Can you believe this is our 3rd year of Scrappin' Goal Challenge?! We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in 2008 & 2009 and I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together in 2010! Let's keep scrappin'.
It was SO fun to see everyone's goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages in 2010! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops...
What fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends. Our scrap goal isn't all about getting pages done, it's also about enjoying the process! Please feel free to join at any time!
Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person will post what their scrapbook page goal is for February. We will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month. Along with the scrapbook page goal for February, if you'd like to play along with the "Using Stash Crew" decide what your scrapping budget will be for that month.
*In this thread, we'll track how we do for the month. Look HERE to share and track your Annual Goals. *
You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages....you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!
The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done, use more in our stash before buying new (well at least keep track) and if you want to play along w/ saving --- save $$ at the same time which becomes scrapping budget $ for next year -- or vacation money or Holiday fund! I'm SURE you will all agree that we need to go back and add in our focus on our scrapping budgets! It's a good time of the year to start as we'll all want some goals or resolutions to use more of what we have. Some of us have been using the "budget" idea since we started, others not so much. There are several ways to do this:
1. Set a $$ spending budget for the month & track your expenditures against budget set.
2. Match your scrapbook/stamping spending by putting the same amount away in savings that you spend on scrapbook/stamp stuff. This gives you extra $$ for either more scrap/stamp spending or something fun
3. Set a "Scrap to Spend" page goal. Come up with a goal to complete before you spend more $$ (for instance, "complete 25 pages before spending"
4. Do a combination or all of them!
Many times scrapping and stamping supply purchases are "impulse" buys. We want to encourage not only LOTS of Pages completed but creative, productive use of our STASH. Let's see if together we can be "CREATORS" and not just "COLLECTORS". (Thanks MP )

SCS 52 Week Thursday Goal Challenge!
This year on Thursdays you'll be invited to join us for our 52 Week Scrap Challenge. These challenges will be PERFECT whether you're working on your kids albums, 2010 Family Album, Daily Life Album or a "BOM" (Book of Me).
We have a SPECIAL Hostess for every month and each Thursday they will post a challenge that goes with their theme for the month! By the end of the year, you'll have some GREAT pages or a complete 2010 Scrapbook...OR BOTH! :mrgreen:
same goal - 10 layouts, 3 cards, 1 mini, 1 knit, 1 sewn + all that i have missed so that i'm caught up on my YTD. quite a bit to catch up from the first two months but i finally have the time to sit and scrap and craft for myself!!

I didn't do a goal for February but ended up getting bored and created 7 layouts anyway! So for March I'll put down 4 and see what happens. Still have lots of things I SHOULD be doing (iykwim?) just not as much fun as scrapping. And I'm still using stash. So far this year I've only spent $4.25 and last year I think it was under $20 for the whole year! Digi is very kind to the purse! especially with all the freebies available and the ability to change colors to match anything!
Mine is still at 4 for the month. I achieved that in February, so I think I can do it this month again. I might try to do more because April with a baby coming, I might not get much done!

I made my Feb. goal barely. I thought I was 2 over, and then when I counted it up, I was actually 1 under - WTH? Sooo - I had to work today to get the last one done.
I am going to shoot for 26 pages this month to make up for the month when my scrappin supplies will be shipping to England - woot! I hope to get up to 30 done, but I've been procrastinating lately - hehe.

Mine is still at 4 for the month. I achieved that in February, so I think I can do it this month again. I might try to do more because April with a baby coming, I might not get much done!

I did not do well with my goal for February!!! I think I was about 10 pages short so I am going to try and get those 10 pages done in March. Where does the time go??? Put me down for 10 pages and a spending goal of just the $45.00 I spend on a monthly kit.

Scrapbook goal: April 7/10 MAY /5 YTD 32
I'm going big this month with a goal of 40. I am going to a 3 day scrapping/stampin retreat and the last time I went I made 42 pages in the three days. We scrapped all night and day! Hopefully I will scrap more that I chat!!!

