Hi everyone,
My name is Ann. I live in NYC. I'm mostly a scrapbooker but I've been to a few SU parties and have purchased lots of stamps. I am inspired by the beautiful cards I've seen on this site and can't wait to begin stamping.
Welcome, Ann! Have you started incorporating stamping into your scrapbooking layouts, too? You can stamp your own background paper, titles, embellishments, and more!
So far I've made background paper using butterflies and a masking technique I learned at a demo. It came out really pretty. Next I think I'm going to try a floral background. This is going to be really fun.
Once you get really comfy stamping a full sheet of cardstock, you should try the "One Sheet Wonder" cards. You print a cutting pattern on the back of the cardstock, then stamp all over the front. You cut along the printed lines on the back, then add them to card bases along with some other cardstock pieces.
Here's a link to a thread with an example of what I mean:

Sharon, what prizes are you talking about? Is it one of the member companies? If so, they have their own section of the forum further down from this section.
I'm not sure where to begin. Wow this is really cool but overwhelming. I am new to this, but not new to stamping. What I really like are the cool card ideas. I was on this site last week but not as a member and I found the stampin up page. I can't find it now. Does anyone know how to get there?
Welcome, momonthego4! If you're talking about the Stampin' Up! gallery, you'd click "gallery" at the top of the screen, then partway down is the SU gallery. Here's a direct link:
Hi. I have been a member since Aug '08 but only ever searched the galleries. I started stamping at the same time and love SU. & this site was recommended to me by a SU demo. Had a visit to the Dr yesterday and was told I have high blood pressure (which explains the head spins) and I have to have complete rest 'til i go back to see him on monday. So I decided to login here and have a look around. So far I have managed to add a picture to my profile, add a signature, and found out about 'cardstock collector' (spent a bit of time trying to see if I could change that! LOL). The best bit is I have come across the buy/sell/trade forum. So i have been chasing up some SU stamp sets that aren't available here (Australia). This is a great site and I'm looking forward to discovering lots of exciting info, projects and 'stuff'.
Welcome, there is a big time difference between us. You are +9:30 hrs ahead of me.
I am in BC Canada. This is a great site for inspiration. Hope to see some of your makes,

LOL, good job on sorting all that out so soon.
I'm from Brisbane so know all about the sets not available here in Australia - especially some of the older sets before SU ever started here. The buy/sell/trade forum is very good and not just limited to SU stamps. I picked up some interesting materials there (in combination with stamps so no extra postage) that I would otherwise never have tried.
A point to be aware of - for various reasons many people won't sell outside of the USA, but there are some that do & I have had very good experiences. Just keep asking!

I only discovered this site a few weeks ago and I'm already hooked! Can someone tell me how to add my picture to my posts? I have it in my profile, but it doesn't show up when I post. Thanks.

Hi Motherload! And welcome to SCS! You need to go to your control page and you can do that by clicking on your SCS name at the top of this page: "welcome, Motherload". On the left panel is a heading "Your Control Panel" go down to "Settings and Options" click on "Edit Avatar". On this screen you have several options for selecting a picture for your avatar, the picture that appears on the left side of your posts under your username. I hope this helps.
