Sorry to go MIA. It has been a difficult week for me. My mom has been in the hospital. She came down with the flu in November and never quite recovered. She wound up going to the doctor and they put her on some pretty strong medications, but she wound up getting worse instead of better. Her throat closed up to the point that she was unable to swallow at all and they admitted her thinking she had suffered a stroke. They have since ruled out stroke and have run all sorts of tests including MRI and CAT scan among others and have no idea what is going on with her. Her throat is still completely closed up so they had to put in a feeding tube. They are planning on sending her to Anchorage as soon as the weather clears (it is currently 30 below there...she lives in Alaska.) to see another specialist. Unfortunately, I cannot fly out to her because of the weather so I am stuck being a million miles away and feel so helpless I can barely stand it. She is the strongest person I know and this came completely out of the blue. Hug the people you love, because you just never know.

Prayers to you and your mom, Ann Marie. My husband and I are off work all week, and I've been lazy :) I did work on my scrapping room for a little bit today. I cleared off a little space on my work counter, so when I'm ready to do something I'll have a spot to work.

I am so worried about her and am afraid that she is feeling pretty down right now. I thought it might cheer her up to receive some get well or thinking of you cards. I hope every one had a GREAT Chrsitmas. We went into Chicago last night to Lincoln Park Zoo to see the zoo lights.

DD1 flew back to VA this morning. She is going to spend news years at her dorm mate's house and another friend. Then they go back to school on the 3rd for an interterm. It's 3 weeks and take one class for full credit. They want them to take something not for their required courses to broaden their horizens. Then she starts the Spring term.

It''s pouring down rain today. I need to clean all my craft messes today. I helped DD1 make an altered notebook to give to a friend. She didn't help clean up before she left!

Mom is spending most of her time sleeping. They have decided it is not safe for her to travel to Anchorage right now, but have made an appointment with a Neurologist for her. Just waiting now.

Happy New Year everyone :) I've enjoyed the past 2 weeks so much, that I don't want it to end :( My husband has been off work, I've been off work, and my daughter got a few days off too. However, I'm hoping that a change in schedule will get me motivated!

I was so happy to finished on time and to my surprise when I read it I found out that instead of silver I understood gold :(, the funny thing is that I don't like gold and I though it would be nice if instead I could use another colour.... Hey ladies.. I'm here.. just struggling a little.. not sure why - but I just can't seem to get motivated to post. It isn't you.. just me.. January is so dark and ugly where we live so maybe it is that.

I do have a little exciting news.. I am going to be teaching at the LSS I work very part time at. I am going to do a double page layout class... and also a single bonus page - with the idea that if the person takes every class they will have a calendar to give as a gift for Christmas.

I am a little nervous - but have heard that 7 people have signed up to take the class already!! I am starting the last week of the month. It will be a busy week as I am going to work at the store while the owner and my mom are jetting off to CHA. Lucky ducks!!

Brayden is having is birthday party tonight - I can't believe he is going to be 15 next month.. this will be his 5th birthday with us - CRAZY!!!

My mom is back in the hospital and seems to be doing ok one day and then the next she isn't doing so well. It has been like a bad roller coaster ride. She has lost the ability to move her arms and legs and still is unable to swallow. She is eating through a feeding tube. It is crazy. Two months ago she was healthy and extremely active. Due to the weather I still have not been able to go to be with her and right now they are talking about medi-vacing her to Seattle. It literally has been a day by day ordeal. I wanted to thank all of you for your kind words and cards etc. You are truly a beautiful group of ladies. I am trying with everything I have to remain positive, but it feels like a tall order right now.

I'm sorry to see you go, Melina, but there's no reason why you can't pop in and say Hello :)

I'm really struggling right now, and I can't find my mojo. I've suffered from anxiety and panic attacks much of my life, and right now it's really kicking my butt! I will get back in the swing of things soon I hope. I need to do swap cards this week, so hopefully I'll have something new to post in a few days.

Dear sisters, the last month has been something of a blur. My dear sweet mother passed away last night. She was such a fighter, but at 89 her poor fragile body had enough. I pray she is with her Lord this morning celebrating her new life. My mom never talked about her faith, but I talked to her just yesterday morning about Jesus and sang some hymns to her. Thank you for all your prayers and support.

Sweet AM, I'm so sorry to hear about your mother! I'll be praying for her and you and your family. God is in control, but I know sometimes we struggle to understand "why''.
