Sounds like stampin/scrappin time to me - which is exactly my plans for inside while the wind is blowing outside!
I can't wait for my new crayons! I put off purchasing any of them for a long time, but i was so unhappy with any of the watercolor pencils I own that I decided to try them. Fell in love instantly!
The only thing I don't like is cleaning the blender pen tips! But I am horrible with the aqua pens, so I have little choice. The aqua pens are just too wet for me, I make a huge mess!
Since you are two hours later than me, I'm off for a few to make my first latte of the day! You have probably filled yourself with coffee already!

Cleaning the tips? I just wipe mine on my table paper until it's clear and then use a different color or put it away.
I have a question about using Versamark and ink together to stamp. I understand you're supposed to stamp the Versamark first and then the ink and then stamp. My question is this: If you are going to stamp the same image multiple times, should you clean the stamp off between the stampings or just go right back to the Versamark and ink? Hope I'm making sense. And yes, I do know they need to be embossed. TIA
My best answer to this is to purchase the craft pads, that way you don't have to double stamp every time. I just have the spots and they still work wonderfully even though I have had them about 3 years now (or whenever the SU promo was on them a few years back) I just store them upside down. THat way it's economical and I can build my collection of the larger pads when I need to or have a reason to use the same color over and over

You can also scribble a marker onto a pallette (I sometimes just use the lid of a stamp set) and then pick up the colour with the blender pen.
My pallette is a 4x6 scrap of watercolor paper that I scribble a ptach of color with my crayons and watercolor pencils. I use it with my aquapainter and regular paint brush.
If I'm using most of the colors I spritz a bit a water on the whole thing. When I'm finished I just put it away with my watercolors and it there for the next session.
The really great thing about the paper pallete is that if you blend a really great color you still have it on the paper pallete for the next use. I have 2 pallettes that I've been using for a few years. If a color needs refreshing I just scribble more color.

Sticky Cuts: are there other ways to use them besides
a) glitter
b)microbeads
c)paper/cardstock
Thank you for your ideas. I've been looking through the gallery, and these seem to be what I notice, but maybe I missed some REALLLLLLLLLLLLY cool technique. I want to get these used up.

That's what I have done with them... don't forget you can use the negative part of the sheet as a stencil, and I have even used the red liner tape peeled off a letter AS a letter on a project. And you can use all the leftover bits of sheet, insides of letters, etc, as bonus Sticky Strip in any shape you want--or cut it out on your Big Shot!

I'm looking for help with the sweet treats.
I saw somewhere (I think it was a blog) that someone had filled it with water and backed it with a window sheet, I think. I wanted to look at her idea again, but I can't find it.
Does anyone know where it is?
I was doing some light cleaning downstairs in my craft room and have decided to get rid of my old On Stage and Stampin' Success magazines. I have April 2006 through Decempber 2007 and Stampin' Success 2006 through June 2008. I will not ask anything for them except for shipping....that is if anyone is interested.
PM me and let me know your zip code so I can get a ship price for you.

What are the tricks for working with Sticky Cuts? Today I put glitter on it. Basically, I peeled off the top layer, put on the glitter. When my card was ready, I peeled the backing off and placed it on my card. It was really tricky to get it on without pieces of it folding over on itself. And once it touches the paper, it's there whether it's crooked or not. I'm not a great fan of either Sticky Cuts or glitter, but I have them and would probably like them better if I weren't such a clutz.
My two cards are in my gallery. Always Heart by vanislandwoman at Splitcoaststampers
Hi Everyone!
Do any of you happen to know where I can get those flat glass ornaments that were shown on Mark Jesson's video about decor elements? I looked at Michael's and couldn't find any.
Thanks,
Barb

Hi, Elaine! I always take the back protective cover off first. Then I carefully place the sticky where I need it (the front is still covered, so no it's not like a plastic-wrap nightmare!). After I press it on really well (it makes the protective sheet easier to remove), I remove the top protective sheet. Once it's stuck to my project, I add the beads/glitter/sand/fiber/fluff/whatever.

Thanks, Heather. I'll try it that way. I think I was trying to get several of them done up in glitter so that I would have them ready to go. Probably not a really great idea after all, since the placement is indeed a tricky thing.
I always place the adhesive 1st then add the glitter/beads after peeling off the protective top piece. I found that after adding the glitter and/or beads it really helps to cover it with a piece of scrap paper and run the brayer over it to press it in. Keeps it from "shedding" as you handle it.
I was wondering if anyone can tell me where I can find the dormant list on the stampin up website. I tried to search for it but I could only find last years and nothing current. If you could attach a link or tell me where to look I'd really appreciate it.

