Lynn, I'm just an old retired nurse, so I don't know about all the latest tests that are being done. May I ask, what is a breathing score?

Sorry I should explain. I have sleep apnea and have become allergic to my CPAP machine. I planned to do something else but then covid happened. My tracker tells me a score based upon oxygen level. Not hospital grade but it can tell me why I am so tired. I have not been feeling great and having been forgetting to track my sleep.

Yes, I am not familiar with C-pap machines. When we had patients who used them, they managed it themselves. We used the bi-pap machine in ICU.. They have a whole different set of working criteria and lots of alarms.

Sorry I messed that up. Yes I have sleep apnea. After my spinal fusion I became allergic to a bunch of things including my CPAP. THE breathing score is based upon irregular breating. The more irregular your breathing the lower the score. So if I manage to sleep on my back then my breathing is worse. Sleeping on the couch keeps me on my side. The tracker also can check my oxygen levels.

Even better: A systematic review published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine found that Nordic walking was more effective than brisk walking at lowering resting heart rate and blood pressure, and boosting aerobic capacity. Some studies in the review also found that Nordic walking raised heart rate and oxygen consumption levels as much as jogging did—but in a joint-friendly way. And a study by researchers at Stanford and the University of Florida showed that walking with poles reduced stress at the knee joint by about 30% compared to strolling without them. On top of that, 90% of your muscles are activated when you are Nordic walking.

Sounds like lack sleeps, lack of oxygen were your likely culprits...just reading it made me tired! Hope you get it all straightened out, Lynn! Sounds exhausting for sure! I have bouts of not sleeping well, waking up too many times...sure does exhaust me!

Lynn, I bought another pair of poles. These have a bit better strap and three different types of feet. Ones for ice walking, one for dirt or pavement and one for sand. And there are locks at the extenders.

On the advice of an agent, I'm spending less time with them. I'm building an author youtube channel and have found a faithful book club reader's group.

Good morning, everyone!
Sun is shining but it's bitter cold outside. 25* We were warned. That's why I got the last of my errands ran yesterday when it was 58.
I need to upload a card to my gallery then work on the blog posts I didn't do yesterday. Day seemed to pass in a blink! Hopefully, that won't happen today.

I am doing fine here. We did not get as much snow as Toronto, only about 20 cm, which is around 8 inches. We have however, had an extra 4 inches in the past two days. Last evening, a young neighbour was playing with his machinery, and plowed my driveway. This morning, I shoveled it myself. We are heading out in about 45 minutes, to check if there are any cleared areas on the lake where the boys can skate. The guy who cleaned my driveway, usually clears some patches for his kids to skate on. Beautiful sunny day, around 8 degrees C.
My grandsons are not attending school yet. They are waiting for another couple of weeks to see how everything goes. They just had their second vac. less than a week ago. The 9 year old is doing some on-line learning, but the 5 year old isn't.

I know the kids in the building have been enjoying the hill at the back of the building. My street is a mess but the bus routes are much better. I went to see my doctor as I needed meds refilled, I need to time shift. I was speaking to the nurse about being off on a tropical island! I always do that when the weather is bad. She has so much to deal with.
Anyways I need to get groceries as I will be out of it for a week.
Kathy that is what I thought you would be using the poles for. Safety first. And stay away from the chocolate till it is closer to the date! Lol
Kelly! It is you welcome back.

Yup I am still playing with my poles in the living room. I was out today and from the number of people walking on the roads then the sidewalks aren't in great shape. The parking garage is disgusting even with a great mask the car exhaust and burnt oil smell is bad. They say they put in new efficient exhaust fans but I never hear them working. A funny thing! Grumpy and I have the same hiking socks! Lol. Now for work he buys big bags of socks at Costco and wears through them. For camping and hiking he gets the good stuff. I told him I went to the Sox outlet and got good deals and yup the same as him! Lol. They had some great merino wool on sale that I picked up. I think I have turned into a babushka..I don't know the spelling. Growing up there were old European ladies that would wear their hubbies old socks with their slippers. Now I understand why!

Good morning, girls!
Sunny and blue skies with a whopping 18* F. Wood burner is getting a workout today. as it did yesterday and probably again the next couple of days. So ready to start thinking about gardening.
Today I'm dying paper for my Design Team video tomorrow. Also have a budget/ planner video due today. Yep... still trying to get in a groove. I'll get there.
I also need to change my total in my signature. 1 step forward and 3 steps back. LOL I spent money at the Live craft sale on Saturday but got some really nice toys. Also bought a couple of Happy Planner things on a VIP sale yesterday but one is an SU deductible as it goes in my SU planner for project planner.

