Ah, Lynn, what a great sighting. Was he on a trail near the city, or did he go further away? Great that he got a photo. Even in the country, we rarely see deer. The one time we did, I did not have my cell phone with me to take a picture.

Great photo, Lynn! I am really still in the city limits, but there are deer around here. Others have seen them. I have seen foxes, and other critters on our rail to trail.
It is like being in the country there. Rough little hills and gullies. Lots of untamed nature. I was there for my grandson's first birthday that May, and we walked through the woods. Thousands of white trilliums blooming.

Deer are on the move, looking for the first tastes of spring.
We normally have 3-4 that come through. One I've named Grace. She is the most beautiful doe. Really tall.. over 3' to her back and a lovely long neck. She'll stand at the fence in the back yard and listen while I talk to her.
This morning, she came through with 2 young ones and we added another one to the spread - so 6 paid us a visit this morning. One of Grace's youngin's is such a slow poke. He/ she took their good sweet time traveling through the yard. Grace had to stop seveal times to see if he was coming. too cute.

Had to laugh at DS2 the other day. He said he hit a fart squirrel on his way to work! I saw the skunk in the middle of the road layer and said to DH....I sure hope DS2 didn't hit that! Laughed later when he told us.

Nothing exciting here to report. Bob did scrape his leg again while he was at work. I swear that left shin is never going to heal completely.
Cold again today then maybe a slight warm up as the week progresses. I really want to get the garden beds ready and start setting up the seed trays. We never got the wood burner set up in the greenhouse so I'm needing to way for slightly warmer temps in there. In the mean time, I could be filling in the new beds we built last year. Just need the temps to be warm enough to be outside comfortably... as in hands staying warm without gloves. I really dislike cold!
Lynn, do be careful.
Kathy, keep us posted on the eye issue.
Jan, cute story about the car wash. I do love that your son worries.
Sharon, I love that you have deer. So sad that the cities just keep building and encrouching on their lands. Bypass', strip malls, apartment complexes... I wonder what I need to do to turn our land into a preserve so they're protected when I'm gone.

I'm back. Lynn, I posted photos of our recent trip. If anyone is interested you can find them Here
It's warm again today and for the rest of this week. Cranking the aircon up. Over this heat. I did post my trip blog on FB. Lynn, hope you managed to get Grumpy to help you with that so I can add you to my private travel blog. It's really for family and friends and myself (so I can remember things lol).
Happy day everyone

Uugghh only 20c in here this morning big change from the 25c 2 days ago. The building heating system cannot keep up with the changing outdoor temperature. Not sleeping great since my fall. I am healing well but it still hurts when I move weird. Grumpy was over on Sunday and I was quite out of it. We did manage to have a pasta dinner plus make minestrone soup. I directed and grumpy kept telling me to sit down! We didn't manage to get Facebook set up for me yet. Hoping he will be over again on Thursday. He won't have a long weekend for Family day unfortunately. Only one more week on this yucky med.
Jayne, your card arrived in yesterday's mail, which I just picked. Thank you so much. I had to laugh, as it featured a cup of coffee, and I have just been cutting out teacups for our nursing home residents for this week's cards.
I love you travel photos and story on fb.
i hope y'all had a great valentine's day. I'm not much of a romantic, so it was uneventful for me.

Hi Ina glad my card arrived. They are starting to filter through. Thanks for your kind comments on my FB page.
Lynn, take it easy after your fall.
waving to you all…I’m off to the hairdressers

Morning…how is everyone? Not seen Jan chatting for a few days. She’s either binge watching shows now she’s got her fast internet, etc, having fun at the marina, crafting or taking time out. We all need the latter sometimes. I hope it’s one of these and not something else and that her and Steve are ok.
Time for me to get off…ciao ciao

I am playing Challenge cardmaking, and hopefully, doing some catching up from really old to fairly new. This is a February birthday card for a dear friend & cardmaking buddy!
I am posted a "Catch-up Challenge" for 2019 - The Inside Counts - 3/28/19. The challenge was to make your card inside as fun as the outside. My inside has the same framing as the outside of the card surrounding the personalized verse composed by me. Here is a link to the inside: February Birthday Happiness!
Uuuggh I was cold all day yesterday due to the wind. I dressed warm for bed and woke up sweating cause the wind had died down. I think it will be 4c today but down to -10c tonight. Crazy weather. I want to go get groceries today but I need to find out if there is ice out there due to the rain. Gone are the days when winter was winter. Now we have winter one day then spring then back to winter. Oh good news! They are doing maintenance requests again so my leaking tap has finally been fixed. I know such an exciting life I lead! Lol
I was a good girl! Didn't sleep well. My breathing stats on the tracker were low. I didn't feel right so I stayed in and asked grumpy to get food. Good call my BP was high. So I am being good and not allowed to do anything stupid! I am so very lucky my son lives close and changed his plans so he could help me.
Lynn, before I clicked on it, I thought it was a bronze medal. But now I see that this woukd make you a Canadian sweetie.
However, I still prefer the cat.

