson:

Like Rain it sounded till it curved by Emily Dickinson

Like Rain it sounded till it curved
And then I new 'twas Wind --
It walked as wet as any Wave
But swept as dry as sand --
When it had pushed itself away
To some remotest Plain
A coming as of Hosts was heard
It filled the Wells, it pleased the Pools
It warbled in the Road --
It pulled the spigot from the Hills
And let the Floods abroad --
It loosened acres, lifted seas
The sites of Centres stirred
Then like Elijah rode away
Upon a Wheel of Cloud.

And here is my card:

Well after working a 12 hour day and stamping for 2 of the challenges, I think I need to get some sleep and tackle this and the 4th challenge tomorrow morning. Everyone have a super night.

You should be using AUG08VSNMINIC - that way all the cards can be viewed using one keyword! Thanks for catching that.
This is also a good time to remind everyone to check your keywords to make sure you've got them right! You can edit your photo uploads to change the keyword if you need to. Thanks everyone!

Jen_B 05-30-2008 08:39 PM

At least I finally figured out why my card wasn't showing up in the gallery with everyone elses! I copied the keyword from the front and didn't notice the 08 wasn't in there!

I was inspired by Carl Sandburg's Fog.

Just a note to all the happy VSN players in this challenge . . . Please make sure you use the key word "AUG08VSNMINIC" when you post your challenge card, or if you already posted and used a different key word, you can go in and edit it.

We need the year in the key word because there have been a few years now of VSN challenges and this helps keep them all in the right gallery. Sorry I didn't notice that sooner!

peggysue 05-30-2008 09:05 PM

Oh, and if I read it more carefully I would have noticed Michelle already posted that helpful information. :)

It has been a long week . . . kindergarten plays and final closing programs, proms, wisdom tooth operations, DH flying out of town . . . my brain feels fuzzy!

resqbarbie 05-31-2008 05:08 AM

you have done an OUTSTANDING job girlie...no worries!

mandella17 05-31-2008 11:14 AM

My all-time favorite poem is Robert Louis Stevenson's "My Shadow." I *had* to use that poem! Here is my take on the poem...

I have the poem 'Warning -- When I Am an Old Woman I Shall Wear Purple' framed and hanging in my office. Part of my favorite line is 'I shall . . . learn to spit.' I just love it! Here's my card, a tribute to that poem -- http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...32752?cat=8365

Ladies your cards are just fantastic. I am constantly amazed at all the talent out there and how we can take the same idea and all come up with different results. TFS.
