Challenge Title: Anne's Inspiration
Book Tittle: Before Green Gables VSN Code: AUG08VSNMINIC Date and Time: Friday, May 30 9:00 P.M. CST I recently read (and highly recommend) a book called Before Green Gables. The book is about Anne Shirley's life before she went to live with Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert. The book talks about Anne's developmental years and decribes in great detail how she fell in love with words, partially attributed to the poem The Lady of the Lake by Sir Walter Scott. So...my challenge to you is to make a card inspired by your favorite poem. The only condition is that you must add at least part of your poem to your card discription. It can include how you arrived at your inspiration, but that is not required. Have fun!! Cards for this challenge can be found HERE. *** ALL VSN MINI CREATIONS FOR MAY MUST BE UPLOADED BY JUNE 13*** Uploading Instructions: *Please remember to put in the correct keyword when uploading your image. If you are using additional keywords, you must separate them with a comma. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos. *It is also highly recommended that you post a link to your creation in the chat thread, in case the gallery is being testy. I hate being late to a party. But someone locked the door and I couldn't get in (translate SCS wasn't there for me!) Sounds like fun, Mel.
|
|
I searched and searched for a poem that would bring an idea, and now I think I have one! Hope to get the card done tonight, but if not, this weekend for sure. Great challenge, Mel!

Do you remember those commercials? "Slices, dices and makes thousands of julienned fries!" I think Mel might need one of those, then she'd be back here much quicker.
|
I have a quote my husband always uses about those machines--but this is polite company and he always gets a jab in the ribs when he uses it.

I was able to pull this one together.
My all time favorite poem is Footprints in the Sand. It reminds me a lot of my life and makes me thankful HE has been there to help me through some tough times. FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND |

I was inspired by e.e. cummings. I remember this poem from high school and it made an impression on me. I guess this is a look into my darker side!

I have a question about the keyword. Some of us are using AUGVSNMINIC and others are using AUG08VSNMINIC. Does it matter which one we use?

It is raining buckets here, so my inspiration for my card was the poem by Emily Dickinson:
Like Rain it sounded till it curved by Emily Dickinson Like Rain it sounded till it curved And then I new 'twas Wind -- It walked as wet as any Wave But swept as dry as sand -- When it had pushed itself away To some remotest Plain A coming as of Hosts was heard It filled the Wells, it pleased the Pools It warbled in the Road -- It pulled the spigot from the Hills And let the Floods abroad -- It loosened acres, lifted seas The sites of Centres stirred Then like Elijah rode away Upon a Wheel of Cloud. And here is my card: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...&ppuser=141074 |
Ohhh............just beautiful.....so many lovely poems!!! I'll be thinking on which one I want to use!! :)
|
Well after working a 12 hour day and stamping for 2 of the challenges, I think I need to get some sleep and tackle this and the 4th challenge tomorrow morning. Everyone have a super night.