GOOD MORNING! It's March 1 and am starting the month off on a good foot ;-) Gonna get the kiddos to school and then to R.A.P with my two first graders. THEN I'm gonna clean my scraproom today and scrap ALL day tomorrow...that's my plan and I'm stickin' to it!
Basically my goal is to shoot for one scrapbook page and one card a week. So far I'm ahead of the game. Currently my stats are 13 pages created on a goal of 8 and 9 cards on a goal of 8. For March my goal is 5 scrapbook pages and 5 cards. These may not seem like much but I'm not including the other little altered projects that I work on throughout the month as part of my completed goal.
Congrats!!! That's going to be me in June, so I am trying to do as much as I can before then!!!
That is exactly my thoughts, because who knows how much time I will have to scrap when the baby comes!

Happy March, everyone. Maybe soon the weather fairy will realize we're nearing spring and bring some warmer, sunny weather to my friends who've been getting hit so hard with the storms and snow.
I'm new to SCS, but I would love to join this challenge if I may. I have a few questions. Do we post layouts somewhere to show that we're keeping up with our challenge goal? If not, how do we keep others apprised of our progress? Does anyone post motivational thoughts, etc. as the month progresses? Sorry for all the questions! As I said, I'm really new to this. I did a layout a day in January, and 19 layouts in February, so I am well on my way to my yearly goal of 200 layouts, but I love the accountability of having others know my goal. I'm a consultant with CTMH, and I have been neglecting my non-CTMH supplies (I have a ton from before I became a consultant!), so I really want to use some of those products. In March, I would like to scrapbook 15 layouts using old supplies, plus 5 layouts using my CTMH stuff. Thanks. Cheryl
I passed my Feb goal but will still keep my March goal low. I will be away all March break so I will not have as much time. My goal is 2 for the month.

Welcome Cheryl. Of course, you may join. We are a friendly bunch that just like to scrap. Each month we (meaning Lela - aka Lmn) starts a new thread. We post our goals for that month. If we choose we can upload our pages for all to see. It is just on the honour system - no prizes, just satisfaction in getting some pages completed.
The gallery for the month of March to upload to is: SBC10MAR. That will put all your pages into the gallery for us all to see. Also, if there is another challenge that you are wanting to upload this same page to, you put a semi-colon after SBC10MAR; and type in the other challenge link. Clear as mud, right.

I'm Hooked has already summed things up, but since I was in the middle of writing this when she posted hers, I'm including it anyway!!
I've added my responses below your questions...
I have a few questions. Do we post layouts somewhere to show that we're keeping up with our challenge goal? If not, how do we keep others apprised of our progress?
We post our layouts in the respective scrapbook gallery (12x12, 8x8, digital, etc.), making sure that we add a keyword (SBC10MAR, SBC10APR, etc.) so everyone in the goals thread can find it when they type in that keyword (makes your pages easy to locate and comment on!) (To upload a page, click on "Upload a Card" on the left side of the screen and follow the directions.) If you need more explanation, there's a lot of help in this forum: Forums at Splitcoaststampers
Does anyone post motivational thoughts, etc. as the month progresses? Lela (LMN), our fearless leader, keeps the ball rolling around here (quite impressively, too!) If you check the first 6 or 7 posts to this thread, you should be able to learn the basics of our Goals thread. There are many other hostesses who post weekly or daily challenges and also full weekend challenges. It's a great place--lots of motivated and wonderful gals on here.
There's another thread for daily full-blown chatting, but we all post links to our pages and daily thoughts and things here. If you get time, you might want to scroll thru some of the pages in last month's thread to see how things flow. As time goes by, it will all start to make sense.

Sounds like you're already off to a great start towards your yearly goal. You might want to add your yearly and monthly goal as part of your signature.That's the easiest way to help Lela to keep track.

My goal for March will stay the same...5 LO's and 23 cards (5 of which will be Christmas cards). That is one card for every weekday. Last month I did 3 digi LO's, one paper 12x12 and 10 8x8 LO's. My question is...how to 8x8 count? Is it 2 for 1? That is how I counted them, making a total of 9 LO's...so exceeded my goal! I can't post any of the paper LO's since they are pics of my Bible Drill group over the last 14 years! Better not post OTHER peoples kids!
