Answering the question... to tell you the truth I just found out this year what Black Friday was...I've been living in Canada for the last ten years and knew all about Boxing day but BF????, never heard of it till now... well I missed it :(, next year maybe, although I don't shop on those days, seems I never know where to start and I feel everyone get excellent deals but me :(. Have to research how to do it properly!!!!. I have to try that box and it excellent time... I just got my score pal!!!:)

I'm home and exhausted - will get everything updated tonight.. just need a little more me time before sitting at the computer for a few hours.

I promise - I'll get back on track.

Ughhh....DD & I have been sick so I didn't get last weeks challenge done :( I love the project for this week's challenge and hope to be able to do it. Right now, I don't have any "get up and go"! LOL

I'm switching my Blog over from Blogger to Wordpress. Have any of you done this?? Actually, the girl who does my website will probably do most of the work, so I don't know what I'm worried about...haha! For those of you that have wordpress, do you like it? I was OK with Blogger, but there were some "bugs".

I have a house full of sick people too! ugh! I'm cleaning everything over and over, hoping I don't catch it! They are coughing, have nasal congestion, chest congestion....YUCK!

I don't have any ideas for gifts you can make. I am making cards and a box for a girlfriend but that isn't a new idea LOL. I was going to make peppermint bark for teachers gifts and maybe some altered mini-notebooks or clipboards.

Are you talking kids or adults? For a swap once I made pencil boxes. I took the pencil boxes you get for like 10 cents at Staples (the ones that the box slides out of the case) and I covered it in paper and decorated it. That was for a stocking stuffer.

Nancy, am looking for both kid and adult gift ideas! I saw the neatest idea!!! You take a plain paper mache' brown box and 'ice' it with dry wall mud. Then once it dries you paint it deep brown and hot glue pecans on top. It looks exactly like a chocolate cake!! Too clever!! You can fill it with food goodies and the recipient can keep the chocolate cake box once the goodies are gone! Soooo neat! :)

Time for another weekly challenge!

Also time to start thinking full force about Christmas!! So, today's challenge is to make a card/box using the PDF I have attached here. This is the neatest little project!! It is really simple to make and can be made pretty quickly so you could make several as gifts or stocking stuffers this year! They house packets of hot chocolate or apple cider. You could stick tea bags or oatmeal packets or any other flat thing you can dream up in them! The theme must be Christmas or winter! I have made one already and have attached that link and there are additional samples in the included PDF. Cannot wait to see your creations!!

AnnMarie, I didn't get a chance to make the box card. Today was an outside work day here at the house. We cut down 3 more pine trees. That makes approx. 28! We are on a very wooded lot with lots of thin, tall pine trees. We are so scared that one will fall during a storm (like tornado or ice storms which we have a lot) and hit the house, so we've been working on that for about 5 Saturdays now. When I got in tonight, I was just pooped. I should have gotten it done earlier in the week. So sorry.

Hi ladies!!!. Sorry AnnMarie, I didn't have time either this week. It has been a very busy week and today beside being out the whole day, it is my son's birthday and I have a terrible headache, I need to go to bed right now but I didn't want to go to bed without checking in. I started the box, I got a scor Pal from Patty and I was looking forward to use it, so I did the box but didn't have time to decorate it and finished it. So sorry, I guess after this couple of weeks and after I send all my Christmas cards I'll be more relax and focus on challenges. I'll try my best next time. I feel bad this year...by this time I always have my tree up with all the decorations and the presents ready to be wrap but this year not only I didn't buy the tree yet (maybe tomorrow) but i didn't even start thinking about presents. I guess the kids are growing and with teenagers and activities things get harder.

Carolina, I hope your headache went away and happy birhtday to your son. I am in the same boat as far as Christmas gifts. I really don't know what to get the kids. It used to be so easy. The older they get, the harder it is.

I need to finish decorating the tree and work on some swap pages. I also need to make a few cards for my GF's Christmas gift and make the box for the cards. I am hoping to get at least one thing done on the list! LOL

AM, your pink snowflake box card is fabulous. Pink is one of my favorite colors and I love snowflakes. I really love how it came out!!

Good morning and Happy Monday!

AM, I love your challenge. Hopefully this will get me going on my Christmas cards since I haven't started yet!

I'm here ladies - sort of.. football is now officially over so I will have a little more time.... that being said I have been working (and still have days pre-booked) in December - something that has never happened.

