Here's a page I did for this week's variety challenge to keep it simple and scrap a page of a dad (my son.) Not sure if it qualifies as simple, but I really only used papers, brackets, a sign and some screwheads, plus title and journaling:

52 Week Challenge #18 - 2010
Good Afternoon Ladies...
I just wanted to try and post this Week's 52 Week/Thursday Challenge...
This month we have been focusing on the things that come NATURALLY, like: Birds, Pillow Fights, and this week DADS!!!!
Yesterday Donna (sapphire1968 ) was the guest host for the Variety Challenge (SBVC125) and great minds must think a like because her challenge was much the same as mine. SO... I was Naturally thinking of course, that maybe we could combine the challenges into one and give lots of support to Donna. With an added bonus... my challenge to you is to add a list about the Dad you scrap. For example: Likes, Dislikes, favorites... etc!
Here is Donna's Challenge: (SBVC125) "Hello scrappers. I'm Donna and I will be hosting this weeks variety challenge.
With Father's Day right around the corner, i thought it would be appropriate to brake out those pictures of dad's and get them scrapped. It can be your own dad, your DH, a grandfather, a brother, nephew or a cousin, even a close friend. Who ever it is, he should be a dad.
And since we're scrapping dad's, I thought it would be fitting to keep things simple. By this I mean limit the embellishments (ie no flowers or bling).
For my sample, i scrapped some pictures of my DH cooking up a breakfast feast for my family. I just used cardstock, a few stamps, chipboard letters for my title, a marker and some brads. Simple and took all of 30 minutes."

Good Morning....
Sad day on the Stampin' Up! home front.... One of my friends/Demo from my New England Upline (who adopted me) passed away last night of cancer. She has been sick for a short time, but this was her third round of battle with this awful stuff. She was a true warrior and it was a blessing/time for her to go. She will be dearly missed and She deserves a great big thanks for all she added to the team.

SURE.... This is the Email we received last night from the "MOM"/Demo of our upline group.
"Hello all,
Last night --at 7:30PM Eastern time, Tracy Odom passed away. Her fulminating pneumonia and metastasized cancer took her body. She is at peace now.......
A few things you need to know.
First --YOU all made [helped her] her reach her goal --About 5PM last night , she surpassed her $100,000 Milestone --YOUR responses were overwhelming. YOU all collectively made it happen.
Secondly, you should also know that Tracy DID KNOW her goal had been reached. Tracy's Mom received a phone call from someone in the Corporate Office --I think about 5:30PM --to congratulate her on her accomplishment. Tracy's Mom was very touched by this communication --but most importantly , so very grateful that so many people cared about her daughter --cared so much to call, to send cards, place orders and pray.
( I might also add that Stampin' Up! has been amazing through all this --although I am NOT surprised. This has been a concerted effort by so many people --making arrangements for Convention and having Tracy's Mom go with her, and the hotel and plane --etc and keeping on track of her sales --if you know Christy :Lundquist (Demonstrator Support)--please pass on a special "thank you" for her spearheading all of this ---she has been simply amazing.)
Caring and sharing and relationships is what we are all about--and this experience has yet again made me so very proud to be associated with such a wonderful company.
I will soon post the Riopelle/Odom's addresses --I am certain that cards would be so very much appreciated. I wish I could personally thank each and every one of you --you have been amazing ---please please know that I sincerely appreciate ALL of you ----and all you have done.
Thanks, praying for her and her family. Things like this really make you realize how precious life is and how we need to live it to the fullest. Sounds like she had no regrets. She was blessed to have such great relationships.

Very much so, Cheryl, well said! Anavon, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend!

I had a productive stampin' / scrappin' day. I got both cards and a couple scrap pages done plus the "house" stuff I needed to! Ready to rest and relax w/ DH tomorrow ;)
I tried to leave a little love in the gallery, but no matter what I did, my posts didn't take. Maybe you'll see three identical posts from me later on. Anyway, great pages ladies.

So sorry to hear about your friend, Anavon. Cheryl spoke my thoughts too. It is heartwarming to see such an outpouring of love and concern. The world needs more of the same. The stamping and crafting world holds a lot of big hearted people. I'll keep your friend, Tracy, in my prayers.

Isn't it crazy? I thought it was just me ...