Since I mentioned Happy Planner, I thought I'd share a shipping story with you quick before I start.
Happy Planner releases what they call Be Happy Boxes. These are 'kits' that are exclusive to the BHB. They run around $39-$49. I've never seen anything worth spending that amount on for me personally.
January 9th, they released one called Reach for the Stars... very New Age and perfect for me. I'd been on the hunt for a Walmart exclusive planner the BHB items coordinated with so I snagged this one. I even paid for expedited shipping so I'd have it for am upcomign video. Again, I never need anything fast enough to pay for the expedited shipping. FYI I did finally order the planner off Walmart and got it within 3 days - with standard shipping!
Fed Ex scan showed it scanned into the system on Monday... January 10th and I'd have it by the 12th. By Wednesday it said the 14th... On Friday it just said DELAYED no date given. I checked and it hadn't moved from the initial scan on the 10th. On the following Monday I contacted Happy Planner. They suggested giving it til Wednesday... which would be 7 days from the original ship. By the following friday they deemed the package lost and issued me a new order, deducted the extra shipping cost and overnighted my box. I got it on Friday.
Yesterday the original order arrived. Showed it scanned into their system on the 22nd!!!! I told the FedEx guy I'd love to know where that package had been sitting between the 10th and the 22nd. Of course, he had no clue... it was more rhetorical anyway. LOL
They told me to keep the extra box. They're only request being that I not resell. I now have 2 BHB for the price of one.

Oh Kelly we have all had fun stories like that. I had one where the original order showed up months later. The joys. Today a courier company I have never heard of told me off for messing up the address label. First I don't create the label, the system does. Second I have no clue what shipping method was going to be chosen. I mean I have been getting deliveries all during this pandemic and haven't had an issue. End of rant.
I changed my sleep med because I had to. This one gives me awful nightmare and doesn't let me go to sleep till 6 am! Construction started at 9am

So far we are at 33F at 10am...supposed to get to 52F today! That will be balmy compared to most days in the last few weeks AND it's supposed to ge sunny! Right now its still gray, but the "fog" seems lighter today and the gray less dense...we'll see! I do understand Seattle has had some sunny days in the last few weeks, but we're southeast and against the foothills, higher elevation, so we've had the winter marine layer with it not burning off.
Shipping orders...yes...they can be frightful...like the letter with a large check that my Mom sent. She put the wrong zip code on and it went to Long Beach, CA and just kept looping around between Long Beach and Sacramento. Now, my Mom lives north of both, and 568 miles north of Long Beach and we are 580 miles north of her...amazing that they can't read the address and state and see the zip code was incorrect. With a post office search, they located it, believe it or not, and were able to pull it out of the loop and redirect it here, but it took manual manipulation, which obviously they don't do automatically! It took 35 days to get to us! We laugh about it now...if it's late, maybe it went to Long Beach!

Yup everything is automated these days so they don't read anything. It has to manually be pulled from the system and a new label made for it. The things I learn having a postie for a son. Though I must admit my posting is great! He has corrected errors because he remembers me. I really do hate when he goes on vacation! Lol

I am playing Challenge cardmaking, and hopefully, doing some catching up. This is an end of January birthday card for a friend.
My "photo" is from an advertisement including the picture and ticket information received in the mail re: this ballet returning to our area. If I remember right, Covid interrupted its original scheduled performances. I've been saving it for a possibly "junk" mail challenge!
Here is my card: A Shen Yun Birthday Celebration!

Hi everyone. Stopping by to say hello and waving. I’m still around and back from our first trip. Recovering lol. Kelly good to see you back.
Lynn, how are you going now with your breathing? I think hubby has sleep apnea but he won’t get tested. Typical male. I didn’t get chance to say a big thank you for your beautiful card that arrived. Thank you for thinking of me.
Carlene, is your family ok now with their colds?
Gracie, not long now until your trip. Maybe we should all join you.
Hi Ina, Sharon, Jan and Kathy.
I need to read all the chat and check out the gallery. Bye for now. Keep well. I’m hoping this week is quieter and all I have on is my specialist appointment. I feel I need a holiday lol.

Hi! ina, I saw you were on Lisa Freeman's youtube live last night. Whenever your screen seems blurry you can change the videos resolution. That usually clears it up. I think her resolution was at 144 and I changed it to 480. You press the three dots in the upper right of the video. Then under quality it shows you what resolution it is. Anything under 480 is blurry for me so I change it. Once you choose quality choose advanced and then pick a higher resolution.