Lynn, I hope your knee is healing well. Thank goodness you have Grumpy!
Jan, I loved the car wash story about Steve! Oh my!
Ina, it sounds beautiful where you live. It reminds me of our cabin in Wisconsin, but I'm glad I'm not there in the winter. I've turned into a wimpy girl who doesn't like to be cold.
Jayne, I'm so glad you’re enjoying your Winnie. I need to find time to check out your photos.
Kathy, I hope the Dr. can help you with your eyes. That has to be scary.
Aloha, off to walk the beach!

Ina next month is Maple syrup time! Woo-hoo! I used to love taking grumpy to see his grandparents in Quebec. We would go to a family owned sugar shack. During the day there were long tables and it was a multi course meal. At night there was singing and dancing for adults. In the past few years there have actually been thefts of maple syrup!
Kelly, I don’t know what card you are asking about. I have done several techniques lately, if it was the one for the Feb. .S2S it was Split Circles, last weeks weekly Monday technique challenge.
Funny fart squirrel story, Kathy. I had never heard them called that before!
Lynn, on one of our trips to Canada, near Quebec’s City, we visited a maple syrup farm, or whatever they are called. We got to see how they made candy and got some, too. Of course they had a great gift shop! LOL
I am glad you are having fun in Maui, Gracie! Hi, Jayne, Carlene, Ina. Yes, I am missing Jan.
Lynn is having a Lynn day! I just put supper in my convection oven. The buzzer chimed but I can't open the oven! Seriously,!!! Yes it I unplugged it but the door is locked and my supper is in there! Uuugghh
OMGosh...I've missed a lot of chatter...in scanning for info on White & Black card posting, I see a lot has happened...Ina FELL! YIKES! Jayne is back and posted pics! Lynn & Kathy are talking about the poles I'm interested in....I'm in the middle of something and just wanted to ask Ina a question about the February challenge on black and & white...but I'll have to get back to catch-up and chat...a lot still going with my DH & A-Fib!
INA....on the black & white challenge for February...is it to ONLY be black & white OR predominately B&W and we could use just a pop of color??? I have a card I'm in the middle of cutting, which is predominately black & white, but I wanted to added a narrow turquoise mat layer and sheer turquoise ribbon band under the white crocheted flower with a center turquoise gem. It would still be predominately black & white, but not entirely! A lot of times when the hostess says B&W, she also says B&W ONLY or B&W w/Pop of another color. But, not sure if I can cheat or not??? If not, maybe I can re-think it and add a black sparkly gem and a white glitter paper mat layer, but the papers are looking quite pretty with the turquoise.
Thanks, muchly for the input!

Of course I can't open the door. Of course there are no fix videos. Locked is locked. If my BP wasn't still a bit high I would throw it off the balcony...uuugghh. Yup eventually I will laugh about how spring rolls broke my oven! Lol
Anyone have recommendations for a counter top convection oven for a single person?
Carlene, about the black and white challenge. The preference would be for only b&w. Hope that does not cause you any distress but it is your card after all, so you can do anything you want.

INA...LOL...I have a difficult time breaking the rules...so I think I will rethink the color.pop. I looked at my other challenges I want to use and I don't have to have another color in addition to black & white to still fit those challenges. I'm right at the stage where I can still change my mind without too much added work, thus I stopped to ask my question! Thanks Ina...appreciate your fast response! Maybe I can start up again and finish quickly...trying to stay under an hour so I can enter it into the VSN Mini as well!

Carlene, I would not worry so much about breaking rules. I see lots of seasoned stampers and long time scs members bending and breaking challenge rules. I see it especially in the CAS challenges. I see CAS cards that have 4 or 5 layers and lots of embellishments. After all, challenges are there to get our creative juices flowing.

Yes, Sharon, it was the Split Circles. I'll look it up, thanks!
What's everyone doing this weekend? I'm working on my #the100dayproject items plus the kickoff for Cricut Craftfest is this morning. I also need to make morning glory and banana nut muffins. Maybe some Keto bread. Found a recipe I'm anxious to try.
FYI.. the Fathead Pizza Dough recipe is super good!

We are really having 'weather' this week. I told you earlier about the two days that were in the 40's with lots of rain. Then Thursday night we had more than 6 inches of snow. My driveway was clean last evening. Then, the blizzard started! I don't think we got all that much new snowfall - maybe 2 inches, but the wind was fierce. It howled all night and is still going strong, as well as starting to snow again. My neighbour blew out the driveway a while ago and in a couple of spots, the snow was deeper than his blower. He was having a hard time of it, but after he finished mine, he did 2 more driveways. I am so blessed with so many kind neighbours.
Stay inside today Lynn. For those who don't know, Lynn lives about 70 miles from me, on the far side of Toronto. I live on the edge of the snowbelt. But sometimes their weather is worse than ours. With these winds, I am afraid her apartment will be buffeted pretty badly.
