The blends are the closest to Copics I could find. The nibs are similar. I like the brush nibs on both, but I prefer Blends for the opposite side nibs.
Now I'm hearing good things about the Altenew artist markers and how they compare to Copics. I think it was Jennifer McGuire who did a video about them.
I was just about to say..nope that’s our Super wonder-women in action with 24 Lol I did hear it was just 8 or something like That!!mway to go Sis Ann!,
Oh no Sis Kathy I feel ya Sis!!
Woohoo me too Sis Catherine I so can’t wait for the girls to get home too!!
Busy day here....things were going swimmingly earlier today, in the late afternoon/evening, EVERYTHING had a problem attached to it. Nothing was easy and we haven't gotten everything done because of it. DD2's ceiling fan hasn't been installed yet, we bought a double towel rack and new tp and hand towel holders and those aren't installed yet. But! We now have a working switched outlet in our bedroom so when we enter our room, we can flip the switch and something will happen! Goodness, that was a headache for poor DH to figure out. And I got the vinyl installed on DD1's closet window, yay!
Ann - you overachiever! Of course you make more cards than required, that is our Ann! I hope your DH isn't sick or something that he went back to bed and I hope you are enjoying sweet dreams.
I just got off the phone with both girls. They are both ready to come home and I'm ready to have them home...though we haven't gotten all their surprises installed yet and we are going to Bible study tomorrow night. Probably should have skipped that this week.
It is now 11:40 pm and the bad news is that DH is still up. That is not a good thing!
Good morning and happy Monday. I learned something new. Putting Peppermint essential oil and water in a mister and spraying garages, doorways and front and back porches will keep spiders away. I saw my first spider yesterday. I’m definitely trying the Peppermint trick. I hate finding those things in the house!
We had another beautiful day yesterday but it was a troubled day for DH. He once more went to the cable place to tell a customer service guy that 2 of the TVs were still not getting a signal. The guy argued with him and wanted to send a 70$ service call to our house. DH said he’s not paying a dime, it was their fault the cable is messed up. The guy got smart with him (picture a young geek talking down to a senior citizen) and DH got mad and told them to shut off the service to the three small TVs, and stomped out.
He was so upset. He worked it off on the yard for hours, raking and smoothing new topsoil over the low spots, until he exhausted himself.
I went out and cleaned out the flower boxes, and found buds on the small hydrangeas we planted last year!
Now the winter uglies in the yard are gone, and I’m ready to buy hanging and bedding flowers!
Catherine, what do you think of that curved shower bar? I love ours.
Dusty sleeps in the middle of us, and during the night has been known to stretch out sideways and take over sleep spots when one of us makes a nightly bathroom visit. Then she growls when we try to move her so we can climb back into bed!
Yes, Stitch Fix is the clothing company I tried, and totally ignored my profile and kept sending me clothes appropriate for your DDs.
Hi, Vickie! Welcome back!
Shirl, I haven’t bought craft supplies for months. I’ve been concentrating on updating this dark house with brighter curtains, throw pillows and decor. My Amazon order for this month is ready and waiting, Spring green pillows and a butterfly quilt.
Ann, you are amazing on making so many cards! I would always have at least 8 DG cards ready to go, but 24? Wow!

Catherine, sorry you guys are having all those troubles!
Troubles!! What do you get when a son leaves a ball point pen in his pocket and it goes threw the dryer? A broken dryer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yup!! Some of the pieces I found but the ink inside the pen is missing! Well turned on the dryer last night to dry a load and loud noises and crunching came from it!! Yup its done for!! Kathy where are you when I need you???
Spouse says to me "well maybe I can open it up, but not tonight, it's late"! I told him he slept all day!
So he says, ok tomorrow night I'll look at it. But then the game is on tonight for the final!
Wet laundry all over! I'm not in a good mood today!! But it is sunny out and my windows are open!
Oh, Ann! I am sorry! I don’t know how many times when DH and I were in the dry cleaning business, that pens went through the machines and ruined clothes! I don’t remember them breaking the machines! Although we had plenty of those, too! Horrible years!

