I think I am all set for the OWH event tomorrow night--got all of the raffle signs done and everything is packed--ready to go. I made around 50 M&M tubes tonight--fall colors for Thanksgiving, blue for winter themed and then red/green with a Christmas topper. I also made another 15 of the Tic-Tac mint boxes with a Thanksgiving theme. I also have 3000 envies for the cards we make and other cards that might be donated to be sent.
Sooo for December's challenge....is it 3 total items? Or... can I do one card with 3 layers, 3 buttons, AND 3 stamped images? Just checking!
Today I got cortisone shots in my heels - ouch. I celebrated by going over to my friends house and buying out her stampin up stash. She sold me an entire plastic tote of stamps and a bunch of other stuff for $112. Yay! Now...to start playing with it!
Sometimes I wish people could show more pictures of their great artworks. Make more projects that inspire people. Or maybe give some useful tips & suggestions.
Good Morning--I am off to a Copic Class at a LSS---should be fun. Then a bit of shopping and then we are all meeting at Stir Crazy for supper before we head to the Bradley Center. My car is all packed and ready to go for tonight--and I am so excited to participate!
Good morning ladies!!!. Good luck Barb!!!. let us know how it went. I'm heading to Church to practice the Christmas Program with my kids, I'll be busy this weekend but I'll try to post something and visit you all some time. I am finishing a scrap page for a challenge, that will probably be my post today or tomorrow.
Have a wonderful weekend,

Are you talking about our blogs or pictures in the gallery? If you ever want more pictures or information on something I do, just let me know.
Sometimes I think I'm pretty chatty in my posts and people are thinking "Get on with it!!!". I never know just how much to post!!

If you want any more photos of anything on my blog just let me know. I'm having such a hard time getting good photos lately. I might try making a light box and see if that helps.
What is this light box you speak of? I have so much trouble getting good photos too. I've started taking them outside, but with us finally getting snow today, my dry outdoor photo space is pretty much "closed" until April or May....darn! I need to find a better way to take good photos inside.
For the December challenge, you can have
3 layers
3 images (or image with three things on it)
3 embellishments
3 different colors on your card
etc.
You can have more than 3 things on your card but each item has to be in groups of 3.
Thanks Tracie, that was a great question
Yay! Thanks for clarifying!

Did you do the Winter Wonderland VSN challenges? I got a few done today by doing those challenges. They're all in my gallery.
No I didn't but that's a GREAT Idea! I planned to play VSN Friday night but I got home, sat down on the couch and fell asleep, LOL! It was a very busy week at work and I guess I needed the rest. I was disappointed I missed it.
I found in the Resources how to make Fan Folded Flowers (rosettes) and I'm going to do that today as I've been wanting to know how and I finally figured out what they were called.

Good Morning Ladies--hope your Sunday morning is good.
Yesterday was a great day--though kind of busy, just like I like it! The card class in the morning was nice--it is always good to get a new tip or two from someone in using Copics! Did some shopping at the LSS and then headed to the big city. A stop and Mike's and Joann's and my favorite place--Creative Pals, the home of Whipper Snapper Designs. Chatted with Kathy for a bit and saw all of their newest stamps and some awesome samples. Then, I went to the mall for a return and thought I might do some shopping, but it was way too crowded, so I found a place to watch some football.
The ladies who attended the OWH event and I all met for supper at Stir Crazy--it is know as a fresh Asian grill and they are in the midwest and the south. 7 of us had the market bar where you fill up your bowl of veges and they then grill it in a wok, along with your choice of chicken/shrimp/steak, etc. It is sooooooooo good and I have lunch for later!
We then headed to the Admirals game and it was a blast. We had 12 us making cards as well as having the table to sell items. Between the table, donations and our own raffle, we made over $300 to send to OWH to help with shipping. We all have lots of card kits left to make, but will maybe have a get together to work on them in the future. We hope to do it again next year and might even try to do another night at the Admirals later this season. My friend Laurie put a ton of time and effort into this and was on the Jumbotron getting interviewed as well as later in the game, was recognized as a season ticket holder, promoting the Admirals and setting up the OWH event--they placed a cool medal over her head! So, all in all it was a great night.
I am going to the Jelly Belly Factory in Kenosha today as Longaberger is there with a make a basket event. Then, I am picking up roomie from the airport. THEN, finally some time to unwind tonight.................................
Barb, you deserve a long and peaceful NAP!!!. I'm glad that everything went so well and that you had so much fun. Have a rest. Talk to you all tomorrow!!!
I spent the day installing a web cam in my house to monitor my home...someone's got to keep an eye on all my crafting supplies - LOL! What a pain in the neck. It took me about 4 hours!!! Then me and the kids went for a bike ride. Me and the hubby went for a walk. Then I cam home and updated my blog. Busy day here - if I'm lucky I'll close this up and do some crafting now while the night is still young!

