AUG08VSNMINIC -- Anne's Inspiration

3 Attachment(s)
Challenge Title: Anne's Inspiration
Book Tittle: Before Green Gables
VSN Code: AUG08VSNMINIC
Date and Time: Friday, May 30 9:00 P.M. CST

I recently read (and highly recommend) a book called Before Green Gables. The book is about Anne Shirley's life before she went to live with Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert. The book talks about Anne's developmental years and decribes in great detail how she fell in love with words, partially attributed to the poem The Lady of the Lake by Sir Walter Scott.

So...my challenge to you is to make a card inspired by your favorite poem. The only condition is that you must add at least part of your poem to your card discription. It can include how you arrived at your inspiration, but that is not required.

Have fun!!

Cards for this challenge can be found HERE.

*** ALL VSN MINI CREATIONS FOR MAY MUST BE UPLOADED BY JUNE 13***

Uploading Instructions:
*Please remember to put in the correct keyword when uploading your image. If you are using additional keywords, you must separate them with a comma. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos.
*It is also highly recommended that you post a link to your creation in the chat thread, in case the gallery is being testy.

What are the psalms, Song of Solomon or Isaiah if not poetic?

I searched and searched for a poem that would bring an idea, and now I think I have one! Hope to get the card done tonight, but if not, this weekend for sure. Great challenge, Mel!

It's okay, I had the gin and the vodka, and the rum, but if you're going to be that way, go read in a corner by yourself! :D

Huh? I mean, huh? Isn't that flattering! Peeling potatoes over playing with us. I feel so mashed, in fact I'm a little boiled, very close to getting fried!

javagirl984 05-30-2008 06:20 PM

Good Question

Theresa, I am glad you asked. I was just thinking that I don't really get into poetry, but can easily find something from the Bible. Now what to create??? I think I'll work on challenge B and then come back to this one.

Are we having some french fries with this challenge. I'm hungry. Missed dinner tonight. Or some yummy mashed potatoes with cheese. Mmmmm! I better stop thinking of food and start stamping!!!

Or think of a poem about potatoes . . . could provide just the inspiration you need!

Don't forget Desiderata and the Psalms--beautiful words--and what's the one about to everything there is a season--there's a lot to choose from.

True, there's Ecclesiastes too.

peggysue 05-30-2008 06:26 PM

Do you remember those commercials? "Slices, dices and makes thousands of julienned fries!" I think Mel might need one of those, then she'd be back here much quicker.

naturecoastcrafter 05-30-2008 06:31 PM

I have a quote my husband always uses about those machines--but this is polite company and he always gets a jab in the ribs when he uses it.

My favorite poem:

In Flanders Fields by John McCrae

Robyn O 05-30-2008 06:45 PM

I was able to pull this one together.
My all time favorite poem is Footprints in the Sand. It reminds me a lot of my life and makes me thankful HE has been there to help me through some tough times.