Good morning! It is definitely warming up here which, I guess, is a good thing for Honey.
Kandie - let me know how the peppermint oil trick works. I have heard that before but haven't tried it though I should.
Your poor DH, how extremely annoying with the cable service. Do you have any other options so you could just get rid of them? Whatever happened to customer service?!
Hmm, Dusty sounds like she might be related to Honey. It cracks me up how much of a bed hog Honey is, except she doesn't growl. I'm not sure she even knows how.
The curved shower bar is in the front bathroom, we have glass shower doors in the master bath. I'm sure the girls will love the curved shower bar, they loved it in our other home.
Ann - how horrible! I'm so sorry about your dryer problems. Thankfully the girls and DH haven't left a pen in their pockets and run it through the wash. I think the worst thing the girls have left in their pocket was a tube of chapstick which, basically, damaged a lot of the clothes but didn't hurt the machine, thankfully. Do you have a clothesline where you could hang the clothes out since you are having a nice day weather wise?
With all the laundry you do, it is horrible to be down the dryer.
Sharon - was it another early morning for you? I hope you slept well last night!
Very quiet on here today! I haven't been home long but DH just got home so we will are attacking the jobs, trying to get everything done tonight because the girls come home tomorrow! (We decided to not go to the Bible study tonight because we want to get these things done...and don't want to stay up until 3 am to complete them!)
I would say good call, Catherine on staying home and getting done what needs to get done for the girls....
Kandie, I just bought some new product called Cosmic Shimmer Opal Polish. Color is Blue Parakeet. It will be lime on light c.s. and blue on dark cardstock apparently.
Ann, sorry about the dryer issues. What a royal pain!
Ann - I'm glad your DH has already started on the dryer. That is good news!
Shirl - that Cosmic Shimmer polish sounds gorgeous. I haven't heard of it but I love opal!
I am being a construction lady. DH wanted me to get some knowledge and experience so, with him right there to help and advise, I installed the double towel bar, the tp holder, and the hand towel holder. We have two projects left - the wall mounted cabinet over the toilet and the ceiling fan in DD2's room. It is currently 7:44 pm...we might make it! Except that the cabinet didn't come with everything needed to hang it and DH is currently looking for washers. I better go help with the search.
We got the wall cabinet installed...and decided to not install the ceiling fan until DD2 could see it and approve it in person.
Did you have a team you were rooting for Ann? I ask because a high school classmate's son is one of the Texas Tech coaches. Personally, I don't pay any attention to any of it except I have seen some of my classmate's posts on Facebook.
Hi Catherine! Awww, that was sweet that you missed me. Sure made me feel good! Happy you got the cabinet up! I'm sure your daughters will be thrilled.
We went trail riding all day Sunday. So fun, beautiful scenery. Today I went to volunteer group, Arts & Crafts and this afternoon I played Mahjongg. Hoping to make cards and do laundry tomorrow!

The bathroom looks good except that changing all those things really highlights the need to patch holes and paint in there, but I expected that. And, in reality, the vanity and cabinet should be replaced too, but that will be a while. It was fun, I don't know that I'd want to tackle it without DH right there but it was fun to be hands on with it.
We have an off road ATV, an Arctic Cat. It's a retirement toy! LOL
My DH and I do lots of work on both our homes. It's kind of fun to learn how to do that stuff. We've been working on our home/cabin for 9 years! Still not done. One thing I hate to do is painting.

Gracie, DH and I completely re-did our previous house before listing and selling it. Because we were trying to hurry, though, DH did most of the work himself. We wanted it to be a group project but it didn't work out that for the most part. However, DH also hates painting so I did almost all of the interior painting. By the time I was done, I pretty much don't like painting any more either! And the entire interior of this house needs painting too....ugh!
Thankfully, my DH doesn't mind painting and he's fast too! But he doesn't like to change colors, sticks with neutrals, but I guess I have to be Ok with that or else I have to paint.
LOL
Well, my computer is down to 2% battery, so I better go plug it in. Going to bed to read for a bit. Have a good rest of your night. Talk tomorrow!

Good morning, good morning. Only 41 out but sunny and no wind, so it looks beautiful out. DH just left to work on the latest estate sale. It will get his mind off things. His DB called yesterday to inform him of a post on Facebook from DH’s estranged granddaughter. She has been a drug addict for years, with all the accompanying bad traits of stealing and such. She posted this notice asking for money, saying she was a ‘reformed drug addict’ and blaming it all on her alcoholic father. Her father is, of course, DH’s youngest son, DS3. No mention in the post of her mother (they did the drugs together). DH was so depressed that this 30-yr-old would so blatantly declare family matters all over the Internet just to get money. Sigh. Too bad she doesn’t use her brain to get a job and do well instead of all this conniving garbage.
I feel so bad for him. He’s working with DS1 today. I’m sure the subject of this post will be discussed.
Our ND ladies lost the basketball championship by 1 point, a missed free throw at the last second and a chance to go into overtime. The city is in mourning.
Ann, how goes the dryer repair? And speaking of allergies, tree pollen is at 100% here. Look at this video!
I couldn’t believe all the pollen! No wonder we have headaches and itchy eyes!
Catherine, DH lives for his HGTV and DIY shows and can only get the DIY as a cable add-on.
THEN we got a bill yesterday from the former cable company for two months of service! DH had to call them and read to them his equipment-return date and email advising of receipt of said equipment! Hard to believe the company received the equipment but never cancelled the service. Customer service follow-up is so terrible. It sure wasn’t like that when I was in the workforce. We always had checklists to follow to take an issue from beginning to end.
Oh, don’t let me get started on that, lol!!!
Are you ready for the return of your DDs?!!!
Shirl, I have never heard of that product. At first I thought you were talking about a nail polish color and I was excited to find some. Now I’m excited to find that for crafting. I too love opal!!!
Good morning, everyone!