I will get caught up on the challenges - I promise!!

We have also been helping out with something called the "River Relief Truck" where one of our local radio DJs (and our friend) has moved into a 53 foot tractor trailer and is not leaving it until it is full of non-perishable food items for our local food bank. As a matter of fact we are even letting the boys "skip" school today to help out. I love that one of Brayden's teachers said "That's not skipping - that's community service."

One last thing... a proud mommy moment. Last night we had the awards banquet for football. Carsyn was awarded the MVP trophy and was given the All Star Ball, which is an award they give out weekly to the best player of the game and then at the end of the season it is given to the MVP.

Anyways I'm off and running - another day of work for me!

I read the challenge during the weekend while I was rushing from place to place and I'm glad I read it again today, I thought we had to make a bag and I was not very inspired. After I read it again I have to say I love the challenge. I like the colours and polka dots. I can't wait to put my hands on this week challenge. Speaking of feeling behind!!! I woke up in a bit of a holiday panic this morning! LOL It is already the 8th and I haven't really gotten anything accomplished!! I started wondering why I even make myself crazy every year. There has to be a better way! I LOVE making and doing gifts for everyone and I love the spirit of the holiday but it seems to be getting tougher every year to pull it all together. My wonderful hubby has become Mr.Grinch himself over all of the commercialism that has come to surround the big day which adds to my Christmas stress. Sigh! It will all be alright...It will all be alright...it will... :)

Ann Marie, I'm totally with you in the Christmas spirit. My sons don't have a clue what to ask for...that means one thing... they have everything they need, which makes my life too complicated... WHAT TO GIVE THEM FOR CHRISTMAS?????... I'm really behind too, although everyone that I know is going to have very nice Christmas cards, cause that the only thing I finished already, well need to do a couple more.

Melina, I'm so behind scrapbooking too :(. With all the holidays and cards to make I abandoned my scrapbooking and I miss it. Probably in January I'll start again. I'm several years behind...:(.

I just finished my challenge card. Took a picture and will be posted Saturday late at night which for some of you is already Sunday. It was a hard challenge because I wanted to try some new things but I'm happy with the result :)!!!. Can't wait to see everyone's work!!!.

Hello all. DD2 had a runny nose the other day and now she gave it to me. It's only a runny nose but it is making me feel light headed.

Otherwise, not much going one here.

How old are your kids Carolina? It seems like the older they get, the harder it is to buy gifts.

My oldest just turned 18. She likes to read and I usually get her a Barnes and Noble gift card but she got a bunch for her birthday from other people. I can't get her clothes because she is picky. So she might get a gift card for a store and she can shop for herself.

Hi ladies, IT'S FRIDAY YAYYY!!!. Well I don't know why I'm celebrating, I don't have my tree up. I bought just two presents for my kids and I still have to do some cards (only a couple though). I found out that I was so concern of finishing my cards this year with everything that I learned and new techniques that I found out, that I left everything (Christmas talking) else for the last minutes. Next year I'll start them in June or I'll be more selective with the people I'm sending to. I asked my husband for tips what to buy to him and the only thing he wants is a subscription to watch the NBA, well if he already knows what he is getting then I'm ordering online some Copic markers and some dies :) and he is fine with that but we are buying something else for each other anyways. Still lots to do so I better go. I'll visit all of you late tonight. Have a great day.
Nancy, my kids are 14, 12 and 6. The 6 one is really easy, the 14 one is done and I'm having trouble with the 12 year old one. He doesn't know what to ask for.

I had a busy week this week. I thought it was going to be an easy care-free week and I could get some stuff done. NOT

So once again my Sunday challenge will get posted sometime tomorrow after I do it. I have had ideas floating around my pea brain just not the time to actaully work on it.

Morning!

We traveled home last night! As if the holidays were not nutty enough we have signed our son up for indoor soccer back here at home! :rolleyes: He loves soccer though and has played with this team for four years so we will be doing a lot of driving for the next 12 weeks! LOL He has a game today so we are here for the weekend! :D

My challenge card is done, but I didn't have time to post it before we left. I will post it when we get back on Tuesday though! :)

I also have a meeting with my demo buddies today. (another reason we drove home this weekend!) It is our holiday meeting so it should be fun!

Still no tree...Christmas cards are only half assembled and I haven't bought gift #1! Going to be a challenge this year to get it all done! Sadly, I think I may be suffering a little from Grinch-i-dis! LOL