I trying to find someone in my area that i can get a catalog from...the gal I have contacted has emailed me once, but never returns my calls.
Would love to hear from you.
I'm so sorry that you have not had great customer service. If you go to www.stampinup.com and click "find a demonstrator" you should be able to choose! There are certainly enough of us!
Hope this helps

I'm having a workshop Sunday. What's a must for my Wish List? I'm loving all the creations with the Top Note die, but I have a Cuddlebug not the Big Shot. Would the Big Shot be worth the money to me if I already have the Cuddlebug?
the top note will work just fine in your Cuttlebug.
Most dies will work in the cuttlebug, where the finagaling comes in is if you use the XL Bigz, then you need to figure out the sandwiches or shave the sides down, so if you want to use the XL dies, then go for the Big Shot

I would ask for the Big Shot for Christmas and then you can get sell the Cuttlebug and do everything through the Big Shot... the BS takes all kinds of companies' dies. Then you're all set no matter what the company or the size of the die you have fallen in love with happens to be.

Another "Oh, very clever!" I JUST threw out my blender case and I'm getting it back out of the trash. I don't have the gray, black, etc. markers but may some day! Thanks
I just dug out my original containers for my blender pens and In Color pens, and last night attached them to the outside of my marker case. I used the tacky glue strips I don't think they will ever come off! LOL But what a great idea!
I am going to my first stamping retreat this weekend, so I was glad to have a way to keep ALL of my markers contained!
Thanks for sharing this tip. I love SU Thread! Thanks so much for starting it!

Jennifer, just wanted to be sure you knew that you could view the catalog online. I know it's not the same as holding it in your hands but at least it gives you an option til you get one.
mum2bowie's advice on using the demo locator to find someone close by is a good idea.

Have fun at your retreat!!! I've only been to one so far (awesome time!) but I'm booked on a 4 day one in March at a really nice resort in the white mtns. I can't wait! Getting all your stuff there can be a challenge for sure.
O.K. Lyssa, I missed your sneak peek of the up coming mini, soo sad! I should of cheek your site this morning before I went to work.
I'm sorry?!!??! lol
I got in trouble so I had to take it down. But apparently it is is still in the news feeds of those who have me on reader. I didn't know that when you delete a post, it doesn't delete out of people's folders when they go online. Oopsie!! :o
The biggest of the announcements is on here already anyway--clear mounts for our rubber stamps (not acrylic). But I have no clue if I can say anything about any of the other announcements, so my lips are sealed, sorry!!!

Colour Coach- do you have it and do you use it a lot? It's one of those things that I keep mis-placing. But when I have it and use it I'm always pleasantly surprised by combos that I might not have thought about. I have also used the website with all the ideas, but I'm trying to keep this thread to SU products, so I thought I'd ask you about the Colour Coach. Color Coach. My Canadian spelling comes through sometimes, ;)

I have a color coach and the poor thing is really ratty looking - I keep it in my tool drawer so I can check when I'm just not sure on a coordinating color. I don't use it on a regular basis, but when I do, I'm really glad that I have it. I too am surprised about the colors that actually do look well together - but sometimes, even if they will coordinate, I just don't like them together. If it generates a "Yew!" then I don't care what the CC says - it's not happening on my card.
I use my color coach all the time and actually hang it from a little peg on my cardstock rack. As long as I remember to put it back, it never gets misplaced. LOL
I have my color coach in the same little shoe box I keep all my scraps. I organise my scraps in envelopes according to colors (the red scraps are in a red envelope etc) and I often find myself with a card that just needs a little something extra so I reach for the scraps and the coach and find out what goes with the card.
I do not have the color wheel and I think it would be a handy item to have nearby. Someone did send me this website which is pretty cool, too! http://www.scraptitude.com/colorcombo/

I like this website because it includes the current and past In Colors.
I have a color combo machine on my blog that is super fun to play with. I tend to do a lot of monochromatic stuff, though, so I don't own a Color Wheel, believe it or not. To me it is really easy to combine colors using the Color Families as guides. But if you are just getting started, or you want to break out of a color rut, the Wheel is awesome.

Thanks for that great idea for keeping the Colour Coach with my scraps. I have them in clear bags in a box sorted according to cardstock colour and a few other categories. The Coach will fit nicely in the box.