I just saw a video on the news of two thieves stealing a cement lion from someone’s front porch. A week later there is another video of them returning it, along with a card and a bouquet of flowers! Nice to see someone actually feeling bad for a change and returning something that was stolen.

For all of us thinking about Easter goodies, I saw this on Pinterest. There must be a chocolate candy or maybe jelly beans inside, because I don’t think the material or bead is that big. LOVE the idea!

I'm in a bit of a bad mood after texting with demo friend. She is upset, rightfully so, that stampin up is raising prices again AND they are discontinuing the trimmer! Our friend just ordered on at last class and now she won't be able to get blades! I will need blades too! And they are changing up their die cutting system. I take that to ,maybe mean their machine to cut them? I'm sending them another email! Doesn't seem like they have their customers interests in mind.
Kathy, it sure doesn’t sound like SU is considering those customers who have bought the trimmer. They should carry the replacement blades for a while yet. Very strange marketing.

I sent an email. If I wait until next class to order blades, they could be out! We are thinking of ordering ahead of time. And then I can order more if they are still available at class time.
Kandie and Kathy, as you say, there isn't a lot of good customer service any longer! So sad. It seems most companies aren't invested in their employees or their customers.
Kandie, sorry your DH has had a bad week. Dealing with cable and satellite TV companies can drive anyone insane! So annoying! Then with his granddaughter and the "poor me" victim BS. Get a job, suck it up buttercup and take responsibility for yourself.
Kathy, if I was your friend, I'd try to return the trimmer since SU is discontinuing it unless they continue carrying the blades.
Well then, I guess I spoke my piece! Hope everyone has a pleasant day!

Dryer is working as of last night! Took spouse hours to get it done! The ink portion of the pen was in the vent! Spouses hands were black trying to clean it out!
He also found a paper clip, computer screws, shirt tabs, and sand! Hated to tell him it was not sand but the backs of the rugs falling apart! So I did not say anything!
First load of laundry is in so will see how it dries in a bit!
Kandie, sorry your spouse has to deal with family that will not grow up!
Catherine, give the girls a hug for me today too!!
Hi Gracie, plug that computer in!!
Off to get to work on cleaning up spouse fixing up!!
Good morning! It is sunny and cool here. We had rain yesterday evening. I can't wait, the girls will be home this evening. If they are on schedule, they should be just pulling out on their way home. Yay! I can't wait for them to see the bathroom...that still needs holes patched and paint, but it looks so different.
Once they are home and DD2 approves the ceiling fan, we'll install that too. DH thought DD2 would help him but I realized that she might be very tired from the trip. We'll see what happens. I know Honey will be very happy to have her "mom" home again too.
Kandie - I hope the phone call to the cable company resolves that, I'm skeptical that it won't be something he'll have to call about again. My brother received a healthcare bill supposedly for his wife except it wasn't her bill, it was someone with the same name. He called UC Davis to straighten it out, supposedly resolved. Next month, he gets the bill again. Calls again. I'm not sure how many months that happened. Finally, he asked for a supervisor and, even then, had to threaten them with turning them in for violation of HIPPA before they actually got it straightened out. Crazy.
I'm so sorry for your DH with his granddaughter. That is so hard. I often see posts on FB and think, "You might be sorry later that you posted that." I suppose some are never sorry, it is just hard.
Oh my goodness, that tree pollen bomb! Wow, just wow.
Kathy - that news about SU reminds me of when I finally ordered all the color family stamp pads. I had been blessed with money for crafting and, after being assured that SU didn't change their core color families, I went ahead and ordered all of them. Before I even received them, the announcement came out that they were re-working the color families. My demo at the time, tried to spin it in a positive way for me but was able to cancel that order so that I can re-order when the re-worked color families were released.
I think everything is becoming more expensive and then, with their distribution system, that adds to the cost too. Everything is going up except for wages!
I remember when Creative Memories discontinued their trimmer and re-vamped it. I wonder what the new version will be from SU. It is frustrating though and now I'm curious about the re-vamping of their die system. If they go with something that only works with their die cut machine, I don't think that would be a good business plan for them. There are so many companies out there now and people are already complaining about how expensive SU is.
Hi Gracie! What are you up to today? I have to go to work and just wait for the hours to pass until the girls get home!
