staying inside-nice and toasty with a blanket on me!
Oh my goodness. That is usually us! It was 82 today and felt like - with meteorologist verification via forecast - our last day of summer. EVERYONE was out! Kinda crazy out there today.
I was able to finish my errands, which was good. I made a special little jaunt to stop by a LSS that I usually do not go to as it is really shabby chic and vintage, but was looking for some DP that I thought they would have - well, par for the course they are out of business. That was the last LSS in the area and we do not live in a super small city. Crazy and sad. Now the closest LSS is by my parents over a half an hour away and she already closed one of her stores!
I live in a pretty large area too, Tami, and we have one LSS and it is about 40mins away....crazy! Especially sine I think they could make some serious money selling what the big box stores don't carry. We do have tons of those here....3 JoAnns, 4 Mikes, a Hobby Lobby, and 2 AC Moore's.......
LSS--so many have closed in our area too. We still have Creative Palss--Whipper Snapper--about 15 minutes away, a scrapbook store with some stamps about 20 minutes away and then another store in a small town by us with stamps and scrapping supplies. One of the best ones is in Madison--an hour way. Kind of wonder how they all are able to do it, but all offer some classes and crops, so that helps.

I know. I just think that if you had a proper business plan that you would be able to succeed. Maybe I am wrong, as so many go out of business. I do understand that it would take a lot of DP sold to pay for a brick and mortar, but I know a lot of ladies that order online that would rather have the touchy feely of local for their special projects.
We did have a great LSS close by that two friends ran. They were the place for paper! Then they decided to move out of state. What were they thinking?!?! LOL
I am good. Been working on some laundry and cards. Just got home from dinner with my DH's family. We had a good time. We met his Uncle who is in town. The kids and I had never met him and the last time he had seen my DH, DH was a baby! We had a good time.
Good Afternoon--it has been a great few days for my birthday weekend-but awhile since I have been on SCS. Friday night we went to Illinois to watch my godson play football--and got home pretty late. Saturday morning I went to the stamp show in Milwaukee and it was OK--less and less booths every year and not really too much new to see. But, I got to spend some time with my SCS buddy Terry. We then went over to visit a friend, Claudia, who had surgery on her foot on Friday and needs to be off of it for 8 weeks--Yikes! We watched the Brewers win their first game of the playoffs. Then off to a fundraiser--Racket for the Cure--at an athletic club that some friends had organized. We helped with the auctions/raffles--then watched the Badgers whoop Nebraska last night!
Today, after church, we met some friends for brunch. We then went to a church converted to a house that an interior designer owns and she was hosting a sale on furnishings, antiques, etc.--did not get anything, but her house and gardens were incredible. Stopped back at Claudia's house to watch part of the Packer game and pick up her trailer to use for garden "stuff". Just watched the Packers win big and now watching the Brewer game---it is currently tied! Nice to be home after 2 days of out and about--;)
So, a great weekend for my birthday and to be a sports fan in Wisconsin! Hope you had a good one too!
Good Morning Ladies--Hope your Monday is starting out great!
I need to cut the grass this morning--everyone in our neighborhood cut theirs over the weekend, but too many things to do for us to take the time. I guess that is what is nice about being retired--I can do those things during the "work week"! I also have some grocery shopping and a trip to Office Depot. But this afternoon, I plan to start on some card kits for the OWH event.
