Me too. It actually rained on us about half-way through the parade but that didn't stop anyone from having a great time. Not to mention that delicious Chinese Food!

Oh yeah uh huh - very funny indeed!! I couldn't do 30 pages in 6 MONTHS, let alone one! Glad I could provide you with some entertainment at my expense!!

My kids are off to school tomorrow after a 7 week break! I've been spending the last week labelling every texta, pencil, pencil sharpener, school shirt & library bag that comes my way! I'm knackered!!
It's quite exciting and sad. My 10 yr old DS is going to a new school, so little Connie (she's 7) will be the big girl now at her school & she is a little shy and is getting stressed about tomorrow! Hopefully I, I mean she, won't cry in the morning!

Off to read the rest of the posts - oh and to scrap my first page for the month!!!
Take care

My goal is 12 pages and $30.00. I'm invited to a SU workshop this week, so I have to control myself.

Hey there, Thanks glad you liked it. I'm still trying to get better. Started another round of antibiotics Friday. Five days of Levaquin. I hope it's much stronger cause it's much more expensive than the other one.
$55 co-pay. Have you made any layouts for the new month? I haven't done my first one yet but, I really want to make my goal this month.

I've been stuck in my kitchen....cooking for my parents. My moms surgery is tomorrow. I told them I would cook ANYTHING they wanted for a week. Well, I was hoping it was stuff I had already cooked for me.....ummmm not even close. I"ve even got to go to the grocery store (On Superbowl sunday? HOKEY DINA")

So anyway, I've snuck away from the stove and I'm lurking here. I still havent been able to work on my challenge (THAT'S THE CHALLENGING PART) we did get the piano moved from their house yesterday and we had a little get together in the evening.

I hope you are feeling better! I'm glad you've had the weekend to get some more medicine into ya.

I did work a little while last night on learning to digi scrap--I couldn't get on this site--I almost croaked. Anyway. I'll be back later. I need to whine a little bit, but I have to run to the store first.:(

well I am a very, very, very bad girl.

So as you know, I spent 150 for SAB, instead of the promised 100 to hubby. And you all know I damaged the car, we still haven't gotten estimates yet, sometime this week, and will have to decide then whether or not to submit to insurance, but even so that will be at least $500 ...

Well here's the very very very bad part. We had a brand new Michaels open up down the street - TODAY! And I had talked hubby into letting me drop him off, since we really shouldn't drive the explorer at the moment until we get it straightened out. So I had to stop there on my way to drop off a couple of catalogs to a girlfriend. And ... ok here's the bad part. They had the cuttlebug cheaper than anyone else. Now granted, I could have waited for a 40% coupon and waited for it to be regular price at the same time, but nope, all the CB stuff was 30% off this week, and it was cheaper than anyone else had it on sale. So darnit I got it!! And you know what, I don' regret it, and I love the darn thing!!!! I couldn't have gotten it at a better time, it will make swak'king someone that much easier!!! I even just cranked out my hubby's V-Day card, what can I say I was inspired.

Ok so still being a bad girl, have I yet to complete either of my cardfronts or 6x6 swaps? Nope, I'm cranking through them, and I really need to get them in the mail tomorrow, sigh ... I will get there.

Ok carry on you scrappin' fools!

Girlfriend I feel your pain. The budgeting thing is so hard for me. I believe the only reason I haven't spent anything is simply because I've been sick. I've got to place a SU order because I'm a hobby demo and I want to stay active for as long as I can for the discount. I too bought the cuttlebug because I ran across some threads where everyone was oohing and aahing over it. I don't regret it either. I use mine for embossing mostly cause I just think that's the coolest invention- no more torturing my carpel tunnel. ;)

Ok ladies, I think there is a problem with me. I can't scrap. I go into my room and get everything out but then I sit down and I just don't feel like doing anything. What can I do to get out of this rut? I printed Jenn's sketch and hung it up in front of me, I made V day cards for my kids teachers but that's all. How am I going to meet my goal if I don't feel like doing anything? Help!!!!!

Ugg, I hate it when I get like that. Try looking at all your pictures again or one of your magazines for ideas and inspiration. Look at all your stamps. Set your egg timer for 13 minutes and scrap as fast as you can just to see if you can "beat the timer" then tell yourself,,,, just 2 more minutes and then you will be right in the middle of your project --then you won't want to stop.

Wish I could give you better advice.

I'll catch up on the chatting tonight, but I had a quick question and was hoping ya'll would have an answer. One of the pages I completed Friday still is missing the journaling b/c I don't like my handwriting and I LOVE the page. The background paper is black so the ink needs to be white. My SU black c/s won't go through the printer so I was wondering if anyone had any black 8 1/2 X 11 paper I could use or suggestions on where I can get some as I was really wanting to finish the page tonigh. Thanks...

