I am having tremendous problems with SCS today. Most of the time I can't get it to load what I'm asking for, can't find the page, or that dumb little circle just spins endlessly. I can get to a few things through a "back door" by other links but can't get on directly. When I do get somewhere I usually can't navigate from there to another page successfully either. What is up?!
I finally got a look at the home page and it says nothing about any maintenance going on today, just last night. Doing stuff late at night makes sense anyway. Who would mess around with a site on a Saturday in prime surfing time? So what's up?
Wow. How about we give the new site owners a bit of a break? There are some harsh comments on this thread. :(
There were times that Daven and previous owners experienced site problems, too. Let's give the new owners a bit of the benefit of the doubt as they learn our community, etc.
We all know that there has been a move to a new server (I think) or at least preparations for a move. When Daven did that, there were hiccups, too.
Remember, it is the weekend, and the new team may not be fully staffed on the weekend. Even though this is a 24/7 site for us, it doesn't mean that the new team is here 24/7.
I saw a SCS site update on facebook. If you have a facebook account, then become a fan of SCS.
Patience, ladies. Tech teams are not miracle workers as much as we want them to be.

BUT Daven would keep us posted, this outfit doesn't! Perhaps they don't know the meaning of communication?
And if you don't do facebook, twitter and that other stuff are you suppossed to be kept in the dark as to what's going on?

That's cool. You're entitled to see it one way, me the other.
Wade's (smbiker) profile says he hasn't been online in 1 day. Perhaps he is out of town or something. I don't know who is/isn't allowed to post updates. But I'm willing to let everyone settle into their new roles on SCS.
Thanks, Lydia, for posting on this thread to communicate the hiccup problem that SCS is experiencing today. I'm sure with the server move that we'll have a few more hiccups before all is said and done.

Wade posted on the home page on March 9th that there would be temporary issues all week due to the server migration. I'm sure they don't like the hiccups any better than we do. I guess I don't understand the hostility...
I used to miss a lot of announcements about what was going on around here so I changed my bookmark to always bring me to the home page before heading to the forums. A quick glance for news takes no more than a few seconds and then I'm on my way to hours of time-sucking forum reading, lol!
Please, let's try and cut the new owners some slack.
I wasn't trying to bring down the wrath of everyone with my post. I was trying to figure out what was going on. My account opens to the home page when I can get on, and there was no post visible that day about any server problems. I can be patient when I know someone is aware and working on the problem, but nothing I saw indicated any activity. As a previous poster said, Daven kept us informed. When I finally did get an update and the access improved I did post a note to that effect, as well as a thank you.

Thanks, Betsy!
I moved Wade's post back to the top section of the home page tonight just so folks dropping in would have better chance of seeing it without scrolling before they go gallery gazing. The announcement had gotten shuffled down the list after a day or two with additional info being posted. SCS is a busy place, but it is a good idea to keep that info up top until we're all migrated. ;)