Barb, you were one busy-busy-busy woman this weekend! Sounds like your event was very successful.
It's funny you mention Longaberger as they are my customer. Yes, I've actually been to the "basket" although I usually go to the Distribution Center to see them. Did you know that they are opening retail stores in Outlet Malls? You may want to check out if one is open by you yet. ;)
Well, I didn't get more Christmas Cards done today but I did get 2 cards done and 2 scrap pages. The Mojo Monday card you'll see on my blog took a long time because the "Owl punches" were gifted to me in a baggie so I had to sort through the baggie for parts. I love the way it came out and it's for friend so it was worth it. I might just have to get my own Owl punch, LOL!
I'm so excited because I did find the "perfect" card to CASE for our Dec Blog Hop Challenge! Don't ya just love when something is just right! Off to check out all the latest
Have a good week! I have Execs flying in this week so probably no crafty time until Thursday unless tomorrow night I get a few minutes to finish what's on my desk....

I had a super productive weekend!! I did the VSN challenges yesterday and then finished off a couple gifts for a swap I'm in. Plus, got the grocery shopping done and shared pregnancy cravings with a friend. I say this because wanted to go for dessert, but we met outside a pizza place and that resulted in her craving pizza (she's about six weeks behind me with her second). So, I satisfied my cake craving and she indulger her pizza craving over a couple of Shirley Temples. It was great!!
Then, today I was working on more cards for a box I'm trying to get done. Even got some challenges in along the way! Only three more cards until the box is done, but I'm crafted out for today.
Yes, I do like Longaberger. The basket I made is very cute--red, with bright colors in the weave--green, purple, red, yellow for Jelly Belly colors. They have a list of the places for retail outlets on the bottom of the receipt--most in Ohio, but one in Indiana, one in Michigan and one in PA I think. None in Wisconsin, but they said there are plans to open more next year.
I really like the red, white and blue ones--there are some pictures on my blog post yesterday with the treats we sold Saturday night in All American baskets. I thought that would be a nice touch for the Vets, so I had 6 baskets holding the items we sold--wish I had a picture of the table.

Here is a great tutorial on how to make your own photo light box:
A photo box is what people use to help them take better pictures. The light is filtered and the photos won't have harsh shadows. The colors won't be faded out since you will not use a flash. You want photos with a soft diffused light and a photo box is the way to achieve this.
Patty--if you go to Amazon and type in photography tent and narrow down your search, you can get the tent, two lights and a small tripod for around $50.
Melina- I'm not sure what to do. No matter what I try I can't seem to be able to leave a comment on Lela's blog. I did post about this before, but maybe you missed it.

hmmmm, Patty, I don't know what the issue is? She has lots of comments on her owl card today. I was able to leave one. Anyone have any suggestions for Patty? I'm sorry, I don't have a clue. Ugh!
Good morning ladies. PATTY, I cannot believe you were talking about a light box. I spent the whole afternoon yesterday trying to build one and I search website without luck. THIS IS TIMING!!!!. I'll try the one in the post. It looks better that the one I build. Sometimes I finish my projects at night and I have to wait till morning to take the picture to have a nice day light.. I'll check the other websites later probably it will be better to buy a kit as Barb said. I hope everyone is doing well.

If I recall from my visits yesterday, Lela's site is the only one where you click post comment and then it asks for word verification (other blogs with word verification do this as you're leaving your comment). Perhaps this has something to do with it?

I think it's because I like to learn new things, and I wish we can learn from each others. For example, some pro or con of a new product you try. Some pictures of the trip you go. Some great websites that one must pay a visit. Interesting events that worth attend. some tips of making craft. Whatever is related to art and craft. And also i am a visual person. I personally think a picture is worth a thousand words. Pictures can also reinforce memory. As presenting both pictures and text content, I think blog is better than forum. Group chat is better in forum. These are my two cent.

How do you define good photo?
Maybe you could ask someone that you think is good.

What is a Fan Folded Flowers (rosettes)? Is that different from what they called medallion?

I am ok leaving msg on her blog. Once you press "public your comment", it will not show till she approve. So now your comment is saved and only she can see. This is my guess.
I'm not looking for professional quality, but I get alot of shadows that annoy me. I can't ever seem to get rid of them entirely.
You could lighten your cards by 1 or 2 table lights with white light bulbs from different angles when taking the photos. This way your photos of the cards will have their own real colors and a more daylight feeling. Also less editing in photo program.

Sorry Patty! I have gone into the settings and clicked "no" now for everything so you should be able to leave a comment. Originally it did require you to have some sort of "i.d." or be signed in. You shouldn't have that issue any longer. I also removed the verification process...I think ;)
I didn't have on the approver process so I left that off ....??
Hopefully that works easier for everyone