What about using your white signo pen on black? oh wait...you don't like your handwriting? Umm, how about white rub on letters?

Well the good news you are being crafty, making V-Day cards, that takes time and inspiration. Also I understand about the rut. I have a 13 month old and have yet to scrap a single page. I know I was just plain old depressed this past year, its been tough, but I think I am getting through it. I guess first thing to do is to think positively, look forward to it, think about a set or an embelishment to go with that perfect photograph.

I know what helped me last week was Lela's mini VSBN, maybe look at those challenges and see if you get sparked. I found once I started it was hard to stop even though I had to, to be a mom. ALso I don't know if you have any of the SU Simply Scrappin Kits, but once I opened that last week to participate in the challenges, there was no stopping me, it was so easy and pretty much just puts itself together. Look at the scrap maps, and I think you will start envisioning pages.

Good Luck to you, and just keep trying, maybe re-organize your craft area a little to put the scrapping stuff to the front?

I need to do the egg timer too, for a few things, I keep reading the best way to get things put away is to set aside 10 mins each day. Someday I will practice this, and I think it's a great way to get started.

Big Hugs, I am right there with you.

Hate it when that happens.:( Do you have any scrapbooking magazines or books to look at? Sometimes I do that when I can't scrap and I keep an official scrapbooking notebook that I jot ideas down that I want to try and I mark layouts that I think I would like to scraplift. I am a hoarder and often find it hard to toss out my scrapbooking magazines. So, if you don't subscribe to any and don't want to, I'd be happy to send you some. I just can't throw them in the trash. If you don't have any for now, look through the challenges for themes and inspiration. However, there are days when we just can't scrap. I've seen very few links to layouts since February began so I don't think you're alone.;)

Ok, so moving to Illinois, wasn't such a bad thing, hubby's work is/was here, we have actually made some friends, even though our families are on both coasts. But seriously - enough with the snow. Based on the weather report of another 4-6 inches with a little ice on top, I just don't think I see myself going to work tomorrow, besides who can afford to put two cars in the shop, especially when that's all you have!!! Ok just venting. I guess the good news is I should get all these darn swaps done, and play with my cuttlebug more. That thing could become a real addiction. I just started running CS through it to have backgrounds ready. But I need to get serious on my swaps. Besides once I finish those I can add 15 to my SB total for Feb so far.

THEN .... MY SU SAB ORDER ARRIVES ON THURSDAY, well so far it hasn't been re-scheduled by UPS, and again possibly more snow days on Thursday - I can't wait to play, play, play!!

Ok time to get back to my cutie patootie!

Talking You're NOT Alone!

Hey Lanita,
You're NOT alone, I had a real struggle today to be "inspired". Not sure what happened. I had the sketch I wanted to try and the picts but I laid them all out and just ended up looking at them for the next couple of hours...ugh! I'm hoping to get it finished tonight.

I like Cassie's idea....try a SS Kit. Maybe grab a sketch from the Sketch Challenges or one that you've put in your "favorites" and some stash from your monthly kit and see if that helps. Try some cards, sometimes those are alittle easier because they're quicker?

Jenn has a great idea too, what about the magazines?

Good Luck! It will come to you, we all have moments like that!

Thanks ladies for your inspiration! I am reorganizing again for the thousandth time. I changed things up and I think that was the problem so I am going to go back to the way I had it. I am having to work around hubby's gear but I'll live.

Take care

Odette
Awww... hugs...I'm sure u, I mean she. will do fine. I know I will be bawling if my dd ever goes off to school.

hehe pregnant or not - I always crave chinese food. I think I had it every week while pregnant, and even though at the end I was supposed to cut out the sodium, I had it that night after being sent home from the hospital to be watched, 6 hours later and the water broke - see it does work

LOL!!! Budgets are for the weak minded anyway right?!?! ;) but really, who could resist that kind of sale?! So glad u r enjoying it.

Hey ladies, I have a question. When we upload Jenns sketch, is there a certain keyword we are supposed to use or does it matter?

hmmm....I'd like to have it in the Feb Gallery because I really enjoyed just going there in Jan to look at all the inspiration, however, it would be fun to have a sketch gallery. How about SBC08FebS1? Ideas? Thoughts?

Default Your opinion???

I didn't really set a money goal for my scrapping for February, I just said I wanted to use what I already have in my stash (which could easily keep me scrapping for the next several months) but I do get the monthly kit from Scraproom so I have to account for that...I think it's around $32.00 with postage. Do I have to include postage? Also, I am absolutely hooked on those colorburst swaps on this site. I just finished shopping for swap number 3 and that is between 20 and 25 dollares...does it count if its not for you?
Appears I could be at about $55 dollars on February 3 or maybe, if you tell me what I want to hear I am only at 22.00.
