Hey all! I am new to SCS and was poking around and found this thread. I am from the St. Louis Metro (Belleville) and would love to get to know you all and get together and stamp. Are you taking on new friends?

Hi Tammy We are always happy to welcome new ladies to our monthly stamping group. I just peeked at your blog and just love your work. I personally will not be at our November shoebox, but I am sure any of the other ladies will welcome you with open arms. I will nudge someone to respond, if you don't hear anything shortly.
Welcome to SCS too.
Dee
My house is a wreck! I like the bookstore idea in Crestwood!
We could try to do it there when people can't find time or place to host and with family stuff going on. And if people have products to sell, we could always do a trunk sale outside! Of course it's going to get colder soon too. Just a thought!
Sandy's tea party idea sounded rather fun! I'm also good on Sunday like Heather is suggesting. Can you tell I am game for just about anything fun? Just love getting together and creating with all of you! I'll do what everyone else wants to do. If it's hard for someone to host at their house in November, we could try the Barnes & Noble in Crestwood for November.

Hi Tammy!
Welcome! We always welcome new friends! We are a group of St. Louis area stampers that found each other through this Split Coast thread. We have a great time once a month when we meet. Someone volunteers to host a swap, the host posts a theme for the month and all who want to participate, creates a card according to the theme the host suggests. Then we meet at the designated place, bring enough cut supplies for everyone coming to make your creation. You know, most of the supplies can typically fit in a shoebox--but you can bring anything you want. If you have a storage case/roller like a cropper has, that's ok too. We keep track of the count of who is coming through this thread, and the count can change as the days get closer to the day of the swap. So we all check often. The best thing to do is to subscribe to this thread, and then you can always check out what we are planning or just talking about!
You can read through the past posts in this thread and get a feel of who is who and look at our posted cards we have created when we swap.
Most of all we just have a fun time creating and talking and eating snacks!
It's a great group of stampers, and you are sure to have a great time meeting new friends and stamping together!
I see you are a certified copics person! Wow! We talk about Copics and one of our stampers sells them in her online store! I still need to learn about them!
Anyway welcome, and post a question if you have it!
Take care!

Welcome, Tammy! Please feel free to join us anytime!

I would love to be able to host a swap but I live wth my parents and we just don't have enough room. Sorry!!!
I totally understand. I have no room at my house. That is why I asked to use the hall.
I think we could try the store for November. Just to get the feel. I think Julie is wanting to have something for December.
We need to start planning. I'm like Gill, anxiosly waiting for the next meet!

I don't mind hostessing again? My problem is Saturdays - with cheerleading and stuff I don't have a Saturday to hostess. Anyone want to get together on a Sunday? I can do the 8th?
Any thoughts? I have heard about the Barnes and Noble before too. I guess we could look into how to schedule the room?
I haven't seen anything for november yet - or did I miss it? I can still host on the 8th which is a Saturday instead of Sunday if anyone is interested. I miss you guys! Hope when cheerleading is over (after Thanksgiving) I will be able to get back together with you guys!
BTW - Hi Tammy!!! Welcome to the group!!! This is a wonderful, and talented group of women. I hope to meet you soon!
Heather, If you can host in November, I would be interested in coming! Your place is fun!
What would you choose for a theme?
Can I bring a snack to help?

I would love to come and stamp on the 8th. Christmas cards are fine with me. I could bring a snack if you'd like.

I would be available too! Either theme would be great. Jo Ann
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! For the last couple of years I have been more involved with the scrapbooking, altered, and home decor stuff over stamping. I actually started out as a stamper and then got sucked into the other. Lately though I have been re-bit by the stamping bug and found myself surfing this site to see what the latest and greatest is in stamping. I am so glad to find a local group on here!
Gillian- Yes, I am Copic certified! I was lucky enough to get to go to a certification class last month in Indiana. It was wonderful! I learned so much. Now to find the time to practice it all and improve my techniques. I am always looking for a good source for pens and supplies so I would love to know the web address for the site you mentioned owned by one of the group members.

Wooooo! It looks like a few might be able to stamp on the 8th so we will go with it and see what happens. I am going to pick christmas for the theme - but if you are not yet in the mood for christmas cards then just bring something fallish? I will keep the time the same as usual 1-3 or so.
Hi Everyone! I am happy to know about this thread!
Hi Stampers!
Gillian let me know about this thread. I would love to join in some of your shoebox swaps. I would join in on the 8th, but I am already booked for something else.
I will certainly be on the lookout for any of your upcoming events and I will certainly be happy to hostess some in the future.