....errr I guess it's Monday now, Good Morning! I'm a night owl tonight, just finishing a presentation up for work. I'll be tired tomorrow  Just wanted to take a minute and upload my pages for the Variety/Thursday Challenge. I got a couple quick ones done tonight!
Hey ladies,
soo my husbands job includes running a scout camp each summer, and this year I am here with him. But, we have satellite internet and any uploading/downloading pretty much kills reception here and everything slows waaay down. Which means I can't share anything {yet} and I can't view anything. Only on weekends when we go home for laundry/mail/etc. But this weekend I was sick so I didn't get to do anything either! sigh. I just read the whole thread and thought I would just say I've got 7 of my 12 pages done this month. Thank goodness for digi!

I did a challenge over at JessicaSprague.com last night (it really "talked" to me when I read it so I had to do it!) This will be #3 of 4 for this month. I think I started one last week so I've got to go look for it...this is the only downside to digi I've found so far (other than losing things before I hit the save button!)....
Well, I have been out of the loop lately with a lot going on. I wanted to give you a heads up on some CM news though.
I mentioned a while back that the old size pages from CM were going to be available again. There are now available to order. Also, CM is having a great sale - 40% off select items. You can read more about it on my blog.
I haven't had time to be on for almost a month but hope you're all doing well. Welcome to all the new faces, you're going to love the inspiration you get from here!
It's been a crazy end-of-school year. It was a lot of work but I finished the slide show for our Fifth Graders and it was wonderful to hear them having fun while watching it! It was a huge & awesome party that we (PTA) put on for them; we have sooooo many talented ladies. The theme was 'The Treasure of 2017' (when they are due to graduate HS) so we did all pirate decorations. We had a 'set' and the kids and volunteers had specially made t-shirts...lots and lots of fun! (I attached my dd2's class pic with the t's & set)
The following weekend we held our Bronze & Bridging Ceremonies down at the beach. The girls picked 'Aloha Juniors, Aloha Cadettes' for their theme...very cute. After the ceremony and before the party began, we gave them their gift...the album I was working on for a year...and they loved it! I tried to add the link before on SCS and it didn't work but I'm trying again. I'm not sure if you need to register (it's free) or not.
I got them for a FABULOUS price...62 page, 8 x8 hard bound book for $29.99 and FREE s&h! The quality is wonderful and it's shipped from China and only took 2 weeks. I couldn't touch that price anywhere else. It's the first time I ordered from ArtsCow and it won't be the last, I was very impressed.
Last Saturday, a friend had us over for a 12-hour crop...it was sooo much fun, we all brought food and it was a great day of scrapping with friends! We're going to do it a couple of times a year. We've suspended the weekly scrap until after my pool is finished. After that we'll meet once a week until school starts and the kiddos can swim. I still have to put my things away and figure out how many pages I completed...I talked so much it wasn't many pages ;-)
My girls are at a Girl Scout resident camp this week (hence why I have time to be on here) but I have a list about six feet tall of things that need to be done around here! I'm getting caught up enough that I think I'll be finishing some pages this afternoon...YIPPPEEEEE!
Hopefully I'll be able to keep up with the reading...now off to check out this month's gallery. Hope you all have a wonderful day!
morning all! Well I can breath( a little) my babydd made it safely to Russia. I know have to get caught up on my crafting. Good thing I have so much to do, it's gonna help keep my mind busy from worry. We are having bad weather here lot of rain etc. so once I run my few errands I'm in shut in mode. Have a HAPPY HUMP DAY!!!!!

Oh yeah, I also made this little domino mini book at the beginning of this month. I don't feel like I can count it, but I thought it was fun and others might want to see it:

52 Week Challenge #19 - 2010
(please sing to the Happy Birthday tune)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LET'S SCRAP SOME PAGES... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!
Well... Naturally speaking of course! The only, really true natural celebration in nature, (next to dieing) is Birthdays. And since mine is Saturday, I thought a Natural Birthday Theme would make a great Challenge today.
SO your challenge is to create a page or Layouts using Natural colors. (What are natural colors? "Natural Colors" are defined as any true color that occurs naturally, example: the colors that you find in a rainbow. Those are considered true and natural colors.) Also, as a bonus: I love flowers, so in honor of my birthday and all those ladies that have a "CELEBRATION OF LIFE" you can all send flowers by adding them to your page or Layouts.

An early happy birthday to you! I won't be around on Saturday (leaving for Orlando vacation - yay!), so I have to sing it early.
I made my goal for the month - 15 layouts - and I have posted several in the gallery, but you can also check out more on my blog. I'm going to try to sneak one more in today between packing for our trip. Wish me luck!;)

Thanks! And thank you for the paper info too.

Here's a paper page I just finished for Jenn's Inspiration Found challenge to use 3 different patterned papers that all include one common color palette. My color was pink:
