Oh, Carol! I love your theme. I must say, my eyes got a little misty and I got the shiver of goose bumps when I read it. Such a touching story of your own childhood! And sweet memories! I am looking forward to April 28th already, which by the way just happens to be the date when I officially became a mother for the very first time - my eldest son was born on April 28th a few years back. ;)
Oh Carol, your words and post have me blubbering like a fool. I am in awe of how touching your posts are. Family means a lot to you and it comes through in everything you say and write THis will be a challenge, but I am on it full speed
And did you know it was mother's day this weekend in the UK? My maternal gma was born and raised in London, as was my mom, and we could NEVER find a mother's day card in America to send to her - lol. Finally Hallmark got smart and made some a few years back but before that, we had to buy them the year before and keep them for an entire year to have one in March
Here comes Miss April sneaking in just before the end of March.. For you challenge this month I thought quite a bit about the challenge. As you know, we will be posting after Easter so with that in mind I thought I'd do a Mothers Day challenge. When I was a child my mom would encourage my dad to get little carnation corsages in pink or red for each of us girls and mom to wear to church on Mothers Day. According to her (and the intranet), if a woman's mother was alive the females in the family would don a red or pink flower (mostly carnations, but not a rule) and if her mom had passed, the female would wear a white flower, and would visit the grave of her mom and place a white carnation on her grave. My mom's dad would do this when she was a child and mom loved the tradition. What I would like you to do this month is create a card or project using the color that would describe your mom. As an extra I would like for you to share a special memory of your mom from when you were little (if you are comfortable with that) so we can learn a bit about the wonderful ladies who raised such beautiful paper crafters...
Carol, I love your theme. I read this and thought....'oh I have a half an hour' and I made my card. Check Mother's Day card off the list! LOL
Of course the first thing that popped in my head for a memory was not a mushy one - it made me laugh out loud.

Jeanette and Kelly, I didn't mean to make you teary...( sorry)
Barb you have the greatest greetings...they always make me smile...thanks for making my day...
Oh Carol, you sweet thing. I am certainly not on top of everything. I just have to try to keep up....some of my past work skills have come in handy! I e-calendar everything and use electronic lists. No paper!!! Save it for cards. With current technology, your lists are available on multiple devices. Golden!
I'm a bit delayed getting here this morning - we had a thunderstorm in the area so I had to unplug my computer. Alas, my battery on my laptop is basically gone - it only holds a charge for about 10 minutes. We need the rain, though, so it's good. DH sowed grass seed earlier this week - our yard is mostly gone due to the loss of the huge tree (they ground out the stump) so the rain will help the seed germinate.
Tami, I used to do all my lists on my iphone........... had about 8-10 lists there. Then one day all but 4 of the lists were gone when I woke up. I even went to our phone people and no one can figure out why they disappeared nor where they went to. So now I sometimes hesitate to do my lists there. I still have some there, but I always fear I will lose them. But like you say, the beauty of it is the fact that you always have the list with you.

That is so weird! If you have iCloud as your back up to your phone, your information should be in The Cloud. You can turn it on via 'settings'.
I also love Evernote. It is an app on the iPhone, iPad site. You can also download a Mac or PC version to your computer. It syncs to all devices and you can log in via web base. You can create notebooks, clip items from the web, save email content, share content with other Evernote users. It is a similar program to Microsoft's One Note. I prefer Evernote to One Note due to it is Apple based, but can be used on non Apple devices and has for some time. It is free up to a certain gig storage, then minimal to purchase. The free should work just fine.
On a funny note, I keep all of my dad's medication information in a notebook for him. The app symbol is an elephant - you know never forget - if my dad has a question on anything he asks "isn't that in your elephant app?" LOL
It is also great for planning trips. I know you have some coming up! You can have all of your information, maps, ticketing and everything in a notebook at your fingertips. Super love!!!!
Tami, my notes disappearing seemed to have all the technicians baffled. I did put ABC Notes (kind of looks like sticky notes) on my phone so I can keep track of the commenting I need to do for each design team - that works okay.
Late check in for me... We had repeated thunderstorms yesterday evening (at least two rumbled through our area) so I kept my computer unplugged. That meant this morning I had to put together today's blog post. So I'm late getting here.
But April, if late night is the only time we get to see you, we would miss you if you broke the habit. :/
I hope everyone slept well and is enjoying this Friday! WOO HOO!!! TGIF!!!
Hello SCS Friends--Happy Sunday Early Evening....................... Well, I'm sure some of your know that the Badgers did not win last night. It was a good game, but Kentucky was a much more athletic team. The Badgers lost by one point and it was a sad ending to a great season.
We went for a hike today and also bought some more seeds--a few packs of herbs. We have 7 trays of flowers and vegetables growing under the lights in the basement. We will move them out to the greenhouse in maybe two weeks--it just needs to warm up a bit more....................
