 OOPS! I've failed to post a Question of the Day for the past few days! Where is my mind!?!?!?
Mothers Day is next Sunday, so heres a mother-related Question of the Day. If you could be the daughter of any famous woman (dead or alive), who would she be?
QOTD:...I think I would pick Jackie Kennedy....she had such grace and dignity faced with all the hurdles her life had...and I believe that she was able to balance her public life with her personal life...in a very classy way...(just my opinion of course...)

Oh Carol... me, too! In fact, I probably would have to say Jacqueline Kennedy. I always admired her, even as a young child. I often wrote papers in school on the Kennedy's.
Oher names that come to mind for me:
Amelia Earhart - not because I want to fly (I don't) but because she pursued her dreams with vigor!
J. K. Rowling - I've never read Harry Potter, but I admire the way she took a chance and worked hard to support herself and her child when she found herself in a tough spot.
Louisa May Alcott - I admire how she overcame adversity again and again and plunged ahead in spite of much pain and suffering, never seeming to let hardships get the best of her.
Hello my Wonderful Calendar Girls--almost 6:00 and this is the first time I have turned on the computer today. We went to a charter K-12 school in Milwaukee this morning to help with clean up--it is a former hospital they turned into a school 10 years ago. There is an inner courtyard that has not been touched during that time and it has eight round large--maybe 6-8 feet across--planters that had everything growing from weeds, to shrubs to trees. We, along with 8 of roomies co-workers, cleaned them out the best we could--trees have big roots! I then went to a Lia Sophia bingo party for two hours and then we came home and later went for a walk at the state park.
Not much going on tonight--nor tomorrow.
I will post the May challenge this coming week--still tweeking it a bit.

Good choices as well....it seems the main theme is working hard, overcoming difficulties and doing it with class.......

How many hours of sunshine are you getting in a day now, lil' dj?
It's not always sunshine....more daylight hours...about 16 I think. It is light when I get up at 7 and doesn't get dark until after 9. Today is very sunny though. Going to get outside and rake. Need to start cleaning up the yard.
Good Afternoon Friends--Back from a walk--we walked to the grocery store--2 miles one way and stopped at a park along the way for a picnic lunch--saying it just like Yogi would! It is nice, but windy. We are going to work in the gardens for a bit, doing some weeding.
May--when I was teaching, it was a fun month as there were so many events--banquets, Prom, sporting events, etc. then leading up to the end of the school year.
Now--I too love that each day is longer and warmer and the trees buds turn to leaves and the flowers get bigger and prettier and there is so much color starting to bloom outside!
 OOPS! I've failed to post a Question of the Day for the past few days! Where is my mind!?!?!?
Mothers Day is next Sunday, so heres a mother-related Question of the Day. If you could be the daughter of any famous woman (dead or alive), who would she be?
Well, there are so many great options it is hard to choose! I would have to go with Dr. Maya Angelou. She has accomplished so much in her life and her wisdom is amazing. Although, she would have to figure out a story as to why she has a little white girl! LOL
Well, it used to be that schools was going to be out in a few weeks. That doesn't work any longer! So, I will go with this May. I like best that my Grandma's birthday is this month and she will be 97.
She told me the other day that she would like to go to dinner at the casino (yikes!) or Red Lobster! Now could you pick two drastically different places?! I had a few nicer type places in mind, but you know she will get whatever she wants!
Good Morning--from a bright and sunny Wisconsin! It looks just perfect out and I sure hope that means spring is finally here.
Got some things done in the garden yesterday--weeding, dividing some plants and moving some others. Windows and doors are open today and some sheets are drying on the clothesline.
I am working on some swaps today--hope your day is wonderful!
QOTD--not sure I "want" to conquer it, but my worst fear is snakes--and I really do not care to get over it. Sometimes heights bother me--like on high bridges, but I think that is a lot of people.
Barb, I share both of your fears! EEK! I also have a fear of flying, which is the one I guess I'd really like to conquer. I fly when it is needed, but it makes me edgy. (I am actually much MUCH better than I used to be though.)
flying does not bother me--the only time I had some issues was in a small 6 passenger plane that we did in Alaska that took us around Denali. Rebecca was not doing well the majority of the time in the plane and I started to feel ill the last half hour or so. We are not doing the flightseeing this time--her sister and Brittany are though--we can watch them take off and land! ;)

QOTD....my fear is being in front of groups speaking....or even just standing there.. I was a basket case when everyone stood up at my wedding and turned and looked at me....my mom grabbed one are and told my dad to grab the other and started to "firmly" walk me down the isle...sheesh...not good at any of that...lol...

OK--are you ready ladies--or Girls?!Drum Roll Please........................
Here is the May Challenge:
The month of May can bring many thingsMothers Day, Graduation, Prom, Memorial Dayall are wonderful events. However, May does bring one thing to mindSkin. You knowlike short sleeved tops, capris, shorts, flip flops/sandals, sundressesall things that bring a frightful thought to our mind as our body is not in shape to show skin. So, lets Shape Up. Nonot running, biking, weights, but cards that have a different shape. So, your May card is to be a Shutter Card, Side Step Card, Gate Fold, Easel Card, Joy Fold, Criss Cross, etc. Any shape worksbut to be true to the challenges we have had in the pasttry a new shape that you have not used recently or really take a leap and try a design that you have never done before! The theme of the card can be for any event that happens before posting our next Challenge by the Charming Carol on June 28tha birthday, wedding, shower, etc.
So, are you ready to take the challenge? Are you ready to Shape Up? Are you ready to show some skin--just kidding................
I hope you like this challenge and that you do trying a new shape in your card making or dust off a technique that you have not done in a long time. And, most of all---Have Fun!!!