Hooray Susan, you found us! I saw that you are busy the 8th, but try to subscribe to this thread to keep up with what is going on!
Sorry we can't meet this month, but perhaps next month?
You'll see we are just a fun bunch of stampers that like to get together and share this fun craft! Welcome!!
I know you won't miss me Sunday. I've had my grandson all week with the swine flu and I'm not feeling very well today. My daughter just left work not feeling well, so we are going to confine ourselves.
Sorry, Heather, I'm going to miss you again. I will miss you all! Jo Ann
Till next month, stay well!

We will miss YOU, but we won't miss the not feeling well part!
Get well soon! Hope it's not really H1N1!

Hello All, Jo Witney here, hoping I'll be able to attend your next get together. Please let me know where, & when. Sorry your having to deal with the swine flu Jill. Hope you all have a great weekend. Jo
I can't commit to December, but I will to January. I will be happy to host at my house in January. Sorry I have to miss your gathering, Heather, but Bob and I will still be travelling. Have a great time all.
Remember, if you want to have it at Barnes and Noble in December, I will try to reserve the room, in Crestwood. It is such a busy month, it would be nice not to have to worry about hosting at anyones house. Just a suggestion.
Melissa, you should be all ready for a day out around the 16th of January??? I know you won't bring the baby, but pictures will have to hold us off, until his immune system is in full force hehe
Did I just see Melissa on the news? I'm sure of it. So far, so good. But I can be carrying
it, so I will miss you. Don't want anyone getting sick. Especially Mel and her boy!
Have a great time! Jo Ann
I will be hosting a Christmas Gifts Workshop again at my house this December. We will be making ornaments, candles and much more this year. I can do it on Saturday, December 12th during our normal swap time from 1-5 or Friday, December 18th from 7:00-bedtime (: . Any other dates work better?
Just to help cover some of the supplies I ask for a $10 donation.
Thanks Heather for hosting Sunday!
I will be taking pictures of the cards I made, and will post later tonight!
It was a really great fall day, just gorgeous. and I sure had a great time!
Till later!
Gillian
Oh Julie, count me in for your Christmas workshop, on December 18th. This will be great for December, and then I will be able to host January, if no one has called for it. We are in CA, but I am looking for the pics of the cards you guys made at Heathers. See ya all soon.

November Swap pics from Anyone in St Louis Wanna Stamp?
Hi all!
I thought I could upload the pics yesterday, but my doggie is walking on three legs and we can't figure out why she won't walk on the other. I was babying and doctoring her last night. I am taking her to the vet tomorrow morning. Hope it's not too serious. We can't figure out what happened to her. We didn't notice her doing anything strange to cause it. She just started tri-podding and we know somethings up. Anyway I got the cards uploaded tonight, and here they are!
Here is Jenny's. Here is Melissa's. Here is Gillian's. Here is Sandy's. Here is Heathers.
We always have a fun time, and Tracy came by Heather's on her Harley! What a great day to be out on a Harley it was so pretty for a November day!
Thanks again Heather for hosting. We had a great time as usual and the snacks were great!! Such a great group of stampers!
Thanks Gillian for posting the pics of the cards. Sounds like a great time was had by all. Tracy just came by to say hi, and didn't stamp? I guess if I had a harley, I wouldn't miss one day of stamping either.

Please add me to the list. This sound like a lot of fun! Sat. Dec 12 should be good for me!
December 12th will be the date for my Christmas Crafts Workshop at my house. For those of you who have never attended I have tables set up with paper craft projects at each station. We will be doing ornaments, candles and much more this year. I usually have it on a Friday night but everyone runs out of time/energy, so I think the Saturday will work better. We will start at 1:00 and go till we can't craft (: It will be FUN so I hope everyone can attend!

Hello Tammy :-D I am Julie and the owner of scrapbookstoreatyourdoor.com. I just checked out your Blog and your work is fantastic! I am so excited to meet you! You will love this group of ladies :-D
Julie, count me in! Do we still make a card for the rest to swap?
$10 is great! I'll bring a nibble. Are we going to make a box for Katherine?
We have never done the swap cards at my workshop due to the amount of time all the projects take to complete. We could have a swap table if that is something everyone wants to do.
I think it would be wonderful to make a box for Katherine! I even have some pretty boxes so we can choose one to send them in. Great idea :-D
So we won't have a swap since Julie has fun things for us to do.
If you Google soldier care packages, it gives a list of good things to send. Is
anyone else interested? Dee, you have her information? Let's not sed her all
of the same. I will do hygiene and puzzle books. Let us post here. Jo Ann
