My demo told me to mount them by pressing firmly on the stamp to get a solid seal between the stamp and block, I've done that and haven't have a problem. Some people on SCS have said that they aren't going to add the stickers because they will cling to the blocks better if you don't. But I added the stickers to mine. I just make sure I press it firmly down all over so that it is well adhered and I haven't had one slip at all.
Both the stamp's clingy part and the block need to be clean and free from oils from fingers and the such. I haven't had any problems with them not sticking but you might try wiping them off with just a damp cloth.

Funny story about the heat gun... a few weeks ago my dh used MY Stampin' Up! heat gun to thaw out an outside water spigot (don't ask...). Okay, it was great that my craft tools have applications even a guy could love, but the darn thing stayed out in the garage forEVER, lol! I had to pull out my old Milwaukee heat gun, which, although a good quality, has an external tip that gets HOT! I'd gotten so used to my SU one that I wasn't careful and managed to burn myself on the darn thing! You better believe I marched straight out to the garage and hunted down my heat gun...
The heat guns also work great for thawing a frozen gas line on a car.
If I have it right, I think the new sets coming out in the next catalog will be offered in both clear and wood mount.
This has not been announced. It is what we are all hoping for, of course, but there's no official word on that yet, just to clarify.
I'm liking them better and better. I second what others said about pressing them down firmly and also about making sure the block is clean. It's been interesting to learn to use unmounted. Some little things like that that a wood-lover never had to think of before.
I LOVE being able to see through the block, though. Wow is that ever nice. And the blocks themselves are a delight for the hands.
I also love that I can get stamp sets I know I won't be needing that often, or will only need once, for a much cheaper price. That rocks!

My co-worker picked up her SU order this morning and we checked out all her nice new unmounted sets. They just did not seem to be sticking with the sticker attached and sticking fine without the sticker....hmmmmm

The clear-mount FAQ's on the demo website say that most new stamps in future catalogs will be offered in both. Build-A-Bear and a la carte stamps will be wood-mount only. HTH

True! I think the confusion is that it says most NEW stamps. So possibly only new designs/sets.
But if you are loving the new clear-mount option, most demos can show you to turn the traditional wood-mount stamps into clear-mount friendly versions. There's something for everyone! I'm so glad SU!'s clear-mount stamps are actual rubber that cling to the clear blocks vs the actual clear plastic stamps. Great quality that, in my opinion, just can't be beat.

ps The clear blocks are so pretty too! I feel like I have special crystals sitting on my stamping shelf.
I can't wait until I get my new cling mounted stamps. I am debating aboout the stickers. I guess they come in handy if you only markered part of the stamp and need to position it?

I am not having any problem lining things up without them. I figure I will find a different use for the stickers at some point.

My order is due to be delivered tomorrow. I am really scared to put stickers on all of them until I hear more positive things. I'm hearing that you can line them up pretty easily without the sticker on it. Dh was wicked good to me for my birthday so have a few sets coming (along with my new Big Shot!!!) I can hardly wait!

I tried trimming closely around the sticker before applying it. Now I have better cling to my blocks and still can use the stickers! It's also been recommended to press down hard on your table before you ink up, and keep your blocks very clean.
i haven't had any troubles with the clear-mount even with the stickers. yes, you have to apply a little pressure, but it's been working great! I just push it onto the block, then turn the block over and press firmly onto the table, like i'm stamping, before putting any ink on it. that seems to be enough to get it to stay on there for me anyway.

Hi, Ronni:
This thread is the best we could do. There are various reasons that there is not a specific SU presence. I hope you will join in the discussions and sharing on our thread, dedicated to what we are doing with our SU products.
I have some issues with the smaller stamps not sticking to the block. If I 'huff' first on it then it sticks. The bigger stamps do not give me any issues.
I did quite a bit of stamping last night with I Heart Hearts, including the tiny heart. Granted, the first time, it wasn't stuck, but that could be my fault. I held it a little longer, and it stuck fine through 12 cards.
On a related note: I love, love, love the feel of the blocks in my hands! I have previously stamped with other clear blocks. They were definitely not hand "friendly". I kept moving my hand, trying to get comfortable.
Stampin Up's blocks are amazing in your hands! I {Heart} these blocks!

Yay! Glad you like them. The first time I used them I had to remember to held or push on them a little bit too, but now that I know that they work just fine. And I agree- the blocks are amazing!!
I just got my order yesterday and there are several clear mount sets. I decided not to put the stickers on them at this time. I might later, I don't know. I also like the feel of the blocks, but I wish it had grid lines in them. I'm going to wait to buy any in hopes that maybe they'll end up putting lines in them later.

So how are you liking your Big Shot? I find I am using mine a ton lately. I actually just ordered several new dies for it. Tried the milk carton die...it is so cute!
I am looking for ideas for a Big Shot Class. I have sold 3 bigshots in the last 2 months and now I have been asked if I will do a class on how to use them. I use mine all the time, but for the life of me I can't think of what or how to do a class!!!! Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

I really love it! I'm making a lot of little boxes and really like the new folders. The butterfly embosslet is great too! I love the multi platform! Easy to change from one project to another. Very happy I got it.
I cleaned all my CM stamps w/stickers and the case with 70% alcohol (don't get it on the rubber) and all 8 of my sets stick with no problem. I think it maybe they don't stick because of the residue from the mfg. process. It works, really it does. I got this idea on one of the threads.

The multi platform is awesome! I got rid of my cuttlebug because I wasn't using it anymore...too much juggling the different plates. The platform definately simplifies it.

So they stick to the case after doing that? I didn't use my stickers because they wouldn't stick to the case.(Tried it on one stamp to see.)

Yep they sure do - I scoffed at the idea at first but it removes all the residue from the processing plus any oils from my hands when putting on the stickers. Even my tiny tags stick. :-D
Wait a minute: so what part are you cleaning with alcohol? Are you doing the cling mount side, where you put the sticker? Once the sticker is on, I don't see what difference it makes.
a quick tip about getting the images to stick to the case that i saw on another thread somewhere...
consider keeping the whole rectangular piece of rubber in your case. then, when you're not using a particular image, just pop it back in to where it fits.
this has been a great way for me to easily see if i have all of my set put away or if i need to look around my craft desk under paper, etc. to find any that might still be out.

After the label is applied I cleaned the label and I cleaned the inside of the case. I cleaned the sitcker because I may have lotion, oils, who know what on my hands. I cleaned the case because of the residue from the mfg. processing.

hope that helps!
great idea, too bad I already tossed my rubber. Next time I'll keep it!

You should definitely put the stickers on if you like to be sure of your placement! The stickers are designed to match the stamp underneath so you can "see through" and know where you're stamping. You can buy blocks with gridlines and use those regardless. I have some of those style blocks and the new SU stamps (with the stickers) and they work fine on them. no need to wait, you can do both! You don't have to use SU blocks at all.
I did keep the rubber sheet to put the stamps back into but didn't use the labels. But if using rubbing alcohol will help them stick them maybe I will try it with one of my sets to see if I like it better with the labels. Thank you for the info... it seems a shame to have the labels but not use them.
I have only used the labels on word stamps, not images. I figure I can tell what end is up on the images but it would be helpful to put on the words right side up. I have found that mine stick regardless of the labels or not.
