Hi Everyone!
Just a quick check in. I PM'd an updated address list. Kim sent me her address, so I will wait a couple of days to see if I get any more before posting another update. Trina, I need your birthday, if you want it added.
I love all your Elfie gifts!! I'm so jealous, maybe next year when I'm finished with school....
It's snowing here, not too bad though, we are going off to do some Christmas shopping, then it's home to work on cards.
Have a warm wonderful day!
Lisa- for the secret elfie gift you got on day 1- the believe thingy- what is that made with? envelopes or paper? just curious! I have to make a gift for my upline christmas party on monday... that might be a good one!

__________________ Hi, My name is Liz, and I am a SWAPaholic.. MY BLOG
I am at a friend's house warming up and just wanted to jump on and let everyone know that we are OK.
We don't have any power. It's down to about 50 in my house. My friend's power came on at 1 - she's on a main road. So, we are here warming up. My parents will go home tomorrow.
It's really bad up here. Trees still down. Roads still closed. Even the mall had no power yesterday. They said it could be several days before we get our power back and 10 - 13 across the state. I sure hope I'm not in the 10 - 13 category!
So, just wanted to let you know that other than being freezing, we are safe.
I havent' been able to read (yet) what everyone's been getting for their gifts. I can't wait to catch up and see!
For my day one gift I received an ornament of a covered wagon and a piece of chocolate in the shape of Oklahoma! How fun! I love the ornament. I have completely forgotten to open another one today - that's how crazy it is over here.

Is that one made with the coasters or big board book materials? I saw one made with top note dies (cut from book board). Wonder if I can find that again.
So if I were able to get some test tubes with cork stoppers. Would any of you be interested in some?
Looks like I can get 250 for around $55 plus s/h. That would be under 25c each. If I did my math right! lol
I want to do Amy's cool gift for Valentines.
Adding . . .
I found a thread with info on a site that has shooter test tubes 1000 for $30.
They have printing on them but it could be covered with paper, beads, glitter . . ?
My shopping didn't last long as my son informed me he had 'the shopping blues', which means, I want to go home!!!
But when we arrived home there was a SU! box and my son ran to get it and said, "Hey, wait, this isn't from the UPS Guy, it's from someone in the United States Airmail. I told him to ripe off the label and give me the box.
When I opened it it was my gift 9 through 12 elf gifts!! I am so excited that I have been able to keep this a secret, even when I saw a recipe on the newspaper that I just have to try (Neapolitan Marriage Soup), my DS loves Italian Wedding Soup and thought this one might be neat to try. I gave it to my daughter to cut out so I wouldn't see where the newspaper was from. They think I am so funny!!!
We are now going to get into our PJs (yes, at 3:21 pm) and make popcorn and hot chocolate and cuddle up on my bed and watch Shrek the Halls and maybe the Flinestone Christmas Carol (I collect different versions of the Christmas Carol). The Barbie one was surprisingly not too bad!!

I'm so behind!!!
My Holiday open house thing went well....I found six new interested ladies, and I don't think they were just being polite. They asked to be on my mailing list and want to come to my next class--I'll have to add a Friday afternoon time I think. (I had several stop by and stamp who ~were~ just being polite, but that is okay!)
Later, we went shopping and have all the Wii stuff except Endless Ocean which DH really wants for little DD.
Okay on the test tubes...glass I hope? round bottom rather than flat? Are those Peanut M&M's? Let's be sure we get the right size tubes to fit the holder template. I ~want~ the printing/white labeling portion---No way I'd cover up the label. I'd put the paper/decoration below it... I'd try to stamp a label on the label or use a red sharpie to say what's inside....or even just XO for Valentine's day! (For my friend and former boss in the microbiology lab, I'd probably even date it XO-21408 and make up a number.)
Hmmmm...think I'm excited to make some test tubes and holders?
Jen, I'm so sorrry about your bad storm and power outage!! Hugs to you and stay warm!

That sounds like fun! I watched the Polar Express snuggled up on the sofa with cocoa yesterday.
Jen, good to hear from you! Sorry about the power outage - hopefully they get you back to warm soon. Can you drain your pipes - don't want any frozen pipes if it is going to be a longgg time before they get your power back.
Size on the test tubes...if they are bigger than the ones I have I am in for some...these are really small and fit tic tacs or eyelets/brads, but no way are you getting m&m's in there.

The one in my elf gift is glass. I'll have to go check its bottom. <wink> Yes, those are peanut M&Ms!
Jen
Good luck with the power outage, I hope you are back online soon. Stay warm and enjoy the time with your boys (I know there is not alot else to do!)
Sorry the mediation got cancelled...now you have to dread it all over again!

Okay I ordered the 1000 for $30 s/h UPS $18.00. Plastic, not sure size, colored, (that could be fun - red Valentine, green St Pat's . . ) round bottom. No stopper.
I found a site with a good price on corks but so do not know the opening size. These are the tubes for shots in a bar. Hmmm, maybe I should go out so I can check the size at our local bars. haha I don't do bars.
With the way I drop stuff I wouldn't want to buy glass. I know it looks nicer but I'm a klutz with stuff this small at times. I'll post a picture when these come, if you'd like some, we'll work something out. I will be ordering corks, probably not 1000 all at once. I will wait to see if I purchase others after these arrive.
but I can always use them with kid projects. I am goign to contact my old job at the Y in January and go in a craft person.

This sounds like it was a success. If you can get 6 new people to come, whoo hoo! Think of promoting SAB to them.
I cannot seem to wrap my brain around the fact that I need Valentine samples. LOL I'm still thinking about the last few Christmas presents--still need jammies for 2 of my daughters. Still need socks for everyone (it's a tradition). If I felt better, I would make mini-albums for dh's family, but eh. LOL They're not what you'd call sentimental, although they appreciate whatever I do. The men do, anyway.
I feel like my head just is about a mile behind everybody else. Dh says now I know how he feels. :-)
I've been working on samples to send in to an upline's upline's contest. Otherwise my head wouldn't be there. I need to sit down and address Christmas cards so they go out tomorrow. I've got it's a wonderful life on TV, my all time fav. well after Charlie Brown's Christmas.
Jen - Glad to hear you are keeping warm. I really hope you get your power back soon! Luckily you have somewhere to stay though.
Erin - I hope your throat is better and your hand stopped cramping! Sounds like a wonderful afternoon with your kids! I thought about buying that Barbie movie for my DD but the last Barbie movie we got she wanted to watch it over and over and this one drove me and my DH especially crazy
Rhonda - Sounds like your open house went good! Congratulations!!
Lisa - Those book marks are beautiful!
Kim - I would be interested in a few of the test tubes.
We finished our candy at about 7:30 p.m. tonight. I am posting pictures on my blog tomorrow. I did post a picture tonight of my secret elf gifts!
I've been trying to get a 6 person/6month club going for a while now and I finally have several people interested that I think I might be able to start one in January! I'm so excited
I have to go to bed now, it is really hard to make candy for 10 hours

Me too! (Watching it and favorite Christmas movie!)
Crissy--I can't imagine making all that candy! Wow!
I just started my first club in Sept. I ended up with 5 people, and they were happy to spend $30 instead of $25. LOL I think the least one of them has spent has been about $40. Gives me a month off each catalog cycle, too, which can be nice.
The bookmarks were fun. The pink/brown ones are with Petal Pizzaz. They did turn out cute - she was really happy with them. Said next year she wants to do the Peace Banners. Got one for my class for next Oct already!
Crissy, are you sending all you SA friends a box of candy ;) All your talk about it has given me some needed inspiration to bake this week. Maybe tomorrow if it snows and we stay home.
